Me @ Target the other night: I'm getting ice cream, you want some? DH: No, just hurry and pick some out Me: Seriously, you don't want any? I'm not sharing. DH: NO,let's go.
I bought two tiny single serve things. I went to eat my cookie dough one last night. Yah, that fucker ate it.
Sounds like we need @jenndub to cut him. I would have freaked.
Everyone that is going on a date night tonight, have a great time and post a picture of a drink on IG for me! :P
I prep a lot the night before and get up one hour before everyone else in my house to make sure I'm showered, hair and make up done before them and am still scrambling and sometimes yelling in the morning. WTF is my problem??
@MarisaKathleen, are they purposely making it 19 hours instead of 20 so that they don't have to give benefits? That seems weird. I'd say you need 20 hours - like 2 full days and one half day and get the benefits too! Good luck!!
Now I want cookie dough ice cream too. And it's - a billion here too.
I am not motivated at all today - I wish there was nap time for grown ups; however I know my tireness is due to my migraine meds
I think if I didn't attempt to get things ready the night (lunches packed, daycare, school and work p bags packed, and some clothes laid out before) we would never get out of the house! And i am not the one who does drop off my husband does.
Which is another reason everything as to be laid out and packed - if its not sitting by the door he won't take it. One day DS sleeping bag was by the couch not door (mind you the family room is right next to the hallway / front door). DH left it at home. Men!
I have an interview this afternoon at a different college in the area. They pay the best in the state. Only problem is it's only 19 hours a week. At 20 hours, the state pays benefits. So yea. Not that DH's benefits couldn't cover us, but mine are so much better.
It's also a whopping $5 more an hour, and it's literally the SAME JOB I DO NOW. Just a different school. I hope that I don't get it, because I don't think at this time I can afford to go PT. The plan was to wait until next year, but then this interview came up and it's one of those things--it's super hard to get into this school because they make so much money that no one ever leaves, so I have to at least go.
Bleh. The damn roads better be cleaned up by this afternoon when I have to leave. It's around 50 minutes away from my current work, but only a half hour from home, so it would be a big relief to not have to drive so damn far everyday.
Maybe you could negotiate a few more hours a week? Worth talking to them anyway. GL! It's always nice to get an interview.
@MarisaKathleen good luck with your interview. is there a way to negoiate it into being a couple more hours? 19 seems like a really odd number.. maybe once you are there you will get some more information
@tinyhumantoe i think your husband needs a face-punch you don't steal ice cream from a pregnant lady; that is like stealing candy from a baby! Tell him he needs to go out and get you something better now! for you and the baby
I'm just tired of people complaining about things they can change.
Uhoh, guilty as charged.
Although it's one thing to complain about finances/no work, knowing you'd have a better chance if you wake up and get there 2 hours earlier OR that you could go apply for different jobs. It's another thing to complain about finances when you've applied for jobs, gotten to the place early, or picked up a job and are working, and those things aren't working out as expected.
I complain a lot about work, and sure it could all be changed if I just left the job. But it's not a viable option for me so I just complain a lot. I've done a good job of just doing it on here and leaving it out of my house - Lucky you guys. I want to get a therapist while I'm on ML. They could probably not afford the position at all if they didn't limit it to 19 hours. If they're going to pay the benefits, they might as well make it a 40h/wk job. The days of slightly-greater-than-part-time-jobs are over. Benefits are more expensive to the employer than the wage in a 20h scenario.
I was up early today too! I woke up about 5 minutes before my alarm. It actually felt nice to get up and get going.
I think I'm just excited for this weekend. DH and I have date night tomorrow that my parents paid for and are taking B. It was a part of our Christmas present. I'm excited for some one on one with him. Plus they are taking B before nap tomorrow and keeping him til late morning Sunday!
Oooh, where are you guys going? Have fun!
We're doing dinner at our favorite restaurant and I'm having a drunkin monkey martini! Then off to the movies to see Unbroken I think. Not exactly a date night comedy but we've really wanted to see it. I'm hoping to make a pit stop at the home improvement store after we drop B off to get some of our flooring for our room. It's on sale right now. DH will love me! Or the grocery store! I'm a wild thing hey?

I want to be part-time so badly right now, but it actually seems much easier around here to find f-t positions.

We saw Unbroken on NYE and it was wonderful!! I really wished I'd read the book (story of my life) but... I'd highly recommend the movie. Have fun on your date!
I am FB friends with my wedding photographer; she's really talented and really expensive these days. She complains about potential customers and her general work every.single.day, and she's FB friends with all of her current and past clients!
She complains about being so overworked, but they are CLEARLY rolling in mega dough and they took 4 insane vacations last year. She's solely responsible for booking her jobs; she should taper back if it's too much. On top of everything, she seems to spend an insane amount of time on her Jamberry business. That just baffles me. I would think a woman who complains about dying from too much work would not start another venture, and if you do, you better shut your trap about being overworked. Nope, she just keeps going.
And she said those interested should follow her Jamberry fb page (after ranting about how she hates people selling stuff on fb), but she posts almost every day about fucking Jamberry. You're doing it wrong!
I follow some local photographers, and there's one who's just like this. Always complaining about clients, workload, etc. I don't think I'd ever book with her for that reason.
Thanks everyone! Unfortunately, it's a state job, & it's a grant, so you can't modify if once it's written. My thought process was that if I do that job for a year, I could potentially move into another role. :-)

This sounds like me. I'm completely ready before I even attempt to get the kids moving. But when you add in DS, who's whining about what he will/won't wear, DD who will sit on the potty for a lifetime and maybe go and then breakfast that stretches out like a 3-course meal, it's always still a little crazy.

