Hey guys might sound vain but screw it. Anyone have legit info on Pregnancy and tanning beds? I'm aware of obvious risks to my health but any risk to the baby? I can't find much info either way. I asked the Dr and he said he'd get back to me.

"Might sound vain but screw it"... That's a big turn off. Let's just all forget about the importance of being the protectors of our precious unborn children, because you know, being vain takes priority.

I would be worried about your temperature if you stay in for too long. As part of treatment for psorasis I was tanning at the doctors office and was told it was safe to continue to do so during pregnancy but I am only under the lights for a couple of minutes so there wouldn't be a risk of getting too hot.
Something my mom always told me... When in doubt, just don't. This applies to basically every dilemma in life. If you have to question if it's right, safe, acceptable etc... Chances are it isn't, you don't doubt good or sure things. But hey for the sake of vanity, tan your ass off.

@thedish0207 she was talking to me in regards to "turn on" because I said her comment was a turn off. Clearly this one isn't bright enough to know that was in regards to her intelligence.

For the record it is generally not recommended to tan during pregnancy, for three reasons specific to pregnancy issues: 1-can cause folic acid deficiencies-->think neural tube and neurological issues. Mostly a 1t issue. 2-can cause hyperthermia in the baby--bad for so many reasons in any trimester. 3-mom can pick up an infection from tanning beds via contact since pregnant women's immune systems are not as good during pregnancy.
Overall physicians don't recommend tanning at all due to increased risk of melanoma. The other non dangerous but potential occupational hazard for OP is that the tanning bed could exacerbate skin splotches or the mask of pregnancy which may not be apparent without excess sun exposure or even uv-free tanning.
The main ingredient in sunless tanners, DHA may cross the placenta and is generally avoided.
There are no good quality studies or data on this because in general tanning booths are not recommended to any patient for any reason. The risks outweigh the benefits for a purely cosmetic procedure with unknown harm to your unborn child. And obviously no one should consent to a research study where you are slathered in chemicals while pregnant to test self tanner.
OP should look into photoshop. Also most "pregnant" models are not actually pregnant. So the whole thing is a little MUDdy.
And OP, quit acting like a bitch. You don't get to storm the place, demand answers and call others the c word. Not classy at all.

There are some pretty wonderful self tanners on the market that don't carry the risk of skin cancer. It's just plain idiotic to take that risk especially when you are bringing a life into the world that will rely on you.
Also, do you even know about the extent of premature aging that tanning bed use can cause? As a "model" I think that portion would appeal to your vain sensibilities.
I model for a living. So when my agencies ask whether or not I'm able to get a tan for a maternity shoot I wanted an educated answer. Thanks to you with non judge mental answers the rest of you are miserable cunts. ♥️
So which category do I fall into non judge mental or miserable cunt? I thought my advice was valid
I'm probably a miserable cunt. Come sit by me

If you're a model then tell them to photoshop you a tan. They're going to photoshop 90% of you anyway.
Tanning is dangerous even to someone not pregnant. Why would you want to put your unborn child through that? Skin cancer is not something I want just to look tan. To each their own- but definitely find anyone who does it pregnant, stupid!
You came here asking for advice, don't get your panties in a bunch when you get answers you don't like.
You may be proud of your body but that doesn't mean everyone here wants to look at your naked body. I'm proud of mine but I have a lil more taste then to post a pic like that here.
Chick couldn't have been booking that many modeling gigs to begin with. Anyone in reasonably high demand would have had the cash to be able to go out and get herself a professional spray tan at a fairly reasonable price. And frankly any decent company and photog would be high end enough to shoop the images so she appeared tan.
She sounds a little less model and a little more trying to break into San Fernando Valley if YKWIM.

Well then spray tan you dumb ass
Seriously? ? You can't even use the spa while you are pregnant why would you even use a tanning bed. This is beyond being vain.
Wow....called a cunt AGAIN this pregnancy. :-? Anyone been keeping score on how often we've been called cunts, miserable bitches, skanks, etc? Just curious...... :-??
