@lovealwaysalison, are you near a BuyBuyBaby? They have registry consultants that will walk the store with you, offer advice and feedback from other customers. They will consider lifestyle and needs while registering. Plus the goody bag. And the completion coupon. If you are, you can make an appointment and start there. Babies R Us does a goody bag and possibly a coupon.
No...the closest one is almost two hours away. And the closest Babies-R-Us is an hour away. We have a Toys-R-Us but that's totally different right?
Some Toys R Us have a small Babies R Us within the store. Amazon can be a good place to start.
Baby needs a place to sleep, diapers, and food whether breast milk or formula in the beginning. And a carseat to come home in. Some states require it be an infant car seat. Some sleep and plays, onesies and something to swaddle baby in if they're so inclined IMO are also needed. A registry is also a kind of wishlist and a good way of keeping track of things.
My husband was so cute. He comes out to the kitchen this morning and says "I've been researching strollers, and I think we're going to have to get a bigger vehicle." And then sits down to start researching vehicles. Then I get an email with a link to a truck. Ummmm, we're only having one, love. Take it easy!
My DH kissed my tummy for the first time the other day. He felt for the baby (my hard ute) and then kissed it! So sweet. I'm actually starting to get excited for this!
getting my car inspected right now and there's a lobby talker. it's just the two of us in this small lobby waiting to get our cars checked out, and she insists on making conversation. sorry to be a grinch but I HATE when people do that... let me browse my phone in peace! I like to think I'm a generally very nice person but if you're trying to chat me up in a waiting room, on an airplane, or on the bus, I WILL side eye you and put my headphones in.
Ew. I hate talking to strangers. LEAVE ME ALONE.
I third this. I try to look as unapproachable as humanly possible.
I still am fighting the flu. Lucky for me DH will be coming home early to take over DD, and DD is taking an extra long nap. Not so lucky for me: I promised DH I'd stay hydrated today, but haven't had anything since he left. I now have cracked, bleeding lips. I think he'll know. Damn.
I was driving to get Chipotle for lunch and John Mayer came on singing "Your Body is a Wonderland." I instantly thought to myself how my body is not a wonderland and my stomach has decided to sprout some sort of peach fuzz. So sexy.
Funny I heard that song the other day and didn't feel like a wonderland

FFTC: My body decided to grow something a little darker than peach fuzz on my belly, so I may have shaved it last week... It hasn't grown back noticeably yet, so I think shaving it was a good call! I'll probably have to shave it again at some point, but a few minutes of shaving is much better than walking around feeling like a gorilla! Lol.
Have you ever had one of those days, certain things annoy you or piss you off. Today is one of those days, I know people in stores love to help and everything but like 6 people have come up to ask if I needed help, one of them has come up multiple times and I'm at the point where I just want to say "If I need your help, I will ask" I can't even look in peace lol.

I hate that and getting asked 75 times before checking out if I want to get their credit card. I DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR STUPID DISCOUNT JUST LET ME LIVE.
Ugh yes.

