Kicking already !?

Re: Kicking already !?

  • Hm, I didn't take her post as braggy at all. A lot of women mention their weight on here, and I can see how she would think being smaller might help you feel movement earlier (even though it has nothing to do with it.) It's hard to tell when you're a ftm.

My Gynecologist and obstetrician said that having extra weight won't let me feel the baby kicks, so according to him, weight does matter

  • Wow it's ridiculous what this post turned into. I get on here to compare how my pregnancy relates to other women and for advice, support, etc... its very ugly to leave comments that could possibly offend the girl who started this discussion. Especially if certain ppl felt offended by the initial post. How are u right try to offend her. Makes no sense we should be supporting each other and giving advice and positive thoughts not ruining a special thing with negativity...

    Totally agree.

I found myself leaving some discussions without finishing reading all the post just because they turn into mean arguments instead of nice support and understanding.
Sometimes I think it should be called the bitch club instead of the birth club. Sad

I'm a troll??? Not sure what that is but ok. I post stuff on this site once and get called ugly names ok. If I get banned so be it. You guts are the ones picking on the op because she said what she weighed, she probably a ftmand don't know what to expect.

No. No. No. Please do not use being a FTM as an excuse. I am a FTM and know to read a pregnancy book. Also a certain level of common sense is pretty useful.
I am also a FTM. I have several pregnancy books that stated you can feel kicks (On the inside) earlier if you are slender. When I did more and more research I realized they were wrong. I don't think that's true and I completly agree that it DOESNT have to do with being thin, but I also think that whether or not OP was bragging about her weight, she was told by several people it was because she's small. I don't think anyone should get on to her simply because she was given false information.... Now mentioning her exact weight is a whole other issue.

She said her baby was kicking her "so hard."  She was not questioning whether it was a kick or not.  Andplusalso, people don't generally start off a conversation with their weight unless that's what they want people to comment on.

Everything about this post is braggy.

I doubt if someone posted "I'm 180 lbs and small framed but totally feel the baby" it would be because they wanted people to comment on their weight.

It's a weird double standard, IMO, that people that are smaller are considered braggy when they post their weight as a detail that explains what their reasoning is. If someone posted they weren't feeling movement because they were bigger, I highly doubt people would tell them they were bragging about being over weight.

I have yet to see anyone brag about being overweight or brag about being a normal weight.  It's not a double standard.  It's reality.
@sensitivesally‌ I think your name says it all . . . don't you think? Are you projecting your own body issues in some way? Lay off the girl.

  • Great point. Who cares if she mentioned her exact weight? You all sound petty and jealous. Move on.

I'm 17 weeks today..still no belly and still no movement. It's amazing how everyone differs!
And I agree that weight absolutely has a lot to do with it. I'm overweight, which is why I know I don't have much of a belly yet. I already have a bit of a tummy for the baby to grow past. When you're smaller, you're more apt to show a lot sooner, so I can see how you'd be able to feel movement more/sooner.

  • I am 16 + 4 and started feeling our little one moving a few days ago! So I think it's definitely possible to be feeling baby at this point. Although I am a STM and didn't feel our first until almost 20 weeks.
  • @bluedaisy2001  Great gif to pop your gif cherry!

  • or how to tag people without quoting....
You use the "@ sign followed by their name. On mobile it's so much easier because as you type the possible names will pop up. on computer you can copy & paste though sometimes it doesn't look correctly tagged so i just type it out after the @" sign.
Newbies thread has an explanation for siggies. I might join the January siggy fun and become a proper grown Bumpie next month!

Ok this is one thing I never figured out, either. So I'm going to try the copy/paste method (the @ never made anything pop up via laptop)

    leenziepops.... Did I tag you?

  • @carolyngrace I dont think the tagging worked. You still need to put the "@" sign. Then the @Name will go blue by itself.
