I took Zoloft until my BFP. My OB and GP were fine with me continuing it throughout pregnancy, but I wanted to try going off it for the baby. Maybe see if you can switch to Zoloft?
The line I heard from both is that the mothers health is ultimately most important to the baby, and if being healthy included being mentally healthy, then so be it.
Even if your doctor for some reason says it's ok I would really try to find another way to manage your depression while pregnant because Paxil is category D which means there is evidence that it causes birth defects. There may be another medication that's safer, I would ask.
Have any other women been advised to continue paxil use during pregnancy? What was the outcome for you? And please, no lectures about presceiption drug use, etc. Thanks
This is a specific question for your health providers. Others' experiences mean nothing for you or whether you should continue your drugs. Please talk to your doctor.
I am aware aware. I am just wondering how other women in the same situation felt emotionally about continuing the medication.
This is something that is such a personal experience, I'm not sure what you would get from other peoples experiences.
We don't know you or your medical history, and you don't know us or our medical history. Asking internet strangers for their experiences means nothing when it's not in context.
This is a conversation between you and your doctor.
Exactly.
If you are looking for others who made the same choice so you can feel like you have "permission" to do so? Do you feel guilty for continuing the drug?
Wow. Everyone needs to chill. Why get your panties in a bunch over something a stranger did on a message board? If someone can tell me how to actually delete it, that would help. However, there does not appear to be a delete option.

You can't. It's a message board. That's the point. No delete for you... Why delete though, honestly?

You have to do what feels right for you.
