I've been working several OT shifts (yea paycheck!) and home today w/LO playing with all his animal toys and train set.  I've managed to put on pants, tshirt AND a bra.  That is my accomplishment so far.

OMG! Yippie, more spamaroo for the day

DH just went to Lowes and picked up everything we need to finish getting the house ready for baby Fi! We need to paint the bathroom, put up new trim, cut out a cat door for the litter box & lay carpet in the nursery. He got EVERYTHING today and he's off all week so we might actually get things done!!!

We had some friends who were due mid-Jan have their baby this past weekend so now DH is officially convinced we only have 4 more weeks instead of 6... that's ok w me, he hasn't been in a real rush to get everything put together so maybe that was just the kick he needed!

The rug on our registry just went on sale from $149 to $89... I think this is a sign I just need to buy it for his room. Or do I risk waiting to see if someone gets it for one of the upcoming showers?

@kcrosem thanks! 12 years is a huge gap! DS will be 13 when she's born. 8 years for you shouldn't be bad. My sister and I are 5 years apart and I'm 6 years older than my brother. We get along great and had a blast together growing up.

Did a lot of people get gifts of clothing for the babies? My SIL and MIL gave us numerous outfits (sleepers, summer clothes, and I can't remember what else) and all of stuff that is 3m. I just want to ask whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy??!?!?!

We have all of Willa's clothes and there is a lot! My plan is to leave all the tags on the clothes and potentially try to return them to Carter's or Kohl's for credit.

MIl gave me for christmas all the stuff she had planned to give us for a baby shower. I got a lot of summer like clothes in 3 months and a lot of winter like clothes in 6-9 months.

Which if lo is the size of what DD was then those clothes will never work out for those times.

My spam for today

I feel like being incredibly lazy. I have a massive amount of laundry to do that I don't even want to touch because if I start it then i'll have to fold it all and put it all away.

@racheltherose, that's ALWAYS the dilemma! I want to buy things but I think so myself, well I do have a shower coming up! Is this carpet at BRU? If that's the case, do you have your completion coupon yet? Because you'll get an addt'l 10% off AND 10% cash back so that's like adding another $18 in savings! Just a thought... if you have ANY ability to get it with an addt'l coupon I would do it! I'm all about saving the most money while still getting what I want

Yeah I have 2 showers coming up and not a lot of items purchased, so I think there's a lot of last minute shoppers attending! Unfortunately it's not at BRU, it's at Target. I don't think Target has any incentives unless they do a discount after the due date kind of like their wedding registry. AH what to do what to do! I want a rug so bad because we have hard wood floors and they're a little beat up looking..figure this might conceal that some haha

@racheltherose Target does a registry completion discount. I think it's 15-20% off your purchase.

Target's registry is giving me grief today. Ever since I set it up, it hasn't allowed me to edit the settings. Anyone else having this problem? It won't let me add DH as a co-registrant or change the name of the registry to my name + his. Apparently some of DH's family can't find it because they are searching for my first name + DH last name (them not remember that I kept my own last name is another issue...)

Also the due date is listed as 2/25 in one place and 3/25 in another place. I wanted to change it to an earlier date so we can use the completion coupon before baby comes. But I can't edit anything. GAH.

@racheltherose, another option you could explore, if you aren't looking for a permanent fix right now, are carpet remnants. DH just went and picked up a 12 x 10 carpet remnant for $50. We chose this route only because we intend on finishing the hardwood in the house but this involves us extending one of our hallways. The carpet is cheap according to DH (who has been cleaning carpet for the last 15 years) but we should get at least 3-5 years before the traffic lanes really start to show. We aren't padding underneath it but it's certainly better than the nasty, stained, half stripped wood floors that are currently in the room now.

wirtlehm  oh that's a good idea! Did you go to a carpet store to get something like that or like home depot?

@racheltherose, he went to both. At the carpet store he said they only had polyester remnants that were a little pricier. Then he went to Lowes, they also only had polyester remnants BUT they were 70% off. Like I said, it's just a temp fix but it's certainly better than nothing and should bring the room together a little bit more!

