  OP, if you're concerned, and you legitimately are a model, I'm sure you would want to protect your skin to keep you looking young longer.  Have you heard of "spray tans?"  They get the same look, less time, and less risk to you and umm that baby that you are so concerned about.

  Could be. But, it's not uncommon for people to say "effing." I thought about clarifying between the two possibilities, but am guessing the poster intended on effing based on her use of an.
  
  Regardless, she's ignorant and probably doesn't deserve to be given the benefit of the doubt.

  I'm a model as well but my agency would NEVER even ASK me to do that! That's what lighting, makeup artists, Photoshop and bronzer is for.
  If your agency is asking that, I would question their legitimacy and question whether or not they should represent me.

  Definite no to tanning beds (skin cancer, over heating baby, premature aging, etc). I can't imagine spray tans are all that "safe" either, especially during pregnancy, though I'm no expert in the subject matter. The creams and sprays are full of chemicals that are soaking into your skin. And don't forget, most spray tans are not vegan....
  
  Like PP said, if the job is worried about skin tone they can utilize lighting, makeup and Photoshop techniques to achieve the desired look.
