Hodor 2.0!!!

Re: Hodor 2.0!!!

  • I'm never going out with LO ever again. Or at least that's how I feel right now.

I was walking out of Kroger with LO happily snoozing in her Moby wrap (newborn hug hold is my new best friend) and this dumb college girl threw her car in reverse and nearly hit us. She ran over my cart and it scraped along the side of her car and she was still oblivious. When she saw me yelling she rolled down the window all confused and I yelled at her about how she had almost run over a freaking baby and all she said was "Oh dude I'm sorry, I was just trying to get your spot!"
    WTAF.

OMG I would have lost it.

  • Yeah, when I got home (still crying) I told DH I ALMOST murdered someone today for ALMOST hurting my baby. He for some reason didn't seem fazed by it which kind of upset me more.

13 days PP and my vag hurts now more than a week ago. WTF? I'd say it's my stitches dissolving, but I have no idea where they are.

Do you feel like you're being punched in the vulva every time you pee? That's how I felt for a few days. It's pretty much gone now, thankfully. I almost feel normal again except that I'm still a gigantic wuss about wiping.
Yes! Why now? I expected it right after delivery, but not now. I thought my stitches were more internal, but maybe not. I refuse to look either way lol
I don't really wipe - it's more of a delicate dab. But yes, a burn / stab when I pee. I've even hauled out the peri bottle again. I feel like recovery is going backwards. Stupid vag.

I'm chalking it up to damaged nerves trying to heal down there and they are "reconnecting"/"waking up" again.

@marsavary‌ - it gets better. Give it another week. I think I just put my peri bottle away earlier this week.

you described exactly the feeling that I was getting - I actually even called my OB for percocet because it was getting MORE painful to sit the less swelling I had. They asked me to come in and they removed the stitches (they never seem to dissolve for me when I get surgery either) and I almost immediately felt 1000% better. I'd def recommend calling, especially if it's been over 10 days and you didn't have more than first degree tears.

  • I'm a bit worried that what I thought was the 3 week growth spurt, wasn't. LO slept like an angel last night and all day yesterday which leads me to believe the growth spurt is actually coming in the next couple days. I guess either way I'm so happy with all the sleep I got last night! Up every 2-3 hours to eat then slept right after that, no fuss!

DH and I are going out for supper tonight while my parents babysit and he just asked if I was going to shower or not. I haven't decided lol

This was our plan for tonight, but then my mom got sick so she can't be around lo. I was so sad since I've been looking forward to going out all week. Dh good friends just offered to watch her instead, I was so excited, and I just showered!
  • I showered this morning... but LO just peed on me and up my shirt sleeve. Looks like I am in need of another shower.

  • I just took the best nap with LO (Solid 1.5 hours). I never thought I'd enjoy snuggling up to him this much.

damn i knew i forgot something in the shower...

During newborn pictures LO had her diaper only half on because we were taking tushy pics and we took a quick break so I could nurse her. She peed all over my shirt and lap and then spit up more than I've ever seen a baby spit up all over my shirt and hair. The photographer was like "so you probably don't want to be in any pictures then..." We didn't finish for another 5 hours (had to keep stopping to eat/comfort) so I didn't clean up for a while. Now I always bring extra clothes with me.

  • I don't know how you ladies are doing 5 hr photo shoots. I would be exhausted and need a nap.

Also with regards to changes of clothes...during the first 2 weeks PP I packed spare yoga pants and what not... thankfully never had to use them but I didn't trust my PP bladder.

A friend of mine was doing the pictures so I ate sushi and watched America's funniest home videos while trying to calm down LO. Like @ladythrice, it was the start of her first growth spurt so she was having a rough time. The picture taking literally took 30 mins tops, with 5 different scenes.
  • I don't know if I'm a terrible mommy or if LO just slept for 4 straight hours. I fell asleep and could not hear her cry, if she was. I woke up and jumped out of bed realizing she wasn't in bed with me and ran to her room where she was awake just making noises but content. Ugh, I feel terrible!

I do this alot now. She has started sleeping longer so I always panic when I wake up. But then I will hear her cry and realize if she was upset there is no way I could miss it.
  • Heidig14Beevol, I feel a bit better about it now. She has been sleeping like an (angel) baby since and my first thought is that she is psychologically broken or something lol.

On another note.. Will my vag and armpits ever smell "normal" again? I stink so badly!
  • The top of my LO's head smells so good...it's like mommy crack.. :-/

I'm glad I'm not the only one! I just told DH to smell her head yesterday and when he did he was like "You're so weird... It just smells like skin and hair."
Meanwhile I'm over here with my face buried in her little fuzzy hair saying shit like "I just wanna live in here!*"

Bahahahaha I keep asking DH if he smells LOs head. He's always like WHY would I do that???
Anytime someone mentions their baby's head smell I smell my baby's sweet head. Nummm

  • Confession: I have never watched Friends. I didn't live under a rock in the 90's so I know the basic plot and saw a few episodes when they aired or in syndication, but I wasn't that into it. This thread is making me want to watch it, but... I never had the stereotypical 20-something experience though (DH and I got married straight out of college, went to grad school, got 'career' jobs, then had kids...), so I worry that I won't get it...

You don't need any special experiences to "get" it. I'm curious as to what you think it's about.
  • My H goes back to work tomorrow. I'm skeeeeered. At the same time I hope we develop a reasonable routine soon.

I was too young to watch the first few seasons when they aired. I started to watch when I was ~16. You will enjoy it!
