What day of the week is it??? Friday Randoms

So DH has been overall really great with the occasional ridiculousness and annoying me. He's been super patient and has given me breaks when I need them.

He had been off from work since Christmas Eve though and is making me nervous now. He is legitimately getting angry at LO for crying and it's been getting worse each day.

She's 7 weeks old and pretty much needs to be held at all times. She won't nap unless she's in your arms and when you're holding her!and she's fussy, she likes to be walked around (she can tell when you sit). I don't know what to do because he's starting to yell at her or wants to let her CIO. He says it's ridiculous and she needs to "cut it out" he's also mad that she still won't take a bottle.

I don't know if it's just being home 24/7 for the past week, or what... But I honestly am looking forward to him going back to work on Monday :-/

@crizz13‌ - I'm sorry DH isn't handling the fussiness well. This is pretty much the peak for fussiness (or so I hear) so it should *fingers crossed* start to tone down. He needs to remember that our LOs are adjusting to their life on the outside just like we're adjusting to having them here.

hopefully once he goes back to work it will get better

@crizz13‌ I'm sorry ): my FI told our LO to calm the f down earlier twice while I was cooking dinner. I told him if he couldn't handle it he could cook dinner and fold the laundry. He stopped bitching then.

I'm with you on what day it is (title).. I saw people commenting on the Tuesday randoms thread earlier and had to lock my phone to see what day it actually was.

10 more minutes of rocking this little guy to make sure he's out, and I'm off to bed. Hopefully for the night (prolly not gunna happen)

I hope everyone gets some sleep tonight!

@crizz13‌ - I am sorry he is having a hard time with LO crying. This is a frustrating week because they start to notice their surroundings and environment more. My pediatrician says that these are the fussy weeks because they become over stimulated easily by their environment. She recommended that I try to bring him to a quiet dark place and soothe him. It worked during those huge crying fits. Also mirrors kept him distracted.

I can't sleep, DH is snoring very loud. Usually it doesn't bother me but I feel so restless. I have decided tonight will be my last dose of the pain medication. I will try to manage with motrin and tylenol. I read up on the side effects and feelings of depression is one of them. I would rather be sore than feel like this anyday. Also I don't want to risk becoming dependent on them. Narcotics scare me. I don't trust them.

LO is not sleeping well tonight. I got him to sleep at 11, he was up at 11:30 and now he's back up at 1:30. DH actually had to wake me up because I'm so tired I was sleeping through it. Sleep baby, sleep!

Sorry for the husbands who aren't dealing with the fussy babies very well. This point in life is really hard.

My good sleeper has been a bad sleeper lately so I haven't been on much. It's to the point I'm so tired MOTN I don't want to put on my glasses or pickup my phone during a feeding. Dang babies

My DH gets frustrated too with the fussiness, he really tries but I can tell it overwhelms him sometimes. The same goes with the bottle feeding. LO hates the bottle and it is a struggle for her to eat from it. I can tell he is done with the situation when he says "Ellie Stop" very stern. It makes me angry when he gets frustrated with her, I want to tell him to breathe she is a baby and this is what they do.. They don't have logical thoughts yet, chill.. But I will hold my tounge and just tell you all.

Men just don't get it sometimes! LO has her fussy time and unfortunately it correlates with when DH gets home. I feel bad that the majority of the time he gets to spend with her she's crabby. The other day he said, "I'm pretty sure she hates me." Um, no, 7 week olds don't have those kind of emotions. They just don't get it.

Have a great night sleep, everyone! I actually got up to pump so I won't be so engorged when LO does it up in a couple hours!

My DH sometimes gets frustrated when DS cries that he will start rocking him hard that I have to tell him that is a little too hard. That drives me crazy! Then he compares DS to DD which also drives me crazy.

On a side note anyone's sex drive completely low to nonexistent? I feel bad for DH because he wants it a lot and I am just not feeling it right now. I'm just so tired but DH is now taking it personally.

I don't know why but LO will just not sleep tonight unless held. I've only slept from 1030-1130, 1230-230, and 330-4. I wouldn't be so mad except I know I won't get a nap tomorrow because ds1 will be home (even though he could be at preschool but won't since DH felt bad taking him since a lot of his friends are not there with the holidays so he asked ds1 if he wanted to stay home).

H has been throwing up all night. I feel so bad bc tomorrow is his 30th. Im losing patience with our dog bc she is all out of sorts since Im up feeding and H is up puking and she wants to play.

