I bought a new 15" MacBook Pro yesterday with my work bonus combined with all of my Christmas money and gift cards (and some extra because those suckers are expensive). I'm so excited about it and I haven't even taken it out of the box yet!

Online or did you go to the Apple store? That place is always madness for me. Must avoid.
I went to Best Buy because they had a better price plus a gift card with purchase offer going on. So I paid $100 less than at Apple and then used the $100 gift card to buy the Apple SuperDrive and a screen protector.
Normally I would buy from apple.com, but Best Buy had the better deal on what I wanted.
@chickenonsunday -- I totally hear you re pooping better at work. It is SOO true right now. :-)
One other note -- we still dont have our glider. Part of me wants to just order it. But I know that I am supposed to have a "work" shower at some point. I have a feeling some of the attorney's here would go in and get it since it is like the only BIG ticket thing we have left. I'm stuck!
Then on the other hand -- I always get a big gift card from the attorneys I work for each christmas. I did this year at $220. Then I have other christmas cash, from relatives etc. So I have like a total of $400. Part of me wants to blow it on a nice purse. The other part of me wants to save it. And a smaller part wants to buy THIS!
The husband and I used this weekend to recover from a week-long visit from my family, tour our hospital's L&D, and put our place back in order. I spent yesterday reading and cooking and felt pretty accomplished.
And yes to the baby clothes at Christmas. To be fair, someone did give me 12M clothes. But it was all shorts and short-sleeve shirts, which really wouldn't work during winter in DC. I don't know if she'll ever wear them (I know sizes don't necessarily correspond with age, though).
Awaiting our bundle of cute chaos.
F15 January Siggy Challenge: What You're Looking Forward to Most after Baby Arrives
I'm just now getting up. Lol... DH alarm goes off at 530 so lately while I'm on bedrest I've been waking up and chatting with him while he gets dressed then I fall back asleep. DD turns 12 tomorrow. I will have two 12yr olds in my house for 9 days then DS turns 13. I may cry then.
I have an OB appointment on the 7th and nervous that she might schedule a C-section for me. We (DH & I) are pretty sure LO is still hanging out transverse with her head on my right side, butt on my left, and spine towards my lungs. It's pretty much been her favorite hangout position since we found out her gender.
My belly feels really heavy today. I swear I have to pee every 10 minutes. and the Lightening Crotch -- that's new. I just walk down the aisle between cubicles and double over for a split second. Kind of hard to hide that pain.
While showing this morning, I found a wierd lump down below just past the vag. It doesn't hurt or anything, so I figured I would talk to my doctor at my next appt (1 week from today). Should I be more concerned and call sooner? Anyone else ever have this?
Bad mood today for me. I'm so easily ticked. Maybe I can find a place to hide later but DH is sleeping in so I'm on kid duty. There just isn't any help when I'm in a mood like this. Ugh.
Anyone want to tell me in one sentence what's going down in the babywise thread? I'm seriously afraid to even open it!
Hope everyone had a wonderful christmas!! I lucked out on christmas, my parents did buy us some baby stuff but the presents were addressed to our baby and they gave us gifts for us.
So I bought my SO a tablet (we have never had one before) but I bought it from a kiosk in the mall. I don't like to admit when I'm wrong but I got swindled...:( so I was super excited to give him his gift on Christmas and I could tell he was and little disappointed. Last night I bought an amazon Kindle hdx for him while he finished painting the baby's room. Ha ha! Now I'm super excited to see his face when he gets his belated christmas present.
Surprisingly we didn't get many clothes for baby, but toys yes. He's now got his first riding train, a John deer tractor with duplo blocks, and a musical book... So stuff he can't even use until next Christmas. Oh well, it was sweet.
I totally went crazy hospital bag shopping last night and this morning. Although my shower is in a week, I figured no one is buying me bras or yoga pants.... I also got some cream and the soothing pads. I just can't wait to put it together. (Idk why, since that would make this more real, but I finished nesting).
@holachicaaa I did the same thing yesterday but took my twin with me. She was like you really need that!! But she was a good help. Although there's still a couple things I need.
@ChickenOnSunday I got quite a bit of clothes for Christmas and all NB! I'm definitely returning some because I have so many. Who knows if he will even fit in any of them. Plus on the kinda irritating side everyone got me an outfit that they think the baby should come home in. I had already purchased an outfit for him to come home in.
On the plus side I did wash a couple item's to take to the hospital for him. 2 outfits for going home. Whatever one fits will be the one. I picked an outfit my twin got him.
But on the down side I wanted to punch my DH for hogging the bed and snoring in my face all night and morning.
One of my favorite local restuarants is having a teacher appreciation day today, so we are heading there in a few to meet some coworkers for a free meal! I'm super excited because we need to get out of the house. I cleaned and organized the last few days and my husband has been a complete nerd and played Sky Rim between helping me clean. This is why it is bad to have two teachers in the house. We are completely insane on our holiday breaks. We need to venture out into the real world today to save our sanity.
The husband and I used this weekend to recover from a week-long visit from my family, tour our hospital's L&D, and put our place back in order. I spent yesterday reading and cooking and felt pretty accomplished.

