I've been keeping my urine collection jugs in the garage (more space, more sanitary, and the lab tech and nurse okayed it yesterday). It's below freezing and I have some well frozen pee now. I'm really worried that it somehow will compromise the results of the test and I'll have to do another 24 hour catch to get an accurate result. Stupid thing to worry about, frozen pee.
It seems I've started having bed time naps. I go to sleep at my usual time, then wake up anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour later. And then I'm awake forever before I can fall asleep again.
We are home, and are struggling to find things that fit baby safely while sleeping. I didn't buy too many newborn things, figuring they would probably be too small/a waste, and now I'm regretting that decision! Looks like a Target trip is in my future today! Baby girl is a peanut.
@LaBellaVida - if you hear a knock at your door soon, it's me, looking for a sandwich. Thanks in advance.
Tonight / this morning I've started getting very similar cramping to two weeks ago when I had to go to l&d for preterm labor... Nothing super consistent or a pattern yet, but I'll def be calling my doc in the am. I've been off nifedipine now for 4 days and I'm pretty sure I lost my mucous plug on Sunday. Maybe we'll have a NYE baby and maybe this is nothing. It'd be nice if she could wait a few more days to 37 weeks, but if baby girl's done cooking then I guess she's done!
Any other morning @LaBellaVida 's sandwich maker would sound heavenly! I'm jealous! But I've been so nauseated since 10:30 last night and my body can't figure out if it wants to be hot or cold. I really hope I didn't pick up a stomach bug...
I've been awake since 4 because of my husband. He was trying to tell me that the heat in the bedroom zones wasn't working. Of course that woke me up seeing that it is in the single digits this morning and frozen pipes would be all bad. The heat is working just fine...he had his electric blanket on high, so obviously the air would feel cold. I could kill him, now he is snoring away, at least he made me coffee first. Maybe I'll live on the edge and have a 2nd cup of coffee this morning.
Awake over here too! I have officially been made too uncomfortable to sleep in the bed anymore. So I guess the couch it is. I moved out here about 12:30 woke up at one. Dogs woke me up at 3:30 to let them out. Cool I have to pee anyway. Let them out only hear one dog come back in. I can't find the other one. Spend 10 minutes looking for him. It's 3 degrees outside and I'm freezing. Find him..... He is in the bed with DH little asshole. Lay back down. Man I'm starving. Fix a bowl of cereal and that's where I sit!
@LaBellaVida I want a sandwich too sounds amazing! @elleswarth I'm afraid of that happening this time. I read the thread on D14 about what they wished they had gotten and almost all of the responses were more NB clothes. My DD was 7 lbs 11 oz and wore NB for almost a month. MW is thinking this one will be 8 lbs so I have like 4 outfits and 2 pjs. Have fun shopping! @pleirey I hope you feel better soon!

I doubt that anyone would call you a wimp! If they become timeable they could very well be contractions. Like most pain, everyone experiences contractions slightly differently. I would definitely talk to your doctor (or whoever) and ask about guidelines for when you should call in. My doctors have always been pretty eager to tell me, 'if you have a question, call.' I hope you have a good visit!
@heidih21- No one will call you a wimp, I promise. It can be hard, especially for first timers, to know what the heck is going on. Don't ever hesitate to call, that's what your doctor/s are for!
I'm tired as heck today. I think I need a nap. After all my coffee.

Hi all from L&D! Just started on a super low dose of pitocin about an hour ago, and my water already broke on its own! Baby Girl is going to be a New Year's Eve baby!!

@Mrs_Bennett - yay!!!!! So excited for you!! Good luck!

@Mrs_Bennett - exciting!!! Looking forward to hearing about your little girl.
DS woke up crying last night at 5 because he missed our dog that passed away in August. It hits him at such random times. I asked him if she visited him in his dream and he said yes. It makes me sad when he's sad but I do like to think that she still visits in dreams.
I'm making Oreo truffles for a daytime/kid party we are going to later and Toblerone Fondue for a adult/family party tonight. Too much chocolate - never!!!
DH is going to work for a few hours today and I'll be alone with the baby for the longest I've ever been alone with her. Why does that terrify me?
@TXUltraRunner- you got this!! I was nervous the first time H went to work, too. But I managed! And then promptly threw her into his arms and went outside for a break when he walked in the door Now when he's home my routine is all messed up. And I kinda think "Ok... time for you to go back to work" haha! I love spending the days alone with my little girl.
You'll do great!!!

