Weight does make a difference, mostly if you are overweight though. It may be harder to feel if overweight. Most movement now is slight, not hard though...probably gas. I have felt movement for a few weeks but this is my fifth so my uterus is more sensitive.

Weight only makes a difference in feeling the baby move from the outside. If you're a little chubbier and have a few more layers of fat underneath your skin, other people may have a hard time feeling the baby's movements. As a pregnant woman, your weight has no impact on feeling the baby move from inside your body.

    Quote fail :/

Thank you @musictchr25‌ ! I commented on a thread the other day, something about feeling early movement. I don't recall which thread or poster it was on though. I explained how early I felt movement (first was 13ish weeks, then not again until 15weeks), and I said my dr told me it's possible for smaller-built women to feel fetal movement sooner. I got lots of responses telling me weight has nothing to do with feeling the baby, it's got to do with nerves inside. I didn't feel like responding to all of them and just let it go. But thank you for taking the words from my mouth lol. My point about body size-feeling movement correlation was that smaller built women may feel baby from the outside sooner.

Hope this didn't seem rant-y and I'm not trying to cause drama lol, just glad someone else knows what I meant with the whole size-movement thing. So I don't feel so crazy lol :D

  • Don't even waste your energy on these overly hormonal women@kgould94‌. It sounds to me that a simple question was thrown out of context. No question is a stupid question. Most of us are going through this for our first time. We aren't experts yet so we need to count on each other for support. That's what makes these message boards so wonderful. I'm 17 weeks and proudly 58 pounds heavier than you. I just started feeling my baby boy move and kick around. It's the most amazing feeling in the world. Don't let anyone spoil this joyous moment for you. I've gained 15 lbs. in the last 17 weeks. I feel it's a little much in that period of time. So I chose to start prenatal yoga and pilates and add more healthy foods to my diet. Everyone chooses their own destiny. Self acceptance is a beautiful thing. I can't wait to show off my bump and my ginormous breasts in Hawaii next week. I love my new big fat body! Yes, that was bragging. And I'll take a extra large trophy as well. Best of luck and happy pushing @kgould94‌.

    K. Good for you. But not once did I say OPs question was stupid, I don't think the other ladies said it was stupid either. I said the context could have been taken differently than how it was meant. And no I don't think you deserve a trophy all to yourself, every woman here deserves one for being pregnant and dealing with those special snowflakes day in day out.

  • So you are saying even if its in books don't believe it???? Cause you just said I believe everything I read!!!!! There are medical sites you can GOOGLE that have actual doctors that respond to questions
Ok, so back to my other point. I could also put that information about giraffes into a book. And then you read the book and believe it? Just because someone put it in a book?

    Is that better?

I would love to see some of these medical journals or medical associations that have this information. Information from actual medical personnel, published by a medical publishing company. Not people writing on medical websites, like WebMD.

Oh, and how do you know that they're an actual doctor? Just because they put MD or PhD after their name? I could do that on a message board too, you know.

  • Search it... What's it matter what I write or post on here you're obviously reeeeaaaddding it!!!
I'm not the one trying to prove a point here. It's you. If you really think you're right about this, which you aren't, by the way, give us the proof.

The reason why you won't, and you're telling us to "search it" is because THEY DON'T EXIST!

Really what I was getting at in the 1st place is there are articles that say that plus her doctor with a degree also stated that information to her. So who is she to believe hormonal pregnant women or doctor???? Hmmmm
If a doctor told me something that negates common sense and biology, I wouldn't believe it. I can't believe something that is just not physically possible.

If your doctor told you that your husband could get pregnant, would you believe him/her, just because he/she is a doctor?

    Yeah, didn't think so.

This person has some extreme similarities to a previous poster who got banned a while ago. I can't think who it was but basically I think you're a troll.
yeah..... I was going to call troll on this one, as well.

  • But you just said it movement is felt externally at an earlier point in thinner women. I know I'm hormonal I think we all are it comes with pregnancy.
Yes. This is what we have said the entire time. We aren't arguing that thinner women can feel EXTERNAL movement earlier than some not-so-thin women. That's not the point of this at all.

Please, for your own sake, go back and read the entire thread.

Oh, and we aren't all hormonal. If you want to say that you think that you yourself are hormonal, that's one thing. But I know I'm not.

  • I'm due May 31st. I'm most likely going to deliver in June. But thanks so much for pointing that out smarty pants!
  • We are women, eventually we may let our weight slip in conversation. It's no big deal because we are all beautiful and all pregnant. As a FTM, I thought weight/build had to do with how early you could feel movement so cut the girl some slack and celebrate with her as she is feeling those little flutters that get us all excited.
  • Let's all just KCCO!
  • Has anyone ever tried magic bars?  They are an all time fave of mine and because the Holidays are right around the corner I thought I would share!

1 cup graham cracker crumbs mixed with one stick of butter.  spread that out over a 9x13 pan.  you can spread it  thin because it will look like it won't cover the bottom of the  pan.
then you are going to pour 1 can of sweetened condensed milk over that to cover it.
layer it with chocolate chips (your flavor of choice)
    crushed walnuts and coconut.
Pack it down firmly with a fork.
Bake at 250 degrees for 20-30 minutes or until coconut starts to brown.

They are really good and its so easy because you can add as much chocolate chips, walnuts or coconut as you want.  You can substitute the walnuts for any other nut too.

Does anyone else have a recipe for their favorites this time of year?

Happy Holidays June 2015 moms and enjoy!

  • MrsMassimilla  On the computer you just google a gif and paste it in. Sometimes that doesn't work so you can save and then attach the file. On mobile, copy the URL then type:

  • Wow it's ridiculous what this post turned into. I get on here to compare how my pregnancy relates to other women and for advice, support, etc... its very ugly to leave comments that could possibly offend the girl who started this discussion. Especially if certain ppl felt offended by the initial post. How are u right try to offend her. Makes no sense we should be supporting each other and giving advice and positive thoughts not ruining a special thing with negativity...
