Tuesday Randoms!

Re: Tuesday Randoms!

  • aw @jellybean707 I'm so sorry! That musta been so scary! kids are so smart though!

Speaking of all of these illnesses going around, I am soo annoyed. I have been sick now since saturday because my MIL thought it would be a good idea to hang with my daughter last week while she was sick. She doesn't actually watch her, her brother does, so she didn't HAVE to be at the house. But decided she wanted to be. So now I'm sick and cant breathe on top of not feeling great pregnancy wise. I just told my husband I'm not doing this again, if someone is sick I will stay home with my daughter rather than passing colds around for the remainder of this pregnancy. :(

  • I booked a massage for Thursday, I can't wait! There's so much to do at work before Christmas break. The office is closed for like ten days but I'm sure I'll be playing catch up at home.

I really want a bagel now...
  • My husband is in leave from work.

Guess who went to work today? My h. He is such a workaholic. It's Unreal.

Remember my rant a few weeks ago about traveling right before Christmas to my in laws?
Guess who's going now. Me. *Actually I've gotta clear it with my mfm now, but my midwife said it was fine. * you know though. ... I'm kinda looking forward to it now. I'll have help with the kids. I won't have to cook. I'll just go and relax. Then we'll come home and have Christmas and then my mom gets here on the 26th.

Also, as if the last 2 or 3 days have been stressful, my H got pulled over last night returning movies. Seriously, he's gotta get his shit together. Lol.

....... I'm calling him now to tell him to stay out of trouble, and after today we need to stay home until we leave this weekend.

  • I really did plan on working right up until I go into labor.. but it seriously gets harder and harder, physically and mentally, everyday to actually go in and pull 12 hours.. this week its 12 on, 12 off today through Thurs. If only my mind wasn't so exhausted I know I could handle it physically!
  • Just realized its one month exactly until maternity leave starts for me. And Next week I'm only working Monday and a half day on Tuesday then off until January 2nd due to travelling for christmas and my sisters wedding so even though I will have to "work" from my moms house I wont be coming into office. Then its back for two weeks of work then off until May 1. I am sooo looking forward to some relaxing and snuggling with both my little kiddos in the winter while everyone else sloshes in the snow to work  ;) evil, I know!
  • I woke up this morning to the sound of my DS2 falling down a flight of stairs. Talk about an adrenaline rush--fastest I've moved this whole pregnancy! Thankfully, he's completely fine, and was mostly upset that he dropped his toy train. Seriously, I swear boys are made of rubber.

We're going to a friend's Christmas party tonight, and I'm both looking forward to it and dreading it.

Who are all of the people posting in the birth announcement thread? I mean, they've got cute babies and all, but I've never heard of half of them!

I assumed they were Facebook jumpers. We weren't deemed cool enough to spend their pregnancy with but when it comes time for an announcement MUSTTELLALLTHEPEOPLE!!111!
    ----------------

Nope. I'm in the fb group and they definitely aren't from that group. Truly just random people.

  • Later start today than usual. DH has court today for a totally messed up situation with his employer not sending in the child support he pays. If you remember my post about it a couple months ago, donuts to you lol.
But he got to sleep in a bit so it made me try to stay too. I've been getting all the Christmas presents I ordered online this week, so I get to start wrapping!!!

Sorry to all the sick/no sleep mommies and the ones with sick kiddos. Hope everyone gets better soon!

Try to have a good day everybody!
  • LadyXaverian, personally I am so over my dog. I feel like a jerk but he is doing this new thing where he runs away when I open the door and pregnant lady can't catch up. I told my husband I'm about to shut the door on him and let him freeze (ok I really wouldn't do that but seriously he's a 7 year old lab, he DOES actually know better) I am seriously considering my mom and dad's offer of taking the dog. They beg me every time they see him because in general he is really awesome, I just have no patience for his whining (he cries like a puppy every morning and sometimes at night) and the running away is putting me at a boiling point.
AND MEN- ugh leave it to the husbands to cover their heads while you run around taking care of anything WHILE pregnant

and as for the FHA loan thing, that is a pain in the A$$, is there anyway you can speak to the realtor about the buyer covering these costs at this point?
  • I wanted to rant on my dog too, but figured I'd get a ton of backlash. Lol. I'm over her at this point too. She gets up on my couch, up on the high chair, begging for food ect. She doesn't listen and she will leave the yard/house at any given chance. I feel the same way, just letting her go at times.
I'm so busy and overwhelmed with the kids though *especially my teenager* that I just don't have time for dealing with a dog too.
I may ask my mom to just take her when she leaves.