@heidih21 I woke up to waves of cramping last night that weren't timeable (because they really were just a constant wave of stronger/weaker/stronger) but lasted for about 20 minutes and I still had no clue what to do about them (I've had a kid before) so I just laid there. You're not alone and no one would call you a wimp for calling someone.
@heidih21, it's already been answered, but my experience was the same -
I was having period-like cramps, and they would come and go. I called my doctor about it, and he asked, "How long have you been having contractions?" I was like, "What? These are contractions?" As a FTM, I had no idea. And then my water broke later that night, and DS was born the next morning.
It may not go that quickly for you, but good luck!
Hi ladies! I'm so tired! We had my step sisters rehearsal dinner last night and the food was horrible so hubs and I ordered pizza when we got home. Then baby girl woke up at 3 and again at 630- I need all the coffee if I'm going to make it through this wedding tonight! Really stressing drunk drivers- the wedding is like 15 minutes from the hotel and the roads are sooo windy, great combination with amateur nye drivers- I'm contemplating leaving wedding at like 10 bc I really don't want my daughter in a vehicle when all the crazies start driving after midnight! But the wedding doesn't start til 7pm (outdoor ceremony in 20 degree weather-yup she's that bride) and do dinner isn't even going to be served until like 10 - blah! Hoping everyone has a happy and safe nye and ladies...for those of us that have inside babies- 2015 will be here tonight and that's the year and month our babies are going to be born!!!!!!!!!
P.s. @elleswarth I can't believe you guys are already home! So exciting! My dd was in newborn for 8'weeks and she was born full term- I had to go out and buy all new clothes and then sadly a lot of her 3 months were never worn bc they were all summer and by the time she could wear them we were into the fall! I have no idea what to expect with this guy!
@labellavida yum the sand which sounds amazing - my husband has same thing and it really does taste better than mcd's!
Good morning! DS and I are hanging out today and going to a party at the children's museum later. I'm also planning a trip to Target to finish up my hospital bag and postpartum supplies.
My FFWC- DS came at 37w 4d and I'm kind of hoping for a repeat performance from this LO. I have to keep reminding myself that there is a good chance I'll go full or late term but it would be great to be holding a baby in 10 days if she's ready!
Morning ladies! I'm trying to pump myself up to go back to work today after staying home the last two days after my "procedures" (which is all I told work because who wants to talk to their boss about having a thrombosed hemorrhoid lanced several times). My butt is still killing me though and I'm worried about sitting I'm going to at least give it a shot and come home if I need to. I'm SO ready for it to just be baby time so I can start maternity leave and not worry about time off stealing time away from LO when he comes.
I should have came on here when I was wide awake during the night, but instead I just laid in bed awake trying to decide if I should get up and make a sandwich or not. Sounds like sandwiches are uber popular today.
I woke H up for middle of the night sexy time. Then I was wide awake waiting to see if it would induce labor...oh boy. It obviously didn't, but in my mind I like to pretend that it really moved my cervix along. Yup. Let's go with that.
It seems I've started having bed time naps. I go to sleep at my usual time, then wake up anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour later. And then I'm awake forever before I can fall asleep again.
My son just started thus for nap time and bed time. Shoot me now!!
@Edvent, I guess taking a donut pillow to work to sit on would be too embarrassing - I'm sorry you have to work today! Hopefully these next days will go by quickly until your maternity leave.
I am on vacation until Friday and then two weeks until my due date. Eek! I got down some more baby clothes from the attic and the car seat and bassinet. I asked DH if I should wash it all now or wait until closer to the due date so it will be fresher. He was like, "Ummm, sweetie, you're pretty close to your due date already. I wouldn't wait much longer." It's getting real!
My mom got me a sandwich maker for Christmas. I'm laying in bed craving an egg, sausage, cheese muffin. They taste better than McDonald's!
Is it the Hamilton Beach one? My gram got it for me when me and my husband moved in together. It's glorious!
YES! same one! I'm awake, again. Slept for 3 or so hours. I'll wait another hour and go make my breakfast. =P~
@britb618 (my phone has programed your name the second I type @ b. It auto corrects to your screen name. In fact, it does it to a few of you ladies. :P ) I certainly don't blame you if you leave the wedding at 10. No way in heck would I want to be out in the roads tonight, let alone with my child in the car! Also, who has an outside wedding, at night, in 20 degrees, on NYE!?!? I personally find that inconsiderate to all of the guest. (Also inconsiderate- having an outdoor wedding in the blistering heat! ) hopefully the food won't be bad tonight- but maybe bring snacks to the wedding, and eat before you go.
My abdomen feels all bruised up after my version last night (which did not work btw).... it was totally worth a try though but dear lord it was painful (FTM)... the nurse told me that was a preview to labor contractions so now I am thankful to be looking forward to a c-section.
I find it a little funny that I myself was a breech baby born New Years Day, and now my daughter is a breech baby that will have an early January birthday as well.

Love Target but watch their sizes, they tend to run big.

You, Miss Megan, are amazing!
@hiphopdancer2007, thank you! I dragged my sickly butt into work anyway. I'll fake it 'til I make it today.
Go @Mrs_Bennett! Wishing you a smooth delivery :-)
@YaMrWhite, could you please send some of that cleanliness and organization my way? I'll share cupcakes or cookies or donuts. Or cake.
