@tinyhumantoe, have you looked into in-home daycare like on care.com or something? I just think it might be less psychotic than the schedule you're dealing with now.
Super weird, but there were hardly any options on care.com. I did find a couple on craigslist that I contacted. None of them had openings for a 2.5yo and newborn. We are going to keep looking. I figure we have to have something lined up for starting in May, before her first vacation.
How much notice is nice to give a daycare provider once we decide to switch? A month? Two?
I gave the daycare a month's notice but I think even 2 weeks would be acceptable.
They're in your price range! Shipping is free on Wayfair (sign up for 10% off first order). You can get color swatches super fast from the manufacturer's website (I think either gray or charcoal would look really nice with your bedspread). The nail heads on mine are all individual nail heads, not some cheap strip thing. I can show you pics of mine tomorrow if you're interested in seeing it.

Our center requires two weeks. I'd be inclined to give an in-home a month, but if you can't, oh well in this situation.
DH picked up books and books of paint colors from the store yesterday. I have to decide what color to paint at least 10 rooms in our new house in the next 4 weeks or so. I am completely overwhelmed.
Anyone want to do it for me?
I would do the entire house the same color (a light grey) and pick a few rooms for a pop or slightly different shade- formal dining, master bedroom, playroom. And let Brody pick his room color (within reason).
That's what I'm leaning towards right now. The open great room/kitchen/eat-in kitchen will probably all be a light gray. (Of course there are a million grays to choose from, but I'm trying not to over-complicate it)
But it's all the other rooms that start adding up. The dining room might just end up being grey, but then I have 3 bathrooms I wanted to do something with, playroom, boys bedrooms and our bedroom. So, I guess that's only 7 other rooms/colors if I do the entire main living area the same color. I'll probably paint the laundry room later, but that's another one I'll have to decide on later.
I like white bathrooms. Clean and fresh but a light grey that matches the rest of the house would work for the same feeling. I do not like houses that have a different color in every room, I prefer just a couple of key rooms and the rest to be the same.
If it's in a room with a lot of light - Sherwin Williams "rainwashed" is one of my favorite paint colors.

They have such cool things--I don't know why I didn't think of Wayfair. I have $22.12 credit to use there too!

I would go based on whatever your original contract states. Mine asks for a month because she is a small in home. An on site daycare? 2 weeks, just like a job.

@kelbel527 We are currently redoing our house in Porpoise by Behr. It's a really light grey, with a bit of a purplish undertone. I've tried taking pictures but it hasn't turned out at all.
I think the notice depends on the reason and the contract. Everywhere we have attended (only centers) have required 2 weeks. When we were leaving because we were moving I gave over a month's notice, pretty much as soon as we knew the exact date, I told them. When we moved because of an incident that I wasn't comfortable with, we gave a week notice and they accepted that. When we moved because we found a place that was a better fit, I gave two weeks notice.
As soon as you find a place, I would try and move her as soon as they will let you (both the old and new place). If you are on a waiting list with a guaranteed start date, you can give a little more notice but if the new place can get her in, you may as well start as soon as the old contract lets you out.

Because seriously, how could I find something in my budget for once?!
I was thinking leather too. My cat scratches fabric like crazy, reason we now have a leather couch. My previous cat only scratched leather, reason my leather wingbacks need to be redone.

I love this color, thanks @tyrannasaurusjess! That looks like what I had in mind for our great room/main living area.
@kdsmith - I also love that color that you posted. I'm trying to figure out if there is a room in our house we can use that in. Our eat in kitchen has a ton of light, and it might look really nice in there. Great suggestion.
Did anyone have a nursing necklace you loved? I'm getting super irritated with my hair and shirt peing yanked all the f-ing time.
I lot of people on here recommended Boubeads. They are pretty but I wasn't a huge fan of mine, but most everyone loved theirs. I liked the fabric covered ones and had a few from this shop
It was definitely the longest day ever. Which is why I just spent 20 min readig this. I should probably pack up and go home now. I just needed a few minutes.
Hey! How's it going? I managed to get super sick before DH's surgery and take a week off work. DH is home and doing well, but there were some complications at the hospital. My dad thinks we should talk to a lawyer, just to make sure it doesn't happen to anyone else, but DH isn't convinced.

Sorry you were sick, (and that your DH had issues) but glad to hear he's doing better.

Hi! Keagans party was awesome! I really had never even been to the place that we booked, but they took care of everything! The kids had so much fun! For the most part they all used ramps, so make sure the alley has some. We had 3 lanes and opened them all up, as more people arrived we just added their name to a lane, instead of wasting time waiting for everyone to get there. We did cake and presents after the first game, and then had time for a second game afterwards.
Hi yall. I helped throw a kick ass surprise 40th NYE party for my BFF, holidays are over and the rooms are done - 90% done. Gosh, what will I do now? TV, bonbons, and shopping plus more time with yall are on my list now.
Get ready for the baby!!! J/k you probably are.... How much longer do you have? My RCS is Saturday @-) I am not quite ready. Still have to bring up the swing and bouncer, wash their covers, get the RNP & Ergo from my sister and tub from my cousin. And I have to pack overnight bags for the boys. And work 3 more days. And finish my report cards. Ahhhh! Super stressed over here!
@dimples12 My problem is that I have so many little work projects going on that I can't seem to complete one of them. All need to be done by my last day, which is Thursday. I keep working on each of them equally and then move to the next for awhile. Not very efficient. Very ADD. And my sub spent all of yesterday (and today & tomorrow) shadowing me and asking ?s. I know it's for the best and it's totally her own time, so I'm very grateful she wants to see what it's really like in my room. But I had planned on having some time to work while the kiddos were at specials and lunch, and my plan time at school is now explaining everything there is to know about 4th grade and then some. I felt like I talked allllll day. There is a teeny tiny light at the end of the tunnel and it's called Friday. I took it off to get a pedi (and probably a mani too after this crazy week) with my sister. I'm going to run errands and do some Xmas returns. Basically finalize everything. Also my cleaning lady is coming so my house will be clean!!
I just have to get through these next few days and more importantly my 38wk appt & fluid check which is today. I didn't make it past this appt last time. So cross everyone cross your fingers for me

Sorry it didn't go perfectly smoothly, but so glad to hear your DH is home now and doing OK. Hope you're feeling better too!
I caught up on this finally. Just in time for Tuesdays thread.
We have so many different colors in our house. all a variation of white. So annoying. Bathroom is a grayish tint. Entrance is a lavender tint. Kitchen an off white tint. Not one wall that I thought was white is actually white. We need to paint the whole house. I just am incapable of picking colors.
@willy_gert, I would definitely tell you to talk to a lawyer.
When my Dad has his knee replaced (like in 1996?) there were so many complications & then blood clots, that he ended up in the hospital for 6wks. There was notes made in the chart about how the surgeon had discussed this with my parents (never happened) and 3 years later he was sued for the same thing. Ended up losing his license, as 3 of his patients died all from the same complications.
It's just better to be safe than sorry. And a discussion doesn't mean that you're going to sue or anything like that. But it's best to get all the facts out there and see what an expert has to say. :-)

Glad it went well! I think we're only going to do one game with the kids, but I love the idea of just starting lane by lane as people arrive. I put a note on the invite to come early if possible, but I am sure people won't all be there at the start time.