I'm sorry, sex drive? What's that? Pretty sure I lost that somewhere between the episiotomy and sleep deprivation.

It's true. I got frustrated with DS yesterday because of breastfeeding. He was latching perfectly on the right and I tried to put him on the left, he just screamed. He did not want the left and i did not have anything left in the right. I didn't yell but I definitely was a little more stern. I just said that if he was hungry he would have to cooperate with me so I can feed him. I had DH take him for a second. I felt like a jerk.

Random question for anyone who has had surgery before. Any issues with after having a breathing tube placed? I lost my voice and my throat is so very sore. It has gotten progressively worse. They said it would be but it would be better after a few days. I return to work on Monday and 90% of my job is on the phone. I am praying it gets better by then. I can't tell if it is viral.

My DH is better at dealing with the baby's crying than I am as well. I will totally lose my mind in my head and start crying and thinking how I'm such a failure as a mom, etc. DH seems to handle it much better. He goes back to work next Monday and I'm dreading it so so much.

@Becks517‌ DH told me on a day I was struggling that men have it easier because they do go to work and aren't with the baby all day. Apparently it was a lunch discussion for him and the men he works with.

I have to confess, I am all kinds of excited about returning to work. Not that I don't enjoy being home with DS but I just miss the social interactions and dressing up lol. I am nervous too.

I go back to work Monday. Definitely mixed emotions! Ready to get back and do something besides laundry, dishes, feed children, and chase toddlers!

I had emergency surgery right after LO was born and I had a terrible throat /voice after. I told my Dr and they prescribed some lozenges that worked SO good and fixed it almost immediately. Maybe ask your dr if you can get some? I'm not sure if they were special somehow or if some over the counter would work just as good.

LO has eczema really bad on her face and I put Aquafor on it last night and it seems WAY better this am. Man I love that stuff! I use it on everything!!!

Gave LO a bottle of expressed milk last night in order to keep him used to the bottle since he starts daycare Monday...he drank all 4 oz and was still starving! He didn't rush bottle (took 20 min) and then nursed for 10-15 min more. Wth? Seems like a ton? Upside he slept 10:30-2:45!! Should I be worried he hasn't been getting enough? He has tons of wet/dirty diapers and good weight gain. Now I'm worried about him getting enough at daycare.

Ladies I think it's totally normal to get frustrated I definitely felt like the worst mother ever when I got so mad at LO that I actually told him to shut up

As for sex, I wish! I'm at 7 1/2 weeks PP and I'm still not healed down there I'm afraid because my midwife said that I may have to end up getting another surgery to fix whatever the heck is going on down there because at six weeks all of my stitches still had not dissolved...the midwife had to pull some out -TMI I know

On a happy note, LO FINALLY took a bottle from DH...he was starting to get upset that the baby didn't love him yadda yadda yadda...

I'm definitely the one that gets more frustrated with fussiness. I think it has to do with my anxiety. Last week when he was inconsolable DH was able to bounce him to sleep on the yoga ball while I was almost having a panic attack. I'm working on doing better, reminding myself that all babies cry and that it should go down after the "period of purple crying" is over. Just as a heads up- our fussiness seemed to peak a little later than what is suggested by the literature, more like 7.5-8.5 weeks.

Well, Beckham officially hates sleeping curled up next to me now:( He would always sleep on his side facing me while he was in my arms... not anymore. After I got him out of his bed at 4:30, I left him in bed with me. He kept pitching a fit when he was next to me, so I put him on his stomach and he fell asleep. Boo. I am terrified to seep with him in the bed if he isn't in my arms. Time to get the cosleeper out!

Just let LO cry for 10 minutes so I could do a quick sweep of the house with clorox wipes and strip our bed since husband has the flu. He cried himself to sleep and I feel like a jerk. Baby cried himself to sleep that is. Husband Nyquiled himself to sleep.

We have a trip to Germany scheduled in a couple weeks and it occurred to me that I'll have to clean the pump parts and bottles. At home we use the sanitizer bags in the microwave and then boil once a week. Any suggestions for traveling? The hotel room won't have a microwave. LO will be 9 weeks at that point.

@howin23‌ how long will you be gone. Can you use a wipe during the day and just clean with soap and water in the evening

I feel like the worst mom today. Ds1 has been defiant all day with multiple trips to time out. He is also fighting pooping on the potty even though it is obvious he needs to go. I feel like I've been disciplining him all day and ignoring LO, which might be ds1s objective- bad attention is still attention. Just can't figure out how to combat it.