  • @labellavida, thats why we're buddies :) I'm sure many people don't understand the dog feelings because some people are all warm and fuzzy about their dogs (my sil carries hers around like a human toddler and it is a lab) and I truly do love my dog but I'm pretty sure pregnancy has given me no patience and when he wakes up my toddler with his whining I really wanna kill someone. Like my daughter sleeps through the night but for some reason all of a sudden you can't? Nope, ain't no body got time for that and if he doesn't get better and does this when I have a newborn....

@LaBellaVida‌ damn, when it rains it pours. Fingers crossed that you get a relaxing visit with the ILs. Anything you want to share about your teenager? Teenagers can really, really suck. Also, no flaming from me about your dog. Mine has been an asshole a lot lately. I still love the stupid furry baby.

He's just struggling with high school. Actually, he's flat out refusing to do school work. He's failing big time, and despite me trying to help, and working with the school he still just refuses to do anything. We are playing catch up with missing assignments, and only have a month left before the semester ends.
Found out from his math teacher he's got a girlfriend. Which is fine.... Just not ready for all that. Found inappropriate emails between him and another girl from school. It was mainly on her end, but still.... Again not ready for all that.
I was doing laundry over the weekend. My H went to get something out of his jeans, and picked up my son's jeans by accident. Found an open condom. (I fully believe he's not having sex, he was curious about it) but yet again, just not ready for all this!

That's pretty much the gist of it all.

  • We should be driving to Mommy and Me right now but they always start late and DS is still asleep.  I am enjoying some orange holiday cake and tea while I bump and am not going to feel bad about being late, since they always seem to start at least 30 min late!
  • @saiven‌ I agree.

He's actually going to Arizona for Christmas to spend with his dad. I'm actually looking forward to it. I normally don't like him gone, but I'm really stressed out, and overwhelmed. I'll send all his missing work with him and his dad can just deal with it with him. I need to recharge.

And to be honest, I'm sure he can use a break away from me too.

@cotyb I'm really beginning to understand why maternity leave in European countries starts 4-8 weeks before the due date. Getting to work is getting impossible. @LadyXaverian‌ sorry you didn't get much more sleep and that the house stuff isn't going as smoothly as it's supposed to. Sending you hugs! @Firefly3911‌ so jealous of your new chair (and excited for you). Can't believe you'll have an outside baby in like 2 weeks!
You are the sweetest! Always taking time to respond as much as you can to each person. Puts me to shame.  :((
    I agree 100% with @Firefly3911
  • @firefly3911 The most current thing that has come up is truly something that has to be done to satisfy her loan. We previously negotiated other things (help with closing costs etc..) that were upon her request. Those things are already signed, sealed, and delivered, so to speak, so we can't back out of any of that to try to help with this lender request issue.

@britb618 Yes, we've been asking about trying to get her to contribute. She's a single, first-time home buyer, and quite frankly, based on everything I know, I'm not sure how well equipped she is financially to own this home. She definitely has nothing to contribute at this point, and we're close to having nothing, so hopefully we can squeak by because I think I would fall apart if it all fell through at this stage in the game.

@saiven Thanks for the hugs. :)

@LaBellaVida and Brit, I'm sorry you're having those feelings about your dogs. We wouldn't give ours up-- they're ours and we're theirs for the long haul. However, we went through a lot when our oldest was born with us having hard feelings towards them, and their place in our family definitely changed. They used to be our babies, but now they are more like our pets. I know that sounds sad to those whose pets are like their babies. Believe me, it was incredibly hard for us to go through having those feelings. We still love them and care for them-- they're not neglected in any way, but they no longer sleep with us or have full reign of the house. They are limited to certain parts of the house, and they have their own area where they sleep now (on cushy dog beds- they're doing fine lol). I guess my word to the wise would be that it gets worse before it gets better, but try to remember that they are going through a confusing transition, too, as you welcome baby and their routines get changed up. Good luck!

  • thanks @ladyxavarian, I never would really give him up and my daughter loves him way tooo much. I just need a little space from him and it would be great if my husband would get a damn chain for him to go outside on. We use to have a fenced in HUGE yard, now we have a non fenced in huge yard plus half our property is just trees and little creeks so he loves to go in there and get in trouble. He will legit look at me as I open the door and then run, I call him he looks back stops for a second and then just goes. So he def. knows he shouldn't but he does anyway. I agree that he is def. now a pet and not my baby like he used to be (seriously almost didn't take the bar exam b/c he was in the hospital). I'm hoping my lack of patience is due to the pregnancy and that eventually I will be more patient with him. But really I'm just hoping he will adjust to the new house and stop running off, that would solve both the problems. I know the whining will never end because he's done this since he was a puppy at least he sleeps on the first floor now and he's not at my door making the noise like he used to be!

