We have been telling our family and friends along the way from week 5 until Christmas. This was our FB announcement that we just put out today. DH is a pilot, hence the airplane stuff. We are Team Green but I buy ALL the airplane things I can find, even if they are 'boyish'. I figure if it's a girl, we can plop a bow on her head and call it good!!
I made aprons for my in-laws and SIL (which I was planning to do anyway as a crafty-but-inexpensive gift) for Christmas. When we found out, I added the idea of names on the apron.
By the gifting point in the evening, we were almost bursting to tell them, so they knew "something" was up when we handed them the packages with grins and told them to open them at the same time. They were really surprised!
I also made little fridge frames for the ultrasound pics (to be updated with each new pic) for them and my family.
Unfortunately SIL had to work and is coming home for Christmas this weekend, so we've all had to keep quiet for an extra week. We're dying for her to see her apron and find out our surprise too!
We are announcing a little different to each individual person we went and saw my BIL and apologized for bringing a third person. My in laws have an outstanding joke that when they moved crossed state lines they had another kid. We just moved states so we're using that. My mom gets a puzzle that says your going to be a grandma. Everyone else I've pretty much spilled the beans I'm way too excited this is our first!
Just posted tonight! My husband insisted we use our cat, Bob, as part of the announcement. We inherited him when we bought our house, and he's a big part of our family now. So now the cat's finally out of the bag!
DH posted this last night, even though I wasn't happy with the quality of the picture! (I'm anal like that) But he's been dying since day one to announce.
This was our announcement. I'm 11 weeks and 5 days and finally felt comfortable enough to put it on FB, especially because I had a mc in August at only 6 weeks. I love seeing everyone else's announcements!
Posting this on FB after my appointment on Tuesday! My son refused to stand and smile for a photo. This was the best out of 50+ photos.
I love the ones where it appears the older sibling/only child is upset that mommy is having a baby! (Even if they just don't cooperate for the pic) I love the screaming babies with the eviction notices on their crib. That probably makes me sound horrible I just think they're hilarious!
Just posted ours on Facebook! I had already sent out Christmas cards out to close friends and family with an additional baby stocking hanging from the mantel.