At my baby shower, I got A TON of clothes. I guess people can't add months in their heads because I got quite a bit of long sleeves for 6 months. I'm just above you in PA, so you know how hot it gets in AUGUST.
My favorite were these two onesies, 1 Scooby Doo and 1 Superman...no. My aunt ripped the tag off, so I can't return them.
It's trash collection day, I can hear the trash truck on the next street. DH wheels the bins out weekly, but he's been sick all weekend. I'm warm in bed right now, I don't want to...
I went swimming as usual yesterday morning, I think it was a mistake. I thought I might be sick too, then I thought I was just dehydrated and went anyway. Now I'm paying for it. Achey all over and my head is spinning. Ugh. The trash totally can wait.
@SquirrelsRWatching Oh that is one of my peeves right now. I'll admit I got pretty lucky and all the clothes I did get are fitting for the month's. But it drives me nuts when people don't consider the time of year it'll be when they buy clothes.
Morning! We got a 3-6 month winter jumpsuit for the baby but I have a question. It has been mentioned to not use those because it gets in the way of the car seat straps fitting safely and properly, so is there any other use for those? Andplusalso, there's a good possibility he won't be able to use it because of the size/season right?
For those at work today I hope it is an easy day for you all!
Good morning ladies! I hope everyone had a good weekend. It's almost 2015, and that scares me. I feel like I'm hitting the "oh shit" stage.
We have plans to get the crib and dresser this weekend. As of today I am supposed to be making room in the bedroom for le bébé... But first I'll go to Target... Maybe pick up the Chicco Bravo Trio if it is on sale still.

Stroller. Or if you plan on being outside often in colder temps (like with older kids). But you're right that it shouldn't be used in the car seat. Wether or not it will fit will be dependent on the child, obviously.
Hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday! I was certainly not ready to come back this morning
Spam of the day: I'm not sleeping anymore, it just hurts to sleep. I actually called in late today to TRY and get a couple more hours... I took 2 Tylenol and that seemed to help so I'll take some before bed tonight and PRAY I get a few good hours!
Second spam: I have an interview for a position with the local school district... here is my dilemma. I do NOT have a maternity suit whatsoever, I have a nice sweater and a cute pant/wedge combination that I could wear but I don't want my lack of professionalism to hinder my chances (especially with this huge stomach hangin' out there)... IDEAS PLEASE?!

Oh, speaking of Christmas baby outfits, my mom got me a cute sleeper with reindeer and candy canes on it, size 12M. She was careful to point out, too, that the bottom of the feet had rubber grips on them. Designed for, say, a house that has hardwood and tiled floors? Perhaps the house she owns? Gee, thinks she wants to claim the kid for Christmas next year?
Awaiting our bundle of cute chaos.

@wirtlehm Do you have time to go shopping before interview? I know Kohls had some maternity suits if that is what your going to be more comfortable in for an interview. But I don't see why a nice sweater and pants wouldn't do the trick.

I think that would work for an interview! Maybe dress up the sweater with a fancy necklace? Good luck!
@krysmill, @krendel1990, I do have time to go shopping and I had considered that, my only concern is having a maternity suit that I won't use again lol!
@nomnomasaur 0426, I could possibly do a pre-maternity blazer and just not button it, I didn't really think about that. Also, I thought about maybe going to buy a dress, I think a good dress can make any woman look professional!
@ambz06060, I'll have to look through my jewelry to see what I have! All good ideas!

