I hit week 12 today which is wonderful for 2 reasons: yesterday would have been my due date with the first baby I lost. I was emotionally a-ok because I kept reminding myself that I am almost out of first Tri with our rainbow baby. It's also rad because I get to quit my progesterone supplement suppositories now. My formerly-drippy vag considers this a victory.
This signature is all for YOU. I'm on mobile and can't see crap.
I am starting to get very impatient to find out the sex of this baby. I want to buy clothes! And it's really hard to find cute gender-neutral stuff. The majority of the girl stuff has bows and hearts and little scalloped necklines and puffed sleeves, and a lot of the boy stuff gets ruined with little embroidered sports graphics or stupid slogans. Most places don't even have a gender-neutral category, and with the ones that do it's all white and grey and super boring.
I did find some colorful striped onesies at Carter's this weekend (on sale for $3-$4 ea.) And a little sweater and a pair of teeny cargo pants that look like DH's hiking pants. And a pair of footie pajamas with owls on them!

@petrichor14 do you think this will be your last baby? If not, I'd say try to buy neutral-ish things anyway. I already know my bean is a boy but I'm mostly choosing stuff Id put a girl in next pregnancy. I despise the little teddy bears and frogs and motorcycle shit anyway. But I've been eyeing light blue, turquoise and light and dark brown clothes (which I think are great colors on girls).

Oh man Baby Gap stuff is SO cute. The first thing I'm going to do when we find out the sex is run to the website and grab whatever is on sale (can't justify paying full price for any of it, but I wish I could!)

I do, actually. I'm not 100%, but at least 90% sure. We haven't talked about it much, so I'm not sure where DH is on that. But that's good advice, regardless (since you never know what'll end up happening.)
It snowed last night and is supposed to snow slightly all day. Not enough for a snow day, but enough that the kids will be hyper at school all day because they'll think they're going to get an early dismissal. And they won't. Sadness.
Maybe this is a symptom, maybe not, but I keep having random sharb, jab-like pains on the left side of my abdominal area. Basically in the lower left area of my left over chub from pregnancy #1. It's about 4 inches to the left and a half inch up from where the doctor held the doppler yesterday to find the HB.
Who knows WTF is there now since everything moves around, but I can only imagine it is coming from my intestines. It feels like there is a little monster in my intestines punching me really, really super hard. This little monster needs to stop punching me and focus on getting rid of whatever is in there.
have my NT scheduled for Jan 15! very excited and cautiously optimistic. and i laugh at all of you who complain about snow and cold. i'm in ottawa canada and it's -30 and EVERYTHING is ice. over the weekend we got about a foot of snow sealed under an inch of ice. good times.
Question: Am I wrong thinking that having a registry for a 2+ baby is ok, sharing/posting it isn't? I mean, coupons and free shit everywhere! Right? Wrong?
It's my second baby and I'm making one for the coupons and discounts. Plus I want to keep track of things I need.

I'm team it should not be this cold without snow on the ground.
I'm nervous about this LO being a boy...I have no idea what to do with
baby boys. Or toddler boys. I babysat a lot in my teenage and college
years and the youngest boy I sat for was 4 years old and a terror. He
would run around naked, screaming and peeing on things!

I am worried that this will be a girl.. I'm honestly not the girliest one around and I'd not know how to handle it if I had one..
I am not the girliest either. I find I have more male friends than female friends because I feel like the awkward one with the girls. Luckily DD is girly but not too nerdy. She likes what she likes and I have never tried to push "girly" things on her. It takes a while for personalities to form but I felt instantly bounded with DD and worry that if this LO is a boy I wont feel that way.
All this talk of registry reminded me that we need a new infant car seat and stroller. Maybe I will sign up just for the coupons. Also random question, with the convertible car searts, when do they move up to the third stage? DD is facing foward right now and weighs about 35 pounds.

Same, huge tomboy, hater of frilly and lacy here. I just know if I have a girl she will be one that wants to wear a tutu and crown everyday.
DD is like this. She is the definition of girly. Frills, jewelry, tutus, you name it. The more sparkly and ruffly the better.
Me not so much. Now on a special occasion I don't mind frilly and lacy and some things, but 99.5% of the time IDGAF about that at all. The most girly thing I do is makeup.
It was pleasantly surprising though how much I enjoy getting girly stuff for DD though.
I didn't expect to hear until next week, but I got my free cell dna test results today! I am 11w 1d and know I am having a boy and more importantly, that all the chromosomal abnormalities they tested for are negative. My mind is blown that they can know this stuff so early!!
@sandybananas I usually wear long sweaters, cardigans, long sleeve shirts that cover my butt, button up shirts that are long, but sweater and cardigans are my go to.

We got an enormous hospital bill from some of DH's health issues from last year and I just wanted to throw up. Thankfully, we will have it all paid off in about three months, but still. I hate money and I hate how much health care costs.

Tossed and turned all night had a very hard time sleeping. 11 weeks today and had second appointment , doctor felt nice and did another ultrasound so we got to see little baby again! Heart beat strong at 160! All is good besides being overly exhausted today.

Me too. My girl was never a girly girl (though pink is her signature color) and I just don't know what to do with swords and sticks and rocks and wrestling and action figures and fight play and pew pews and running/bouncing off the walls like every boy I know does. I have a feeling it's a boy though...
My hormones are being so crazy today. Everything makes me tear up! I watched a video this morning where this guy surprised his fiancee with a wedding since she was having a hard time planning theirs. Tears. I just went through the announcement thread and teared up again. OMG hormones, get it together!
@RWPhoenix Not sure what you mean by third stage, but she should stay in a harness as long as she is within the weight limits of the seat. Using the seat as a highback booster with a traditional seatbelt is more along the lines of 5years old ish. She needs to be mature enough to sit properly and not slump when she falls asleep. If you are on Facebook check out Car Seats for the Littles. It is an amazing resource!
Thank you! I meant when DD would move up to booster seat, guess I will have two little ones in car seats for a while *yikes* I will look into that Facebook group.

Just ate a bag of Skittles. Want another bag of Skittles.
@kristhegirl I read this and it reminded me of the bag of Skittles I bought on Saturday and threw in the zipper pocket of my purse and promptly forgot about. And now I am in Skittle heaven. I can share I guess...if you like the Wild Berry (purple bag) kind. B-)
My random...this morning, after reading all these randoms about registry AND having a dream that I registered for a million different strollers but ONLY registered for strollers...I am now slightly panicking about registering. I don't know where to register, where to start, what to pick ....WHAT DO I DO. Ugh. I have read some of the checklists and stuff but I just feel so lost in baby land.
@lovealwaysalison, are you near a BuyBuyBaby? They have registry consultants that will walk the store with you, offer advice and feedback from other customers. They will consider lifestyle and needs while registering. Plus the goody bag. And the completion coupon. If you are, you can make an appointment and start there. Babies R Us does a goody bag and possibly a coupon.

No...the closest one is almost two hours away. And the closest Babies-R-Us is an hour away. We have a Toys-R-Us but that's totally different right?

Usually I wear a long tank top under a tshirt or cardigan/sweatshirt or whatever so that the tank covers my ass!
GL to all you ladies with appointments today!