Something is up with the furnace at work - it's 84 flipping degrees in here. And here I sit in a sweater, black pants and boots.

Are your showers coming up really soon? That sounds like a heck of a deal to me! Anyway you could buy it while it's so cheap and return it if someone else gets it for you?

Smyers2girls My first one is on the 11th and the other is on the 18th... so FAIRLY soon. But that's true, we could always return it. I just don't REALLY want to spend the money on it, but it's such a good deal!

@ChickenOnSunday‌ we only got a few things for the baby for Christmas. We got a really cute outfit and a gift card, then FIL took us shopping for the crib sheets.

My spam: I don't know why he is doing this so early, but I think DH just got up and started cooking dinner.  I've been having BH all day, so I picked tacos because I can easily do everything sitting down.  He took it upon himself to cook for me, I'm impressed.

Guys! I have to go dress shopping for this damn wedding dress a third time tonight because she wants us all there when she says "yes to the dress". Wtf seriously?! I think she watches too much TLC. Please tell me I'm not irrational in thinking this is ridiculous everyone has to be there for this moment or tell me I'm a bitch for not caring, either one will do. Ok rant over. The dress saga continues....

Am I the only one that feels like immediately AFTER leaving the doctor's office.... I get all these weird questionable symptoms that make me wonder if I should call? Like I felt totally fine this morning besides the normal aches and pains, now I feel like I'm having a questionable amount of Braxton hicks. It will totally subside by the time I see a doctor, this kid is just like his dad. A pain.

I'm dying to take our tree down and redo the front room for baby but DD is begging to keep the tree up through New Years.

Today is MIL's birthday.

I'm not going. I made sure to buy a nice present and send DD and DH on their way. After the way Christmas went I don't even want to deal or try to be nice today.

I called and wished her happy birthday this morning and was treated to a nasty attitude.  Ugh I try.

Also @racheltherose‌ if they are talking induction and you want to try for med free ask your doc about cervadil. I was induced at 38w5d with my first daughter because of pre-e and they used cervadil, a tablet that is placed on the cervix and dissolves. It ended up being all my body needed to jump into labour on its own. My ctxs came naturally and I wasn't overwhelmed into needing an epi, like I have heard can happen on pitocin.
Just wanted to give you another option!

Uh yeah I never understood the big deal. I ordered mine online for $150 because it was technically a white evening gown, and I loved it and got tons of compliments.

Yeah it sounds a little out of control. Lets hope she just picks it and then this dress drama can be over!

I totally went crazy hospital bag shopping last night and this morning. Although my shower is in a week, I figured no one is buying me bras or yoga pants.... I also got some cream and the soothing pads. I just can't wait to put it together. (Idk why, since that would make this more real, but I finished nesting).

I did this shopping this weekend, too. I can't nest in the nursery until that room has been empty of big sister (still ALMOST done finishing the basement for the big girls), and I needed to do something!

@wirtlehm‌ Where did you get your carpet remnant? Home depot or something like that, or a local place?

Someone asked about a durian before. It's a disgustingly stinky fruit with a disturbing texture, like rotten bananas. You have to crack the spikey shell open to access the edible parts, which is a yellow mushy consistency with a non edible giant seed a bit bigger than an avocado seed. I've had it before cos everyone convinced me I had to try it when I was visiting Asia. It tasted sweet, but man, the gag reflex was activated before it even hit my mouth. In the Philippines I've seen signs in public that specifically calls out no durians allowed.

Whatever illness I've been having the past day and this morning appeared to be over. DH is also feeling better today. I'll probably have him back in our bed tomorrow night.

I bought the cheap stuff once. It lead to a lecture my DH that we weren't so poor we needed to use the cheap stuff and apparently and that he was in charge of toilet paper buying.

I have to buy the nicer stuff now no matter how much it cost.

DH is snoring, insomnia has me up since 330am. I'd sleep on the couch but out fan blower motor on the heater went out yesterday and my bed is warm.