Ditto. I'm just hoping if I "pay my dues" the next 5 years and I can approach my employer about part time at that point.
On Monday my SIL found out she had lost her third child, a baby girl. They have two boys and a baby girl is all they wanted. They struggled with even trying for a third due to financials but both boys are in school full time now so it was a good time. She was 18 weeks. They had an elective u/s the week before christmas and everything was seemingly fine. She delivered late Wednesday afternoon, we are still waiting on the autopsy results. My heart is just in pieces for them. Well, BIL and his new wife are due at the end of May. They had their a/s on Tuesday. It’s a girl. How did we (H & I) find out? FB. Her sister posted: "I was given permission to let ya'll know:” . . . it’s a girl . . . her name is . . . blah, blah. and tagged them. WTF? For so many things.
BILs wife was the first one to like it so it’s not like her sister did it without them being ok with it.
I commented on it. Just “Oh.”
H tests BIL: So, congrats on the baby girl? His response hours later — yea that. Then I find out they told MIL and FIL on Tuesday. I obviously get not telling SIL but us on Tuesday. But us finding out on FB? Maybe my emotions are just to mixed up in the loss or I'm being crazy but I am really bothered by the whole thing.

Good luck with this! Same dealio where I work--they are hiring literally no one at over 29 hours (their benefit cutoff). It's how they dealt with the new healthcare mandates--they aren't even being shy about saying so.
Would be awesome to cut your commute down and get to PT
Late loss mentioned.

Woah, that's confusing...maybe BIL and his wife felt uncomfortable posting themselves but felt they wanted to let family know? Maybe family was bugging them to find out? My mom's family congregates on Facebook, so I can get the impulse to put it there. Phone calls or texts might have been more appropriate, or waiting a little longer. At the same time, their pregnancy continues despite the loss in the family, so it's a tough balance.
FFFC: I love popping pimples. I know, it's so gross - but I get a lot of satisfaction out of doing it. Then I look in the mirror and I look like I got attacked by mosquitos.
We had a meeting this week, and I am worried about my job. I know it wouldn't be hard for me to find another one in my field - but I am up for a huge promotion in about 2 years so I am pretty bummed.
I lied about T's age last week to get into the science museum. I am glad I did because it was all a little too advanced for him anyways. $15 for a 2 year old to walk around and look at stuff is dumb anyways!

I am so sorry I was wondering what happened with the big reveal. I would have a hard time with the Facebook announcement, too. Good thoughts for your family.
Are the horse hopper things you all got for the kids for Christmas on Zulily today? Is that a good price? I feel like spending money today! I'll try to link it but not sure it will work.
Okay, so I have to buy a new car seat. Luci is forward facing now, so I am wondering what I should get? I was planning on her staying in her convertible for forever so this is new territory for me! Help?
You guys, the worst has happened, DH has a man cold. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@Stasi I would die if I didn't prep the night before. It makes my life so much easier.
@tinyhumantoe I will cut that bitch for you. You NEVER take a pregnant woman's food, especially ice cream. Once DH drank the last half of my McDonald's Coke when I was peeing for the 90th time in an hour. I came back from the bathroom, picked up the Coke, realized it was empty, turned to my husband with lethal death ray laser eyes and that fool jumped off the couch, grabbed the keys and drove to McD's for a new Coke.

Just so everyone knows GAP is having a 40% of sale even on clearance. Code: FUN.
I got B a few things for next fall/winter from there for $35.
I am so cheap, Gap clearance with extra percent off is even too rich for my blood. I guess since I find so much at the Goodwill for around $1 it'shard for me to cough it up. I need some new jeans since I ripped a hole in my favorite pair at the monster jam, but they are full price. I got mine on super duper clearance. Mannn!
@danabsd - I am very sorry for your family's loss. The announcement thing seems a bit weird, but maybe they figured that if her sister posted it that maybe not as many of your family members would see it? But that doesn't work when you tag the people in it. I'm really over-sensitive to finding out things like that over FB, so despite the other loss, I would probably just be mad that I wasn't at least sent a text. T&Ps with your BIL & SIL.
@willy_gert - For a FF car seat, we went with the Graco Nautilus (or I think there is also an Argos now which I think is the same seat). It eventually will convert to a booster and should be the last seat we need.
That said - sometimes I wish we would have just gotten another Diono for the thin profile and lower seat. But it's a bit more expensive.
Okay, so I have to buy a new car seat. Luci is forward facing now, so I am wondering what I should get? I was planning on her staying in her convertible for forever so this is new territory for me! Help?
We have the Britax Marathon and really like that. They have the new clicktight ones that are getting wonderful reviews. I know a lot of the other ladies have Radian's too.
Just realize you said FF sorry. Either of these would work but I'd go with something that's just for FF. Graco Nautilaus is supposed to be great.
I just ordered our kitchen hardware. DH doesn't know I pulled the trigger. It's supposed to be delivered Tuesday. I might just stay at work until bedtime that day.

I don't have any options around here for B unless it's Shopko or JCP. I like to get things at Once Upon a Child when we go to GB but it's a 2 hour drive. Our Goodwill never has anything cute, ever.

We have a Britax Boulevard and I really like it. My only complaint is that it doesn't have a cup holder. Sawyer needs a water with her at all times and if it's not in a water bottle then she spills it.

I rarely find cute stuff for E at Goodwill--though I find plenty of stuff for me. I'm a cashmere sweater whore and usually can snag them there. But the kids' stuff? I can get new stuff on sale at GAP or Old Navy or full-price at Target for a couple bucks more...why would I buy faded, stained stuff at that price?
Has anyone tried Isagenix? If so, is it worth the cost of the 30-day starter kit? I usually side-eye this kind of stuff, but a friend is swearing by it.
