  • I about cried in the kfc drive thru. all I wanted was a twister wrap and apparently our kfc doesn't do those. Wth! I just got chicken Littles which were gross and then moped along. Ugh

I loved twister wraps!! But I thought KFC stopped doing them years ago - I haven't seen them on a menu in ages.  Remember the buffalo twister? I wonder if I could just make one.

    @kristhegirl‌, I went through a similar situation.
Can we share a toast of grapefruit juice for shitty friends?
  • I'm frankly upset with my bitchy SIL. She found out this morning that they're having a girl (YAY! Another niece! I'm seriously so excited!), and then texted me with the news? NBD.

Except that my ILs have all girl grandbabies now (five of them under four), and my SIL (who hates me) has turned this into a competition.

She texted me saying, "well, now [younger BIL] has a chance to have that first boy!" I replied with, "well, our baby could be a boy, you know!" She replied with: "Unlikely. And wouldn't that be a shame for [younger BIL] if it is. Hopefully it's another girl!"

    It pissed me off.

Why are people so weird about competing with their children? I know for a fact SIL will be livid if we have a girl because they're done having kids and she only had boys-- my MIL's only grandkids-- and she was very verbal about wanting a girl. Like we shouldn't feel upset or guilty for having a girl or a boy! It doesn't matter!
Exactly this! MIL threw a HUGE fit when they found out DD was a girl. They "just want a grandson, is that so hard?"

Sorry, I'll communicate that to my uterus. How dare we keep disappointing you! /sarcasm

  • I'm so over working today that I can't even stand it. I don't want to be here anymore!
  • I'm attempting to clean house today. Haven't cleaned since I POAS 8 weeks ago. My house is beyond gross. So far I've done a load of laundry, started the dishwasher, and cleaned the stove. Is my house clean now? Haha. No.
  • Potty training while pregnant is a form of torture I'm sure of it!  I need wine or vodka at the end of these days....I suppose a snicker blizzard will do for now. uggghhhh

I'm potty training my 3 year old and I completely agree I need some damn wine! Hang in there hopefully it'll be over soon :)

What is wrong with people?! Not everything is a competition!  I'm so glad my sister had a boy and a girl.  No pressure over here.  Everyone keeps telling me they think the baby is a boy and I'm willing it to be a girl out of spite.

Fuck them.  Either way, be happy.

Fart on her the next time you see her.
Sorry you have a bitchy SIL. *raises a glass full of grape juice in solidarity* My H's oldest sister is a huge BITCH. Basically it boils down to the fact that she is jealous, spiteful, and hates me for no reason. We were not invited to Thanksgiving because she claimed DH took a swing at her (so not true) and she proceeded to tell my MIL how she was spending all this time with her husband's family. MIL finally grew a backbone and tood up to her and was uninvited to Thanksgiving as well. Now my ILs are trying to "patch things up" because they want to see the kids but I am so done with SIL drama and DH and I agreed never to have anythign to do with her again.

  • Count me in the DD-is-convinced-she-is-getting-a-baby-sister camp. I'm almost afraid to see what she'll be like if it's a boy. My younger brother and I are the same age apart and I was a complete monster when he was born. #karmawillgetme

@Cookiesandwine my brother and I are two years and two weeks apart (I'm older). When my brother was like two days old I bit his thumb when my mom was burping him. I'm afraid DD will throw this baby in the toliet if it's a boy.

  • I found out that I was possibly exposed to fifth disease, dr figured I'm most likely immune so it's probably ok. Then today I developed a rash all over my face. So after talking with my OB I had a blood test done to check if I've had it already. We'll find out in a couple days. I know the risks for the baby are relatively low but it's still nerve wracking!

  • You guys want to hear a really sweet story that makes me cry whenever I think about it?

I had these older neighbors when I lived in SC who became very dear friends - their names were Bill and Evelyn.  They were married in their 50's and were in their 70's when I knew them.  Evelyn had terrible arthritis in both of her hands, and they decided to go ahead with surgery, and to do both hands at once even though that makes recovery super difficult.

So, in the weeks leading up to the surgery, Evelyn noticed that Bill was disappearing for hours at a time.  He'd say he was heading to the hardware store and then be gone for three hours, or he'd run in to his (part time) job and be gone all day, etc.  And she started getting really worried that he had developed some kind of drinking problem or gambling problem or was seeing somebody else.  She confided in me one day that she was terrified that he wouldn't be there to take care of her after surgery.

