My dog ate my underwear!?!?

Gah it is so gross but ever since I've been pregnant my dog will go through my hamper and chomp my friggin underwear. I had to buy a taller hamper so he can't get into it. Does anyone else have pets who have been doing weird crap since you've gotten pregnant?

My dog has always attacked my underwear..something to do with my pheromones I guess? He also goes after my sweaty gym shoes. Dogs are weird!

I had a dog once that did that. My only advice is to keep them away like you are doing with the new hamper. It's a weird, but pretty come dog behavior. Maybe there is a dog whisperer episode about it.

Uh yes. I have a dog that enjoys doing this as well. Get a hamper with a lid on it. Also, don't be alarmed when A big wad of tangled messed gets thrown up from the dog.

Yep my dog will eat only the crotch of my underwear, no other part. This started happening when I got pregnant. Doesn't matter if they're clean or dirty. He also will eat the crotch out of my jeans and shorts etc... It's fucking weird and disgusting.

Mine has started an obsession with getting into the trash, after 6 years and two other pregnancies. I think he just hates me now. Like I'm adding another kid just to torture him and this is his payback.

That made me laugh longer then it probably should have!

As far as dogs doing weird things...mine aren't pantie munching, but one of them is getting extra protective of me. He is stuck to me like glue, had sympathy nausea (literally drooled while my head was in the toilet for three months and would dry heave), and he sniffs and tries to lick my belly. He also wakes up now just before my 150 am potty trip and meets me in the bathroom, lol.

If the other dog could roll his eyes at me he would. He is unimpressed by the insufficient lap room, and our slow walks. And whatever is nudging him back when he attempts to lay on the bump is a mystery of great concern. I never knew he had a WTF face until now.

I am glad they aren't after my underwear....

My dog does that as well but seems to have stopped when I got pregnant. She had an esophagus obstruction last year and almost needed surgery. I was terrified of what the surgeons would find and remove...so much relief when she didn't end up needing the surgery!!

You obviously throw away the ones that are ruined and wash the ones that are fine. It's not like you would be wearing panties still wet with your dogs saliva.

I guess. Budget wise I would probably try to make the fine one's work. I had no idea this was suck an ick trigger for me, but I think I would throw them all away. Can't take it!

Do you really think that dog saliva is more gross than vaginal discharge, pee or blood from your period? Or do you just throw out any piece of underwear that gets bodily fluid on it?

I think the idea of dog saliva being anywhere near my vagina is super gross... Even after hot water & bleach. I had no idea I felt that way, but yuck!!

@rsaj0807‌ I hope your cat comes home soon! Our cat was outdoors but always stayed by the house. A couple times he would be gone for a day or two and we would worry but he always came home. I hope the same goes for you. My beagle is the gross dog of the house. She likes to get in the bathroom trash and likes to lick underwear. I just try to keep the doors of the bathroom and the room with the hamper closed.

One of my cats has started getting into any plastic bag he can find (bread, tortillas, ride cakes), ripping them open and letting the dog eat it if he's around. Woke up one morning tolittlebite sized pieces of roll all over my basement. Had to put a child lock on our new bread cabinet

Both of my dogs will chew DH's or my underwear if they can get it. It's just the crotch and they leave the fabric everywhere. It's disgusting and annoying and we're trying really hard to break them if this habit. They also like to chew blankets, socks and my lab/mastiff loves to chew DH's jeans, especially the belt loops.

My puppy won't actually ingest my panties, but he's chewed on the crotch area of a few panties since I've gotten pregnant. I've also now always gotta wear a bra and shirt(which is a struggle, I usually wear just panties around my house, screw clothes) because since my colostrum has started coming he constantly tries to sniff my boobs. Between him sniffing out my boobs and wanting to use panties as a chew toy I feel so gross. Hahaha.

@rsaj0807‌, I had a Tom that did a walk-a-bout for six weeks and then showed up one day as if he had never left. Depending on how far away you are from your old home, you may want to check that neighbourhood. My friend's cat crossed the city to return to her old place. Good luck.

Yup. Been there too. That's the one I almost threw up over because he pooped the whole thing out. Again, so glad we are passed this phase!!

Now he just steals my kid's food.

I had a Doberman that would eat ANYTHING. Occasionally he would pass it all the way through... He would poop and I would see a tag sticking out... Yep, there is my lost underwear..... Totally gross

@rsaj0807‌ I hope dapper kitty comes home safely! I would put up signs and call local shelters. My old cat Muffin would get out a lot and she would be gone for days and then magically end up back at our front door meowing to come in! I think the longest she was gone was 2 weeks once. And we moved several times too and she always knew where we lived. Fingers crossed for you! I know how much animal companions become apart of your family.

Both of these have been done by my 7 year old jack Russell in the past few weeks. He hasn't done any puppy behavior since he was 1:

Shredded & rolled the bathroom with toilet paper

When going to bring in the rest of the groceries from the car he opened a whole package of rice in my kitchen floor. Talk about a mess!!

My other 4 year old WILL try to suckle underwear if you don't secure them in a hamper.....he waits patiently for the moment you undress to get in the shower. He doesn't tear or eat them. He just leaves a gross, slobbery mess. Gag!!
