I went to L&D Friday night because I was have BH contractions every two minutes for over 3 hours. Nothing I did stopped them. So, I called and went in for monitoring. They were one minute apart and lasting about 30sec when I was there. Not doing anything though, so they sent me home. BH were back to being sporadic yesterday. Between all the contractions and cervical checks, I am SORE.
Glad that LO gets to stay put a little longer though. This is going to be a long month, I think.
I feel like a bad mom. I keep switching from breast to formula. I don't feel like a bad mom because of the formula, but for the constant switching, I feel like in confusing the hell out of him. Poor baby one minute he lathes perfectly like before, and now, nothing but is soooooo hungry. Anyone have any tips?
@VioletGjoni Have you worked with a lactation consultant on these issues? There are tons of things that might help, but it all depends on how committed you want to be to breast feeding. I think it is super hard in the beginning for most people. It was a HUGE struggle for me with my son at first, but we did everything in our power to make it happen. I worked with a lactation consultant and just stuck with it. I will promise you this, if you get through the first 6-8 weeks, it gets SO MUCH easier. I had to use a nipple shield for a while. I honestly hated it, but without it we probably wouldn't have made it because of latch issues in those early weeks. Good luck!
Boobs are back to leaking. ... just washed pjs and already have spots. Ugh! DH is amused but I'm more annoyed
Same here but my DH is NOT amused... I don't think he's looking forward to sharing he eyes the breast pump sitting in the corner like it's his new enemy
My EDD is Jan. 3 and I'm getting so sick of people saying they hope baby comes early so we get the tax deduction. I so don't care about that.
My EDD is Jan 14th and I keep getting it too. I always respond, that'd be two weeks early so let's hope not. Also the further away from Christmas the better. It's ridiculous how often people feel the need to say it.

French toast this morning for me also. It was amazing.
I finally feel like my "must buy before baby list" is pretty much completed now. H has been amazing lately as I go through mini anxiety freakouts or complain about pain/discomfort/frustration. He has truly been amazing! I think he's just as nervous as I am, but is taking his role as support person very seriously to keep me calm. Thank God for the birthing class. Ever since the class it's like everything clicked for him and what he should do and he's very proud of his role.
Waaay too many "amazings" but I'm too lazy to think of synonyms.