Confession, UO? Whatever (and I'll forget by Thursday). I think any manner of gender reveal party is silly. A whole party just to tell people "It's a boy/girl?" I just don't get it. I'm not even a fan of the gender reveal photoshoot. Basically I don't know why it needs to be a surprise? Frankly, in a way, I don't care that much myself. I just want a baby to love on and care for, and whatever sex he/she is I'll be happy. It's almost like an elementary school graduation complete with caps, seriously? Or trophies for all participants, we make too big of a deal of things these days.
My cousin did a gender reveal party and it brought tears to my eyes (pre-pregnancy). I would probably do one, but I don't live near anyone, so it isn't worth it for us. I'm not doing a gender reveal photoshoot either, but I think maybe a maternity photoshoot would be nice.
As for the elementary school graduation, though I agree it isn't a graduation, it might be cute to compare that photo to the one of them graduating high school. And trophies for participation do totally suck. "Here's a trophy for being one of the pack"
@SlurpeeLove I have two friends that are good photographers and when I was pregnant with DD one of them did some nice maternity shots for me. Will probably do it again with this LO. As for gender reveal, I just told everyone on FB.
Well, I've been called an asshole and a fucking bitch today by two lovely patients. Just for, ya know, doing my job. Oh and for not being a drug dealer. Didn't get a lunch break and found out my patient schedule was almost doubled for the rest of the week, without even asking. So I'm guessing there will be no lunch any day this week. And now I'm really sad about mistabinx's terribly sad news.
I think I might stop by the grocery store after the gym so I can make @wineandwalter's oreo balls. And maybe pick up some donuts. Gonna go back now and see what all you ladies have been up to. I hope you're all staying warm!
I am sorry you are having a rough day. I work in the ER and have to deal with drug seeking patients everyday, it is really amazing the lengths some people will go to in an attempt to get narcotics
Just got back from my NT scan!!! I almost peed everywhere because they had to push and move me so much. Baby was NOT cooperating. Buuuut 30 min later she got a measurement. Low risk and baby is measuring perfectly. Heart rate 160!!! Yay! Going to announce on Facebook tonight!

Ugh I'm sorry your having a crappy day, name calling is uncalled for and my mom was a nurse and she told me a lot of stories about how rude people can be. (Hugs)

I have a few random thoughts that are bothering me...
To quit or not to quit my job is the question. I've been here about 4 months, I got contacted by a talent recruiter for another company, we had a phone interview, in-person interview is in two days and NOW I'm having applicant's remorse, lol. I think I applied for this new job because I'm feeling bored at this one, but maybe I need to give it more time. Plus I have my upcoming leave to consider-I might not have it at the new job....now I'm like should I go to this interview anyway or nah? *begins pulling hair*
I also have been on diapers.com and I am like "why are there so many milk and diaper choices" I felt like my head was about to explode. I think it's time for me to go home for the day and stress more about things there...
I love my husband, he's picking me up French toast sticks with syrup from sonic and tator tots with cheese. I am so excited :x
CHILI CHEESE TOTS ARE LIFE BLOOD.
I'm yelling a lot today. It's appropriate.
I had chili with tater tots for dinner last night! Been one of my staples lately.

What do you wear on top? Dresses feel too long and just dislike wearing dresses in general (and I SAH so no need to look professional). Shirts are too short and show the butt/hoo-ha in all its leggingness. I ordered some tunics online that looked like potato sacks so I returned them. I have one pair of maternity jeans that fits but I don't do laundry often enough to keep up with them getting stretched from wearing. I have a hard life. Please help. What do you wear/where did you get it?
@sandybananas My favorite website for learning style is kikilarue.com. It is an online boutique, but follow them on social media for frequent coupon codes. Tunic length is usually what I aim for with leggings. But for staying home, a longer tee or hoodie would work too.

lovealwaysalison you can test drive strollers at Babies R Us. No, probably not at Toys R Us. I stalked Amazon reviews and then went to the store to make sure I liked them, then bought on Amazon because they were almost always cheapest.

Dh is mad because I said I did not want to eat/cook dinner. He is now making bacon and fried potatoes the two greasy nasty things that always make me want to barf without fail since being pregnant. I cannot even stand the smell of them cooking.
I am terribly nauseated and excruciatingly constipated. Now he wants to torture me with greasy stink.
DH and our cousin who lives with us are both work in late tonight. Excited about eating cpk bbq pizza AND a side of mashed potatoes, watching Downton Abby, and not having to wear a bra I really need a night off anyway - my NT scan is tomorrow and I'm a nervous wreck. It's been so heartbreaking reading all of the loss posts today. Praying for those ladies...
Married to DH since 2010, TTC since 2012

