I have a doctor appointment today to check on my incision. 5 weeks PP and it's still bleeding... normal? My mom is off of work so I'm dropping LO off at her house before I go. I also made an appointment to get my hair cut - it's been so long since I had a trim! I'm a little excited for some pampering
And then Saturday is my husband's holiday work party and my parents are watching LO overnight. I'm freaking out - I feel like it's way too soon to be leaving him overnight but hubby insists we need a full night to ourselves... Me thinks he wants sexy time and I'm not sure I'm ready for that! :-O
Here's hoping everyone is getting a good night sleep and there are no fussy babies for anyone!!!
I'm up nursing DS and whenever he fusses my DH will wake up and say he is a cry baby and will often say DD never cried like that, um yes she did. Argh that annoys me when he says that! Listen man he is a newborn that's what they do!
I'm up pumping and trying out my new pumping bra! This thing is great, now I can get caught up on emails and have a snack while pumping. I also bought the car adapter for my pump, so I can try pumping in the car on my way to work in a few weeks. I'm nervous about driving and pumping, but there isn't really any other way... any advice on how to situate yourself for safety while driving and pumping would be appreciated!
After I pump, it's back to bed so I can lay there waiting for LO to wake up for her bottle. I miss being able to sleep!
Little man woke up to eat.. Then when I burped him he spit up- it came out his nose and everything. Poor guy- he was NOT happy about it and would NOT go back to sleep like he usually does after his 2:30am feeding.. So I got up and came to the living room to pump. He's back asleep.. I'm wide awake! This sucks.. I have a very busy day today so no time for naps! DS has his winter party at school today.
Up nursing and Jackson almost gave me three hours again. So nice after last night when I never got more than an hour and a half. But why don't baby boys have an understanding that they can do diaper change pees in the middle of the night? Seriously not fun and wakes me up. I've gotten to where I can change a diaper almost with my eyes closed but that only works when he doesn't pee everywhere! Oh well, at least he isn't as stuffy so far. I think moving the humidifier closer and doing the breast milk and nosefrida just before bedtime might have helped.
Hope everyone who is up gets to go back to sleep soon.
LO is wide awake! But I got 5 hrs! I needed it so bad, but now I wish he would go back to sleep. I have my 6 wk pp apt today! And would like a couple more hours of sleep before I have to leave the house.
@bloomraiser do yourself a favor and use labels!! I normally hand write, but this year I feel like people will forgive me since I have a newborn. Congrats on the Christmas shopping tho.
It is my birthday today. I can't sleep. Caleb is asleep in his R &P and I'm here in bed having anxiety about my anxiety. Tell me it gets better. I'm seriously considering buying myself a massage for my birthday present. I need to relax. I'm 34 years old today. Gah!!
Oh! To the ladies changing pee diapers at night. I don't. Its just pee. Unless your lo has sensitive skin and needs it of course.
I wish I could do this but I can't--it results in a pee soaked baby during the next change, but maybe my lil man just pees a lot!
He must! I leave A if it's just pee. It wakes her up if I do. No thanks!
Same! My LO never poops during the night. It made me feel like a bad mom at first but after the 3rd night in a row of having a super awake baby after she ate I couldn't do it anymore. I even changed her before she ate. It just woke her up too much and she wouldn't sleep for at least an hour after. No thank you.
I'm up and feeling resentful of DH. Last night he came home and took a 2 hour nap while I watched LO (even though I was home all day). I ended up not going to bed until 11pm. Woke up at 3am to nurse (I told him to wake me BC I had a blocked duct I needed LO to help out with). After nursing and pumping I go downstairs to find he hasnf washed any bottles and I'll need them for the next feeding. After I wash bottles it's 4am and I come to bed. Guess who is snoring like a lumberjack? I wake him up and ask him if he put on his breathe right strips and he says no.
So now I go into the other room where it takes me 45min to fall asleep and then LO is up again less than an hour later.
I can't go back to bed because I have an 8am LASIK follow up appt over an hour away and I just read roads are bad.
He better let me nap today because we have my work holiday party tonight! (Oh yeah and I still don't have my grab bag gift!)
DH made me laugh this morning. He wants to help out with a feed to give me a break so we decided that he would do the morning one between 6-7 so I could pump.
I fed LO at 3 and came back to bed at 3:40. DH woke up at 4 asking if it was time to feed him yet and subsequently woke up every 30 minutes or so asking if LO was hungry yet or if I had heard him cry. He was so afraid he's miss it. Finally LO woke up at 6:45 and DH said "I think I get why you're so tired. Not only do you have to get up in the night, but you spend the rest of the night not sleeping."
He won some points with that one! Good thing too because he had been running low.
Uh second day back at work and I'm still trying to sort through this mess that the girl who filled in for me left. I know some of you might have seen some of my comments about how I was holding her hand through EVERYTHING. Well I guess I should have just come into work the day after birth with my newborn and keep holding her hand. I am just amazed at how screwed up all my stuff is, I kind of knew there was going to be issues but not this bad. Then when she asked how it all look I told her about some of the big issues she just looks at me shurgs and says "Opps" X(
At least I have plenty to keep me busy for the next couple of weeks as I fixed everything
@smboswell1 ...I've been to Stone Mountain! I think a few months ago we were talking about St. Simons too. Sounds like we hit similar "vacation" spots.
I took the night off of bumping. Didn't want to keep bringing down the mood. Honestly I think my whole problem is that I am considering a solution that involves 3 people leaving the house everyday just so DH can stay home and work. Wouldn't it be easier for him to leave instead? (Not leave entirely of course, just work elsewhere.) BUT, I can't control what he does, I can only control how I respond to it. Better start getting my résumé together.
Good news is that DD slept well. Bad news is that she woke up almost 2 hours earlier than usual. LO keeps falling asleep while eating but waking when I put him down so, we are all on the couch watching Thomas and Friends. Honestly, that's not such a bad way to start the day.
Where are you from again?? I go to St. Simons every summer! Stone mountain is around the corner from me:)
@silverwings72 Happy Birthday! Treat yourself to something special and say it was a gift from LO!
DD woke up super happy that makes today so much easier however, she is only happy if I'm holding her, looks like not a whole lot is getting done today. Darn!
I see so many of you dressing your LOs in cute Christmas/dressier outfits... Where do you get them (particularly for boys - they seem much harder to find)? Maybe I'm looking in the wrong stores?

I get beckhams smocked outfits at this pharmacy type store. They are mainly at little boutiques!

We have a couple Christmas themed outfits for the little man but they're more casual. Fleece sleepers and onesies from Carters.
Adorable. I do like some of Carters Christmas outfits, but LO gets hot in a cotton sleeper, let alone a fleece sleeper.

LO slept 11-4am, 5-8 and is now back to sleep! Yaaaaaay!! I'm eating breakfast in bed watching Kelly & Michael and watching LO sleep. I feel like my boobs are making more milk these days I swear, which isn't a bad thing bc I'm starting to pump every day around this time so I can have DH help with feedings...so let the pumping begin!
I only have 2 weeks left of maternity leave, then it's back to work! I should be on here all the time then. I am really slacking at bumping between baby and Christmas, there is no time for anything else!! I am almost done shopping though and everything that has been bought so far is wrapped!

I'm up nursing the baby. Hopefully she goes back to sleep after this.
Hope everyone who is up gets to go back to sleep soon.
Parker is here! My sister gets home around 10:) I then have my pp appointment. Parker and I are climbing stone mountain after that!
Stone mountain is the random huge rock where I live. Haha. It's a mountain.
