Re: Hodor 2.0!!!

  • Good luck @Cryssteen‌!

We are keeping Christmas simple this year - I got my mom some L'Occitane and my brother went out to my dad's and is getting something from us, plus I got him a cookbook. Me and DH are going to have to deal with the in-laws next week!

  • Loading the player...

  • Also, for other gamer moms, I totally downloaded Hearthstone on my tablet yesterday and have already killed the battery this morning playing it...

Gonna finally catch up on Skyrim, though I was in the game for an hour yesterday and got so tired of trying to re learn the controls. Might look on Steam for something less engaging...maybe I do have some housework that needs to get done.

I feel this way, but DH went and spent a buttload on his parents so now I feel like mine are shafted. My mom and dad recently lost a lot of weight so I thought about a FitBit but was unsure about it.

Fitbits are awesome.  I love mine and have worn it throughout my pregnancy.  They have a few newer models this xmas that are supposed to be awesome.

  • Thanks @pooky08 I just looked into them more and saw they offer the scale too.  My mom lost over 40 lbs and my dad is currently at 30 lbs. My dad is 67 and he currently doesn't have any medications for BP, Cholesterol, and his numbers are all great, so they are really trying to stick with it.

  • Thanks @pooky08 and @misschristinemarie I am just now torn on which one to do for my mom (do the flex or the charge.  I figure my Dad would like the Charge but maybe my mom would like the flex because it is more slender?

Go with the charge.  I thought about the FLEX but I don't like that the display doesn't show numbers ... just dots.  With the FLEX you can see your progress and see the time.

  • Honestly, I know nothing about fitbits other than it tracking your steps and if your mom and dad like a little friendly competition that will keep them motivated, it sounds like the perfect gift! :-D
Works for me! haha I just have no idea color / size and all that blahhh

I have no idea of what is going on with this post .... I guess I shall have to start a new one that doesn't have jibberish in it.  :)

  • @CandaceC1020‌ I'd probably also stop going to work because of that comment. Kind of ridiculous and go you for still even being at work.
  • Ok - so I'm retyping this because there was a lot of gibberish in my post for some reason .....

Please excuse me while I bitch for a moment. I'm 40w6d today. Everyone at work keeps asking me when I'm going to pop and if I'm going to hurry up and have the baby.  My response is that I can't make her come when she's not ready and normally leave it at that.  Well, today was different.

My boss just had the nerve to come to me and tell me that she would appreciate it if I didn't have the baby this weekend and if I could come to work on Monday.  I looked at her funny and asked why.

She said her sons are coming into town this weekend and that she has a lot of things to do.  I told her that even if the baby doesn't come this weekend that I have a doctor's appointment on Monday morning and that I need to go to the hospital after the appointment for an ultrasound - so the chances of me being in are pretty slim.  She looked offended.

I mean for real?  Honestly?  Come on now .... It took just about everything that I had not to fly off the handle at her insane request.  Who in the hell has the audacity to even make a request like that and be 100% serious about it?

I think today is my last day at work just out of general principle.

  • @CandaceC1020 My boss comes in and says "You're still here!" Nearly every day.   But I would seriously flip her off and be like I am having contractions I need to leave and take my leave of absence after that selfish remark from her.  If she has a son, she should know that you and the health of your health baby come before her needing time to get things done.

  • @CandaceC1020‌ eff that! I think it's time you go on mat leave. You don't need that shit!

My mom has stayed with me for a week. Before that, I stated at my MIL's house for 10 around my delivery. I love my family, but I'm ready to be at home with my baby and husband on our own.

  • @MissChristineMarie‌ if I had motivation. I'm eating a bag of animal crackers right now because well cooking requires effort.
  • I just ate a stromboli that had chicken, mushrooms, and onions in it.  It was literally a medium pizza folded in half. I have no shame.

Watching "I didn't know I was Pregnant"...... The way my LO is moving and kicking.... I would Never be on this show.

That show boggles my mind. I seriously don't get it. If I didn't think I was pregnant, I would be convinced I was dying right now.
  • I usually hate Chinese food. But, right now, it sounds goooooooood.

This. For dinner. Nothing else will do now.

    @MissChristineMarie - I have to poop.  I felt like I should tell you.  :)

  • Eek, hope fresh doses of pain meds help you feel better quickly, @misskilljoy!

@CandaceC1020, again I say -- DO IT! Treat yo' self! Also, since I've gotten so excited for tomorrow, I've been having some pretty regular contractions while sitting at my desk at work. So maybe if you make a fun plan, your body will decide to help you progress. :)

  • Colace makes me super nauseous. I've been taking a magnesium supplement that works a little better than I would like it to. I need a happy medium between no poop and all the poop.
  • @misskilljoy - SUPER jealous of your hospital's food setup! Gawd, I'm gagging just thinking about the gross crap my hospital serves. There is no way in hell I'm choking anything down that came from that cafeteria. Graham crackers and milk from the unit pantry will have to sustain me.

Also - loose stools are a contraindication for colace. So if that's going on, you really don't need to be on it.

  • My sister in law sent my baby a giant stuffed horse for Christmas...it's as big as the changing table. Literally as big. Am I horrible to be annoyed by this? I have no room for such a useless toy. My house is small and there are so many other big baby items that I know I'm going to be needing over the next few years. There just isn't room for this kind of thing, And it's creepy looking, so now I'm left with the decision to shove this into a corner in the basement or ride this horse over to kohls on the Saturday before Christmas and return it.
  • I am OD'ing on Planters dry roasted peanuts right now....SO GOOD.

All the pistachios! They make salt and pepper ones, mmmm