Unexplained IF, 3 rounds clomid= BFN, IUI+femara 2/14 = BFN, IVF 5/14 = BFP! MMC 7/14. FET 10/31/14= BFP!!! 2 gestational sacs, one baby with a heartbeat. Praying for our little bean sprout!
Well, I think the randoms thread is a good place for a rant.
I moved states and have to get my car inspected before switching the license and registration. The place I was going to is a 30 minute drive away, no big deal, but not super convenient.
On Friday I show up for my appointment and they tell me the inspection guy just didn't show up (one wasted trip). I reschedule for Monday and DH has to do it since I was starting work again. They found enough things to fail our car, and they have to fix the problems. They tell DH it will be a few hours. After DH waits a few hours, he walks back and they say they can't finish, so they provide a rental. Today (Tuesday) DH and I have a big fight (involving me crying at work while we discuss it) about who should have to go return the rental and pick up our car. I end up doing it. I call before leaving work to make sure the car is ready. They say it is. I get there and the car is not ready. They say come back tomorrow (Wednesday). Ugh, this has now turned into a four day affair with a needless fight! So upset! And rant over.
The rental car guy was really nice after I returned the car and turned right around to get the car again. I asked him for a good local food recommendation to make the pointless trip up more worth it. He recommended a great Indian place and it was AWESOME! Yay for something good to come from this : )
I really think I have a bump now (I'm 15 weeks)! I can't suck it in, and people are noticing. For some reason it makes me really happy (even if most of the bump isn't baby).
I may or may not be camped out in the bathroom because I have five minutes left of work and I don't want to take anymore phone calls. This lady in the stall next to me is hacking up a lung like something disgusting. She just left and she didn't wash her hands. ewwww. My gag reflex is serious right now.
I have a bathroom right by my desk (which is also our "front desk" so someone is here to sign for deliveries, we hardly ever get walk-in clients) and I'm pretty much the only one who uses it. Well...we are right next to a doctor's office and a little old lady came in today asking to use our bathroom because the doctor was running late from lunch. Well....this little old lady was in there for close to 25 minutes...and I could pretty much hear it all (I'll spare you) and then she didn't wash her hands, spray any spray OR close the door. I thought for sure I was going to lose it, which I really did not want to do in that particular bathroom so I had to run elsewhere in the office. Ugh.
ETA: I think it's worth mentioning the doctor next door is a medical pot doctor. So this little old lady was there to get her card to go get some pot. Which I totally support if it helps you out....but it's always funny to see all the different types of people going in and out of there.
Guys, I have a question: Would it be tacky to have my brother announce by giving him a shirt that relates to him being an uncle for his birthday? His birthday is on the 9th and I think it would be a funny way to let my entire family know since I won't be getting a photo til the end of February.
I have 9 brothers and 2 sisters, in case that matters in a way to giving opinions and/or suggestions.
Oh man I just got home from work a little while ago and when I walked through the door all I could smell was dog poop. My dog has only pooped in the house one other time since we've had him (since he was 8 weeks old). And there was a few piles of throw up, too. Thankfully minutes after I got here, my husband pulled up because I was outside throwing up unable to deal with it at all. My dog seems fine, totally happy and bouncing around but I'm worried about him. He isn't the type that eats things, and we didn't leave any food our candy out anyway....frustrated that he can't talk and tell me what's wrong.
I had to kick my SO out of the house tonight. He's probably at the bar. All because he wouldn't change the channel off of the soft porn. He's in our living room and we have a roommate due home anytime. So he turns up the volume just to annoy me. So I turn it down and he turns it back up. So I go to unplug the cable box and the motherfucker tells me not to do that because "you don't want me to get physical with you." WTF?! I'm pregnant with your child, douche. So now I'm sitting on the couch crying. Yay.

I got the remark last night during dinner, "but you're barely even pregnant" -.-
um sweetheart, we are about third of the way done with this pregnancy and the past twelve weeks have been miserable.
I just nodded.
Not so lucky for me: I promised DH I'd stay hydrated today, but haven't had anything since he left. I now have cracked, bleeding lips. I think he'll know. Damn.
