I followed the steps from this link: https://m.wikihow.com/Use-Acupressure-to-Induce-Labour

Basically you massage the web of skin between your thumb and pointer finger, then massage the tips of your fingers, then finally a point above your ankle on each leg.

I'm still a little dubious about how effective it is, but I did have a wave of contraction so... Idk! Let me know if it works for you! :)
  • I will! But i need to let babe chill a bit more in the mean time i can figure out if i still have ankles ;)
  • Also i am sorry i cant offer any advice i cant see tickers and am unsure of how far along he is

I feel like a bad mom. I keep switching from breast to formula. I don't feel like a bad mom because of the formula, but for the constant switching, I feel like in confusing the hell out of him. Poor baby :( one minute he lathes perfectly like before, and now, nothing but is soooooo hungry. Anyone have any tips?

Do not feel bad! You are doing what you need to do. I breastfed my daughter and it went pretty well but we also did a fair amount of supplementing with formula (which I hadn't planned on). In the first days there is just so much to deal with and sometimes you have to do what you have to do to make sure they are getting food. If they get overly hungry they can't latch to nurse. We would sometimes give her a all bottle so that she was in a better place to work on nursing. Do not stress yourself out about it. If you get stressed the baby can feel that and then you both end up upset. In the end, I loved that we did breast and bottle feeding, the flexibility worked out really well for us. One thing we did (that someone told us to do) was that early on I tried to avoid being the one feeding the baby a bottle, someone else did that and then with me we just did the breast. It seemed to work, she breastfed for a year. It will be fine. Cut yourself some slack and try not to worry or get too upset, babies like to keep us on our toes and get us to change our plans. Hang in there!
  • I'm officially uncomfortable. I'm 35 weeks today and it's just gonna get worse. Pregnancy was so much easier at 17/18 than it is at 30.

  • This weekend has not gone how I wanted it to go and I'm really angry about it. I need to suck it up and move on but I'm just annoyed. We have ALOT to get done before Wednesday (induction day) and today was ruined by an all day trip to l&d. I'm glad I'm Ok and everything and baby flipped but damnit it ruined my shopping/cleaning day.

  • I also moved to the couch. 4am and I can't sleep. Not comfortable on the couch but I had a snack and am watching netflix...

  • @VioletGjoni‌ definitely do not feel bad about switching back and forth. With my first, I had a difficult time nursing (he was tongue-tied and we didn't know right away) so we flip flopped between a bottle and breast. He was able to catch on and had no trouble with nipple confusion, despite what lactation consultants say.

Good luck to you and great job doing what is best for you baby! What a great momma you are!

  • Haven't been on much this weekend and looks like I've missed some fun.

Getting ready to leave for our half-marathon. Not really sure how it's going to go. It's warm out there today so I'm very glad I'm not running the full this year. I'll try to post an update later to tell how it goes.
Good luck! Glad the weather is cooperating!

  • I think I'm about to become a broken record. Woke up after sleeping on my left side for a few and took my BP. 144/86. Whyyyyyyy.

You are doing the right thing!  I had 3 that wouldn't latch at all; I know it is tough but kid's gotta eat!

  • My baby girl is on her way! Crazy that she'll be here today, a little over 3 weeks early.
    Good luck to you!

  • So I'm awake after another restless night between BP issues and mild contractions. And when I finally get to sleep my 7yo wakes up and expects me to get up right then and there.

Today is going to consist of cleaning car (inside and out) installing car seat, cleaning house and packing hospital bag once I decide what I need/want since my stay will be 3-4 days. After the ammusing "hospital bag threads", I think I'm set on ideas between booze booze, pam spray, booze and emu oil :-P oh and more booze?

Fiance thinks DD is going to come tomorrow and wants her to(it will be his dads bday, his dad passed away) because of contractions and mucus plug loss. I keep telling him No she has to bake for at least one more week. The longer the better. But it is like talking to a brick wall of course.
  • I just dropped a spoon on the floor and got the worst pain bending to pick it up.  Woke up sweating my ass off (thanks for leaving the heat on DH) and still have that Charlie Horse pain in my calf.  So tired and I have to work today.  I hate dealing with cranky idiots and standing on my feet. My boss said I could go on leave now but we really need the money. 14 more days of this misery and bullshit?!?  Wahhh.  Whiny bitch rant over.

  • Up early this morning with achy joints, headache, and built up sinus pressure. I sure hope whatever this is isn't planning on sticking around long. I've heard the flu shot they're giving out has already shown to be ineffective to one of the common strands showing up this year

    @mandikins27‌ I'm 37w3d, so it's game on for me :)

This scares me...37 is not full term! Be careful, baby will come when ready. Not much longer now!

37w is early term, not full term! :( You still run the risk of NICU issues at this point.
    -----

Yes, this is too early and trying to self induce now seems very selfish. 37 weeks is not full term.

    ---- quote fail----

Yikes, I phrased that a little too jokingly! Don't worry, I'm not trying to give birth now. Hoping she stays put till 39-40 weeks.

(I just saw the acupressure link and was like, "this is probably BS", and then it actually gave me a cramp. I only did it twice though- the second time to see if I imagined it. Then I stopped!)

I do feel like, "here we go..!"now that I'm past 37 weeks though :stuck_out_tongue:
  • Our shower yesterday was pretty successful. SIL (the hostess) decided not to do mimosas at all so I'm extra glad I did the Bloody Mary bar. About 80% of the vodka handle was gone, and I sent the rest home with the last person to leave -- which actually wasn't my SIL. She kinda bailed and didn't really help clean up. I was kinda like... seriously? The main reason we had the shower at our house instead of hers is because they live in BFE and not really close to us or any of our friends. She also made a kinda snarky comment to DH about his mom (our MIL) babysitting two days a week for us when I go back to work, saying that one of the reasons she's a SAHM is because they didn't have anyone to help them like that. This coming from the person who has said she doesn't go to church anymore partly because she doesn't want to leave her kids with a Sunday school teacher... for an hour. I don't think she would've left her first kid at home with anyone, even our MIL, even if it was offered.

Idk why it bothered me so much. She says stuff like that all the time and I know she's not trying to be hateful. She's just not terribly bright and doesn't think before she speaks.

I'm just a big pregnant bitch. That's probably partly why it bothers me.
  • Family is annoying. It'd piss me off too

  • Boobs are back to leaking. ... just washed pjs and already have spots. Ugh! DH is amused but I'm more annoyed

Sorry your sister-in-law wasn't very helpful but glad that your shower was successful.

On another note...a Bloody Mary sounds amazing!