Good morning!!!!! You know I am probably the last of my friends and family to be having my first baby which is fun because I am surrounded by knowledgeable and helpful people. But I have also suddenly realized I have only ONE NB sized outfit because everyone is (smartly) buying us 3 and 6 mo clothing. My DH was a 9 pounder, I was 7.1, and we are both tall. Maybe we won't need more? (Also my mom would lose her mind with happiness if the day after baybay is born we hand her a $50 target gift card and say "we have NO newborn outfits can you help us out here?)
Hello ladies, posting then trying to catch up on reading posts.
Had my first weekly appointment today with my NST, growth U/S then meeting with the doctor. Everything looked beautiful, the NST went really well and everything on the ultrasound looks great. Then my doctor came in and immediately says "Let's talk induction" And they want to induce me by my 39th week. Kinda caught me off guard... The thought of increasing risk of c section is really freaking me out.
DH and I are leaving ella with my inlaws today and heading downtown Vancouver for two fabulous nights!! We haven't had a date night, let alone a night alone, in a year, since we were back home for Christmas last year! I'm really excited for it. A little babymoon!
Good morning! I haven't had the urge to get up and do anything yet today so of course I had to check TB before being productive.
Edit: my post didn't save
Basically all I said was: finished purchasing things off the registry and put together all furniture this weekend (yay!!!). Also, that I'm probably the only dummy who washed all baby girl's clothes already so I realllly hope she fits in NB! I don't have a TON (and about the same amount of 0-3mo) so maybe I'll be fine.

Yay for a good ultrasound! But why do they want to induce? Are you high risk?
What the hell is a durian fruit? It's what my ticker says for week 33. Whatever it is, it looks like that is actually what is rolling around in my torso right now poking the shit out of my ribs

I thought the SAME thing about the fruit. But yes, I guess even though I was cleared from the specialist I am still considered high risk due to his slight echogenic bowel. The specialist told me he had a higher risk of being a still born and all these other terrifying things, so they figured let him cook as long as necessary then get him out. I just thought since she signed off on me, that wasn't the case anymore. I'm hoping he will be like my mom's first, also a boy, and come a week or two early on his own. Looks like I'll be trying every trick in the book to get labor going starting Feb 1st!

----------------------- I was wondering why they want to induce you as well. I'm one of those moms who was induced with my first at 39 weeks and ended up with an emergency c section. There was no reason for them to induce me. I was just a nieve FTM and went along with whatever my dr said. I really wish now that I would've waited for her to come on her own. I truly believe being induced lead to my c section. But then again, my aunt was induced with her first and had a completely normal vaginal delivery. And with her second she was induced 2 weeks early and still had no problem at all with delivery. So who knows!

I was still typing my post, so didn't see your answer. It sounds like you have a good reason to induce. I hope all goes well for you!

Thank you, I hope so too! My friend was induced with both of hers and managed to have both without an epidural (that's my goal) and had minimal problems, then I've heard the other end of the spectrum as well. I guess you never really consider the potential for a c section until someone mentions it as a possibility for your individual situation, it freaked me out!
@kcrosem good to know! I will definitely be looking into options. My best friend is an OBNurse and my mom is a former OB Nurse, so luckily I have lots of people to get advice from. Always good to hear of other people's experiences, it looked like from the paperwork she gave me, they take several steps before breaking water and even before pitocin which made me feel a LITTLE better.
Afternoon! I was up at 5 am and really perky but def crashing now. Slow day at work though so that's a plus. Anyone else getting Carple tunnel? Just started a week or so ago. Not too bad right now. Hoping it doesn't get worse.
In fantastic spam our floors were done this weekend and we get to start moving upstairs wednesday!!! A friend is stopping by on the way to New years at another friends to help DH get the matress and dressers up there. I cannot wait. If I don't crash to hard tonight 8 going to get to cleaning the closets so we can finally start to unpack clothes. It's been 3 months. I'm so ready. Plus this weekend we can put the crib and nursery together!