So things finally come to a head a few nights before surgery, and Evelyn gives Bill a good tongue-lashing, and the whole story comes out.  Bill confesses that he has been going to a hair salon in downtown Greenville and has been taking lessons on how to do French braids.  Because Evelyn has always kept her hair in two French braid pigtails, and he knew that she wouldn't be able to braid her hair after the surgery.

    Snuffle.

ETA: Ugh.  I changed tenses halfway through?

I am legit crying. This is SO sweet.

I first read this as "nipples" and was both horrified and confused.

Pimples aren't much better, sure, but much less horrifying.

  • @mischiefmama I did not have anyone visit during labor. The only people in the room were my DH and the nurse. And the epidural guy when I got one. And when it came close to show time my doctor and another nurse. My parents visited after baby arrived and I was cleaned up and his parents visited the next day (DD was born late). Most hospitals have a policy for visitors during active labor I think.

I had my parents and DH's parents in the room with me while the epidural was making things happy for me. :) As soon as I started feeling enough pain to make it awkward, I kindly said, "alright it's time for y'all to go now."

I feel like crying, since I am stubborn with pain and will not take medicine until I absolutely have too. Which I am telling you will be soon cause any moment my mom will walk through the door with Tylenol. Haha. On the bright side I got some genetic testing down and everything looks normal and not to mention I got an awesome photo of my little peanut. And I am even starting to show ☺️

P.S. It's also nice to know I'm not the only one who wants second breakfasts in the morning.

I had the newest Victoria's Secret swimming catalog delivered a few days ago. I looked through it yesterday...and cried a little lol. I used to get a few new swimming sets a season, and spend a week or so in the Carrinean somewhere on the beach ... With the stretch marks and soggy boobies this will never be my life again :-( I wanna burn that catalog...but my association doesn't let me set up fires in the neighborhood!!

  • @mischiefmama
The first time, my dad and stepmom and DH's parents came up there. I didn't invite them, they just showed up. my water broke before contractions got serious so I was in the room for a few hours waiting to see if I progressed any without help. Not much happened. Anyway, both sets of parents were in and out of the room, watching tv with DH and talking. I found it very irritating btw. Every time a nurse came in she would make them leave. That went on for a couple hours at least. At some point after they gave me drugs and an epidural I started falling asleep for short periods and they started to come in less often. Trust me I was super irritated when they were in there trying to visit during contractions. At some point they all fell asleep in tge waiting room and then just came to visit after the delivery. If I had my way they would have just came after the fact but DH can NEVER keep his mouth shut about anything.

  • @sassycassieb each pregnancy whether it's one or more babies is different. My close friend had her daughter two weeks early and except for a brief stay in the NICU (like overnight) everything was fine. Just try and take control of the things you can control (your health, getting stuff ready for the babies, etc). If your babies are early or late you can not control but you will love them either way and be glad when they are here and healthy. Hope that helps.

I'm so annoyed. I've had constant bleeding since week 8 with this baby. I started to loose clots Thursday night and went to A&E to be checked over. They said im still pregnant for now and will get a scan on Wednesday to confirm the pregnancy. I had to phone my dad to bring me home, the hospital is 30 mins away and all he did on the way home is complain. He started having ago at me because my stepmam has been telling people she is my birthing partner because she was with DS. I've said I haven't asked her and I'm sorry but she's not. But I have been guilt tripped and slated down for the full ride home. He is saying how grateful she was last time and how I am taking it away from her. I'm sorry but she does nothing but slate my parenting skills, she asked me to be bridesmaid to there wedding and then said im too fat for the photos, she compares me to her son because he is a teacher in China and I'm just a student, complained my OH job isn't good enough for my family and to top it off then said she wants nothing to do with this child because she has no time and it's a inconvenience, of course she isn't going to be there to welcome my baby into the world!!!

    Fucking quote fail

Honestly labor is SUPER boring at first. My room was freaking Grand Central Station with people, friends, family, all coming in and out. They all left for cervical checks and stuff like that, but it's really not that exposed. You're dressed for at least the first part, and having people around was an awesome distraction from the early pain. Chatting kept me breathing easy as things got more intense, and having people make me laugh was wonderful in the pain.