Tell me about it! I'm pretty much experiencing the same thing you are.
We've had a busy but productive weekend so far. Getting Christmas present wrapped and got my hospital bag packed! I'm 34 weeks tomorrow and with my pre-e history and creeping protein and BP I feel like I need to be ready to roll at any appointment (but hopefully baby will still have a few weeks of cooking left to do).
We took DD to see Santa yesterday and she was not feeling it. She didn't cry but had this look ok "who the hell is the guy and why am I sitting on his lap". That morning she did the cheesiest smile, but for the Santa pic, no dice! I love the awkward Santa pics though! Now to AW my little one as usual
Hope everyone with pain/contractions/insomnia/etc can get some relief. We're in the home stretch ladies!!
Random 1: Today is my husbands only day off until Christmas so last night he decided he was going to have a few drinks. A "few" turned into 5 very large rum and cokes, and a pretty entertaining synopsis on how he thinks my delivery will go lol. Around 2am we both got hungry so I heated up some leftover tacos because I thought they would be a better alternative to junk food. I'm now awake with heartburn and my husband is passed out in bed. I'm tempted to let the dogs we are watching loose in there to wake him up, but I'm pretty sure he's going to have a hangover so I'll be nice.
Random 2: We found out last night that my husband's dad, step mom, brother and sister are coming down on the 26th and will be here for our shower!!! I'm so excited to see them! We haven't seen his dad since January when his niece was born, and his step mom, brother and sister since last August! Although now I feel like I have to get my butt in gear to finish painting the nursery and get the house back in shape because I've been slacking bad...
Random 3: I was just looking at my calendar and I realized that I have one week of work left before winter break starts! Sometimes my pregnancy brain gives me awesome little surprises! Lol
I'm sorry so many of you are having trouble sleeping. I have my good nights and my bad ones. I hope you all find a way to get some good rest soon
@VioletGjoni don't feel bad. Breast feeding is not easy. I have a lot of friends who struggled or are struggling with it. You are doing the best you can and that's all your baby needs. My friends have told me that practice and patience are the best approaches to breast feeding. I hope everything works out for you soon.
My H is still sleeping! It's freaking 820 am! He is supposed to take the kids out shopping today, and I was hoping they'd be gone by 9 am so I can enjoy a few hours alone. (Seahawks are on at 125 pm so they'll be home for that.) I want to paint my nails. Wrap presents. Do laundry, and pick up my room.
A pedicure sounds so delightful though, so maybe I'll go do that, or maybe I'll wait for tomorrow since my H is on leave for a few weeks.
We're brewing the Baby Beer today. It's a mango hibiscus blonde ale, which will turn out pink. It should be ready right around when she is due.
That's awesome! My H used to brew beer but never did anything fun like that!
My randoms: I downloaded a parenting book. I never thought I would be one of "those parents."
We are going out to dinner for my sisters birthday tonight. I'm not looking forward to it at all. She is 22 years old and acts like she's 2 most of the time. She actually called me last night to make sure I was making her a birthday cake?! What?! This was never mentioned before! She said it's not a birthday without cake and I told her to make her own damn cake! I'm not sure if I'm being unreasonable because I'm 8 months pregnant or if she is a giant self centered ass like I think... I kind of want to return her birthday present because of it.
I am also sick of people saying things like: "How great would it be to have a Christmas baby", "You would get a ton of great stuff if she was born on the 1st!", or of course "If she is born before the 1st you get the tax deduction"....... 1. A Christmas baby would be difficult to ever have a good birthday because we would be traveling to see family all the time.... 2. My birthday is New Years day and it SUCKS because nothing is ever open (including the drivers bureau which really sucks when you turn 15, 16, or 21).... 3. I don't care about the tax break its still too close to Christmas!
I really just want to go off on the next person that makes one of those comments.... pretty sure becoming ever more uncomfortable is bringing out the b**ch in me. Look out world, we got about 3 more weeks of this! LOL
My EDD is Jan. 3 and I'm getting so sick of people saying they hope baby comes early so we get the tax deduction. I so don't care about that.
That annoys me too, My due date is Jan 8th and I'm actually hoping baby hangs on to at least Jan 1 because if I go out before the end of the year, my 2015 vacation time that I am adding to maternity leave would be pro-rated. I dont want to have less days with the new baby because its 12/30 instead of 1/2 or something
I think my middle of the night cleaning the other night sparked a fire under SO's butt because the next two days he had someone over clearing everything out of his office.
Picked up the cradle that my grandpa made for my mom 64 years ago. So excited to be using it for this LO.
Real nervous because SO is competing Iron Chef style for a chance at winning $10K. $5K for a charity of choice, which would be the one we run & $5K for him to keep, which would be awesome for Christmas presents.
Ugh. Baby has settled in my hips, it feels like. This whole past week my hip, the whole belt area, keeps getting this stabbing pain. The only way to get rid of it is to sit on all fours with my head on the floor. It hurts! If anyone else has other ideas to get comfortable, I'll take them!
This.
Try a heating pad- it has been my saving grace!! The pain is the worst at night.
It drives me nuts that we have had dense fog for the past 2 days and cars still drive around without their headlights on. I can't even see down our road more than a couple houses.
@papapalie - thank you so much! That's Maddie, and she will be 7 in March. She's eagerly awaiting her little sister, which will apparently be "the best Christmas present ever!" She told Santa about her and everything
After two days and thousands of pee breaks later I am done painting the nursery! I was going to finish the purple next weekend but now that I know my husbands dad, step mom and siblings are coming down I had to finish it today! Lol I'm very proud of myself I even managed to convince my husband to go to Lowes to "look" at borders and/or chair rails to separate the colors. Momma's getting sh*t done today!
I wanted to make some fudge this morning. The recipe my mom used to use calls for sweetened condensed milk and I accidentally picked up evaporated milk... So I had to DIY the sweetened condensed part and adjust the recipe... It's setting in the fridge now. I guess if it doesn't set correctly, I'll just have to eat it all by myself. Oh darn.
In regard to the comment about the tax deduction-- I'm due Jan 9th. The only reason I'd REALLY be ok with DD2 coming before Jan 1st is we have to switch insurance and the plan DH's company is dropping is WAY better than the one we have to switch to in benefits for L&D, so it would save us a butt ton there in money and headaches.
But definitely above all, healthy, live take home baby and mom is the goal.
My EDD is Jan. 3 and I'm getting so sick of people saying they hope baby comes early so we get the tax deduction. I so don't care about that.

