@vsandbrook - i'm a trekkie since the original (would watch with parents), and if dh were one too, we'd definitely have a trekkie nickname for our lovebug ;-)
Right now its just "the bun" or "our baby". I think that after we go to the first ultrasound and see something we will have another nickname. That's not happening until the first week of January.
we don't have one yet - we're too afraid to this early. But my DH has started referring to "me" as his family. i.e. instead of saying "how are you?" he'll say "how's my family?". I find it so endearing.
Hubby calls it our "diamond". We did IVF and the picture of the embryo that they transferred looked like a diamond. I call it "lil' blip" because on the ultrasound picture right after they transferred the little air bubble with the embryo looked like a blip in the picture.
I think we have a nickname today, fruit snack. Yesterday, 2nd DS said he wants to name his baby sister fruit snack, so now DH and I laugh about it and started calling baby that.
I have been calling it Sprout as we found out this month and it's Christmas nearly. My hubby was calling it Zygote but in now getting into Sprout. Lol! Xx
My boyfriend randomly called our baby peanut one day and it has stuck with the entire family. I'm starting to guess that regardless of gender this child will always be called peanut, but hey, at least it's cute!
I currently call it "Embryo". For example, when used in the sentence: "Embryo is behaving today. I don't feel nauseous, just tired" or "Embryo does not seem to be liking sugar today. Chocolate tastes like chalk"
We choose a different nickname every week depending on the size of the baby. This week our baby is the size of an apple seed, so we're calling him/her apple pie. Next week it will be sweet pea then bluberry muffin...
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7
We call ours "gharch" which is "mushroom" in Farsi (DH is Persian). It's a little fungus and is growing in the dark. In love with the "gharch-eh coocheek" - "little mushroom".
As soon as we stopped hugging and crying with joy after I surprised my guy with the HPT, he looked down at me said, "Now I have my Sweetie... and my Sweet Roll." We've been referring to baby as Sweet Roll since
So far I've been using the fruit of th week, or calling it my little blob. Bc on our US yesterday at 7w2d that's what he/she looks like. Although I may find another nick name that affectionately captures the fact my little blob is waking me up every night to eat!
