I know a boy named Stone. His last name is Hickey. (Smh) I currently have 2 brothers in my daycare name Ajax and Achillies. We've had an Ebihlin (Gaelic for Evelyn). I am very sick of Katie/Kaitlyn and every possible spelling of it. And Isabella/Bella.. just completely over used.
I hate crazy off the wall names like Ryot. I have a niece named Nevaeh Horyzon which is atrocious... and one of my friends just named their daughter Brogan. I just can't get down with that.
Brogan? That's terrible. Even worse that it's a girl name.

I don't like a lot of names...lol. I'm country and I still find names like Rope, Riggin, Katchem, Kinch, Roper, and Tuf a little ridiculous. There are plenty of country names without sounding like a damn redneck. Lol and for girls, I love my niece to pieces, but my brother named her Aerith. If you google it, you'll get where he got it from and why I roll my eyes. Lol

Some of these are really not just myths. I don't care what snopes or the social security office says. Whatever parents write on school paperwork and whatever they tell their kids will be what sticks as far as names go. My friend did her student teaching in a school that had 3 kids with weird names.... Orangejello, lemonjello, and shithead (shi-teed).
I work at a middle school now and we have a student named Charles Norris, but everyone calls him Chuck. It never gets old hearing "Chuck Norris to the office, please" over the intercom.

My daughters name is Isabella...and I didn't get why everyone rolled their eyes until about 6 months after she was born and I seen Twilight. But, she is named after her great grandmother, so I stand by her name, but totally get why people don't like it.

Bullshit to those of you claiming to know a Le-a. The Social Security Administration had no record of this name ever being used, although there are records of Ledasha.
ETA - same with La-la. Bull. Shit.
I don't know how you explain what was filled out on medical paperwork with a social security number to snopes...

^ This. Orangejello, Lemonjello, and Shithead are long standing urban legends. I remember getting an email about it when I was a teenager and chain letters were still a thing.

Not just urban legends, but ones steeped in racism and regionalism.
I'm not a fan of the 'den' names. Aiden, Jayden, Brayden, Caden and the 1000 different spellings that go with them.
THIS. And many parents that name their children this think it's not a popular name because it's not in the top 10. Well yes, because misspelling them is also super popular. My nephews name is Braidyn (

My sister worked at a car dealership with a man named Richard Stuck. They would purposely page him overhead "Dick Stuck to the front desk". Eventually management forced them to use Richard.

We have a family friend that had 3 girls and 2 boys. The girls were Johnny, Kyle, and Shawn. The boys were Kelly and Leslie. And no, I didn't accidently reverse those. She said she wants to prove that names didn't have to be gender specific.
For some reason, the ministry I work for has to bed of regional staff with names that could go either was e.g. Kelly, Leslie, Laurie, etc and I'm always messing up when I have to get in touch with them. Drives me nuts

I'd say names that irritate me the most are the "son" endings for girls names along any other boy names used for a girl. I also cannot stand unisex names. I never understood why you'd want a teacher, potential boss, Dr office, etc to not know whether they are looking for a male or female.
I knew a Target stores manager once named Daiquiri - it was spelled differently, like with a 'k' or something.
When I was a kid, there were this brother and sister that went to my school named Alpha and Omega....although if I remember correctly, Omega was the oldest. Oops!.
@chelts202 - it gets under my skin because of the bigotry that runs underneath these stories. I mean, there's no doubt no name is to everyone's taste and you won't catch me naming my daughter or son North or Apple, but I have a very hard time seeing Le-a and Oranjello claims as anything other than outright racist, even if the person who is telling the story genuinely believes the tale.
@ktrue85 - Mignon is a legitimate French name, although not one I particularly like.
Also, I'd rather see a million Shaquandas and Lawandas than another Brayleigh, Brantley, Reagan, Bentley or Camden.
I kind of like the name Regan but spelled and pronounced properly. I used to work in a group home for pregnant and mothering teens and there were a lot of awful names. Nevaeh made an appearance more than once. There were also a lot of Trinity's, Serenity's, Lexie's (Alexis) and Destiny's. And plenty subbed a y for an i or an e and lots of other crazy spellings. Some of them combined their name with the dads to come up with the baby's name. There were a whole lot of badly named babies that came out of that place.
I used to do nature tours for schools and heard a few interesting ones. Sweetheart (girl), Lovely (Love for short, boy) and Epic (boy) stand out.
The problem is, I don't judge them because most of those names are from immigrant families, who have really specific naming traditions in their language/ home country that don't translate super well.
I more side-eye special names from people who have no reason for changing spellings, or just making a name up for no reason. Nevaeh is probably my least favourite.
I just remembered a girl I went to middle school with was Sunshine Hooker. It's like her parents were wanting their daughter to be a stripper bc she wouldn't even have to change her name!
I had a coworker name her son Barron.... But spelled it Bearon because he was her little bear.. Seriously. I also dislike Neveah. Also anything spelled younique lol. My old roomates stepson was named Justen. The parents were both highschool dropouts and thought they were being creative but it just looked like they couldnt spell their childs name and people made fun of them because of this
But on the positive side names i really love are ones who keep with their ethnicity or heritage (like old french names, italian names etc) they are different and unique in a world of "younique" names and have deeper meanings