Same here - my EDD is Jan 14 and ppl keep telling me that he might come during the holidays. I am so annoyed that I've started telling ppl that if that's their thoughts we can talk after baby is born.
We're brewing the Baby Beer today. It's a mango hibiscus blonde ale, which will turn out pink. It should be ready right around when she is due.

@LuckyPenny1231 I totally think your sister is being selfish. I'm also confused as to why she just can't get dessert at the restaurant.
I know. He's pissed. I'm pissed. It was supposed to be enjoyable spending time with the kids shopping for me, but the kids are fighting. Owen crying. Now his whole wallet and couple hundred bucks, gone! Hopefully he just misplaced it. Or someone was kind enough to turn it in.
Funny random.... DH and I just ran to gas station to buy him beer and me a slushy. The cashier asked for both our IDs and I realized I left mine at home. I rubbed my huge belly said, "Look I'm obviously not going to drink any beer, I just want my slushy!" She checked DH's ID and handed me my slushy lol
God news. He found his wallet. Bad news. All of the $20's were missing. That's it. The rest of the cash was there.
Lost only 100 bucks.
Some 'store employee' found the wallet. Husband demanded they look on the video of who had it because customer service claims they don't know who. *Bull shit* and they said they don't look back on the film. *Bull*. So he's dropping the kids off and he's heading back to talk to the store manager.
At least it was only 100 bucks, but still..... shitty.
@LaBellaVida-- but the license is in it? Not having to get a new one might be worth losing $100 since you'd lose more than that in time equivalent of your life waiting for a new one at the DMV... (Or are you a Canadian mom... Do they have such inefficient offices up there? haha)

Yes. Everything was in it. Just $100 was taken. Only in $20's. He had 5's, 10's and dollar bills in there, but only the bigger bills were taken. He said he remembers leaving it at customer service because he was going to pay and order something. Then he left. The customer service employees claim that a store worker turned the wallet in, but "didn't know who. " anyway. .... He's heading back now to talk to the actual store manager since he's the only one allowed to watch the film back. Hopefully it'll show who at customer service had possession of the wallet.
I told him though, at least it was only 100 bucks. It could have been worse. Still shitty. ... But it's not the end of the world, and we'll recover just fine.
Just sucks though that someone (potentially a store worker) would steal.

If they refuse to pull video, report it to authorities...they will have to review it then. Also if he had any debit cards please watch your accounts to be sure no unexpected charges come up.
Sorry to all of the ladies with aches and haven't been sleeping well I've had some aches but I have been sleeping ok. We're almost there!
I had a really weird dream last night that I tried to breast feed my dog. Then I had another dream I worked part time at an adult store.
I texted my mom during church this morning (my parents played church hookie) that "baby" wanted her chocolate chip cookies. I...I mean baby, had been craving them. She text me back saying she was in the process of baking them. Guess where I went after church
Want to AW, but not start a separate post. I ran/walked 5 miles in the dallas marathon today!!! I used to be pretty overweight, so this is MAJOR for me
@LaBellaVida, @StarLiteKiss is right - my friend lost her wallet, and someone turned it in to customer service. Everything was still there. A few days later, huge charges started appearing from her CC and debit, which she still had. Her having the cards gave the thief time to do what he wanted without worrying she was going to cancel them since she thought she was safe. It's a total pain, but I would prob cancel everything in that wallet. OR, at least make the banks aware that his wallet wasn't in his possession for a bit in case charges do show up. We're still fighting with Comerica over charges to my husbands debit he didn't make that are over $1,000 when he didn't report his card stolen in a timely manner. Not fun.

We are reporting it. They started to review the tape but was "stopped" by loss prevention and said they were not allowed to review it. Something feels off here. So we are going to report it.
I've already put a block on the cards. They were in the wallet anyway.
Ugh that sucks about your husbands wallet and the 100 bucks. Some stores request a warrant to look at security video so reporting it would be good. I hope they catch the person who did it.