No warm and fuzzies for my dog right now, he is up my ass 24/7 and its driving me insane. Plus he keeps getting under my feet and tripping me up. Grrrrr
  • My friend's 2 week old sleeps for 5 hour chunks at a time. I am so jealous! At least I know not to expect that? :/

  • I'm seriously soooo over work. My schedule has been super jacked up. I worked Wednesday/Thursday, had Friday off, then work Saturday, Sunday, Monday. Yesterday was supposed to be an 8 hour as they are required to limit my hours because of how far along I am but low and behold we didn't have the staff to support me leaving so I freaking stayed for my third 12 hour shift in a row.

And to top it off I've been cramping now for three days and each day it feels like it's getting worse. It's really nagging on my FTM brain as I want to know what the heck is going on in there!! Haha. Thankfully I have a regular appointment in just a little bit.

  • I'm 35+2 weeks with baby #2. I had really terrible side pain Sunday night (brought me to tears) which didn't go away by Monday morning. Called the on-call doctor, she said she'd meet me in labor and delivery. Two hours later was sent home with a diagnosis of intercostal muscle strain, the muscles that hold your ribs together, and some pain medication. Doctor said either baby stretching or my chronic cough, which I now have antibiotics for, caused this. It hurts to breathe, it hurts to stretch, it hurts to sit up, it hurts to cough or sneeze or laugh, and the percocet that I'm on now makes me completely loopy or fall asleep... so I'm missing work for the second day. Hubby stayed home with me yesterday, but today I'm curled up on the couch, hurting, bored and lonely. Doc said the muscle strain can take 2-6 weeks to heal, sure hoping it's gone before baby comes!

Loving not because I actually love but to show support. Also, welcome to the randoms thread. :)

  • I'm late to the party today. I'm excited for everyone who's had good appointments today it's exciting some of you are getting some close!! I can commiserate with those who feel crappy and/or sleep deprived. I was up pretty much all night. At around 5:30 I finally woke DH up for some spontaneous sexy time since it has not been happening much lately and I wasn't feeling too terrible at the moment. I asked him if he minded me waking him up and he said "can't be too picky these days" haha!

I think part of why I can't sleep is that I've been having a lot of anxiety about the end of this pregnancy. Not even about my RCS, more about possibly getting pre-e/needing mag again. Most of all my MIL leaves the country next week for two weeks and we will be up shit creek if baby decides to come then. I know I can round up someone to keep DD, but I worry that my anxiety about leaving her with someone unfamiliar would make birth even more stressful. Basically I'm anxious about being anxious and feeling out of control about being out of control... very productive emotions!

  • Christmas Luncheon concert at school tomorrow.  Staff band rehearsal after school.  Then there's the staff social party.  I already know I don't have the energy to be social, especially knowing DH won't be home until post-DS's bedtime tonight.  And I have the student dress rehearsal period 1 tomorrow to look forward to.  I just want to have a big glass of red wine ice cold Diet Pepsi, take off my compression socks, get into sweats and order pizza.

  • Had and u/s and nst today and all is well with the baby.

Afterwards, took DS to Costco for lunch.  While I was there I saw that they were selling cabbage patch kids for $10 so I bought one.  I'm going to ask DD is she wants it, if not we will keep it for birthdays or we will donate it.  Still not bad for $10.
  • @littlefoote‌
Haha, people think the they're so funny, huh? I had an elderly lady ask me if I'd "dropped" last Sunday during a church luncheon because she said my bump looked lower. I told her yes, that it seemed that she'd dropped a bit. Immediately, she said, "Oh my! Don't go having that baby right here in the fellowship hall today!!"
    Um, okay, I won't. :)
  • I was falling asleep at my desk at work, but a huge black & white cookie saved the day. Now baby is going nuts on a sugar rush and I'm jumpy (but still tired overall :( ). I think I will balance it out with a nice big mug of pregnancy tea.

My EDD is in 2 weeks. Thinking I will try to negotiate working from home from the 26th until I go into labor. Hopefully I won't have to take too many vacation days before I start my leave (which will happen whenever baby comes).
