Hello ladies! I'm up feeding LO. We have a busy day today, MIL is leaving and we are going to an ugly sweater party. Hopefully Ellie will go back to sleep after this which will make the day a lot easier on mom.
Thanks to all for the well wishes for my friend. MIL watched LO yesterday afternoon so I could go visit her. She's actually doing pretty well. She's walking with the aid of a cane and her speech is almost normal. Her biggest issue is her right arm - it isn't working at all right now. Doctors said it could take several months for it to return. But she's in good spirits
I feel like I had something else to say but it's escaping me at the moment. Hope everyone has a nice weekend!
So LO now refuses to wake up through out the night, past couple nights when he cries for food or to be changed he won't open his eyes. Even through a diaper change and eating he doesn't open his eyes! He's like a teenager refusing to wake up!
Ha! I agree! Now I have never been to boot camp but I very much feel like this is what it could be like? Just a cuter version. And instead of a large man barking in your face its your newborn screaming "FEED ME". Then drop and give me 20. I feel like new moms need basic training in sleep deprivation.
@Econosaurus my post was in reply to yours for some reason its not showing up like that. Maybe bc I am mobile bumping? Maybe bc my newborn drill sergeant is sleeping on me and my eyes are half open? Im not sure which.
Woke up 10 mins ago from engorgement pain in my left one so I decided to sneak downstairs and pump. Then FI joined me with the baby. Was she awake? No. Why did he bring her down? For a visit. WTF stay in bed you guys
Aww. Sweet husband just got home. He promised Addison they would finish the garland on the tree. Which takes what 5 minutes max. He's complaining he's too tired and too sick to do it. He told me I don't understand what it's like. STFU dude
I call it the "man cold". It's ridiculous and I can't stand it when DH is sick. Luckily it doesn't happen often in our house.
DS did NOT sleep well last night. He nursed a lot (which was obviously my job), but when he was fussy and didn't rest afterward, poor H managed it all. I woke up to DS making his little grunting noises this morning, and H rolled over and said, "I've been up with him for an hour." Poor guy. He has to work this morning, too. I took the baby and went to the other side of the house to give H a little rest.
My little one slept from 10pm to 7am. I think it's because of her traumatic shot experience yesterday morning so I do not expect it again, but I feel so good.
Sorry, not trying to be a jerk to you sleep deprived ladies, just need to share my joy.

Jealous but so happy for you. Enjoy the rested feeling!!
LO didn't let mama sleep hardly at all last night ): was up from 2:30-6 and just woke up about 15 minutes ago poking at my chest like a chicken. Last night made me wanna thinking about switching to formula just so I can get some help prolly won't tho just a thought.
Little Gio slept well last night. Out by 11 and not back up til 4!!! Then back up at six because of a giant poop filled diaper and back out again! Still sleeping at 9:38!!

April figured out how to unswaddle (is that a word?) herself. She won't sleep unless she's swaddled. So, all night she played the fun game of "I'm going to keep unswaddling myself, then scream my head off until mommy comes in and fixes me." (Side note - clearly it's time to invest in the Halo sleep sacks, but right now all we have are the A&A blankets.) As soon as I'd get her settled, her sister would wake up.
DH "didn't hear" anything, so of course he slept peacefully all night. I'm not even gonna touch that one!
I feel like I'm totally failing at this twin mom thing I'm a walking zombie & need ALL the coffee today.
@MrsC430 being a twin mommy must be ao, so hard. We love the velcro swaddlers too because they have the option for an arms-free swaddle. Gets a real nice tight swaddle too.
LO usually takes a 4 oz bottle every 2-3 hrs and takes about 20-25 minutes paced feeding. Last night, she wanted to spend a half hour to take 2 oz then snooze then just as I put her down, wake up w/ hungry cues an hour later. Give her another 2 oz and 30 minutes later, she's dozing off again.
I burp her and she wakes up and stays quietly alert, cooing in the PNP. After another half hour, I'm about to turn lights off on her when she's fussing again.
This went on from 9 pm to 1 am. Not that I wasn't in wonderment that she could quietly entertain herself by cooing, but I was just soooo tired by that point.
DH took her to sing Christmas carols (even though he'd been nodding off giviq her the last bottle). That seemed to calm her enough where he just left her to fall asleep. Yay for sleep.
LO had a rough night last night but DH took the entire night to give me a break. I feel bad for him. I was up twice to pump and never set another alarm as he usually just brings me the baby monitor when it's my turn, but I woke up on my own at 7am and he said he knew I needed sleep.
Now in just worried about him because when he gets run down he gets the man cold and ain't nobody got time for that.
I'm still trying to muster up the motivation to continue working on the papers I have due today. LO is sleeping soundly on me, so I *should* be hard at work. And I also just want to nap. Procrastinators FTW!

Has anyone ordered anything from zulily? I placed an order 2 weeks ago and haven't heard anything besides order confirmation. When does it ship? ???? How can you run an internet business that takes forever to deliver a product?

They won't ship until after the sale is closed. It could be anywhere from the next day to a month later I don't order things I need right away from them! The other option is to only shop the sales that are about to end, but that means missing deals.
So DH went out running errands because LO's baptism is tomorrow. I wanted to make punch with rainbow sherbert and ginger ale, but DH bought orange sherbert.
can you make a punch with just orange sherbert and ginger ale? Or do I need the rainbow?
Ok so another random question...does anyone have any experience with those robot vacuum cleaners? Was thinking of getting my mom one for Christmas, but didn't know if they were any good (I'm not buying the $600 version, was looking at ones in the $200 price range). Also, do they work on tile floors?

Our family uses lime sherbet. They call it green slime.
@targetpopcornmomma I'm lucky in that since I used to be the office manager at DH's work and trained my replacement, I was able to email her myself to add Jackson. If I had to wait for DH to do it we'd probably miss the window of time! Also, how's the migraine today? Hopefully better.

We have a roomba and it's great for cleaning our wood bedroom floor. It's not great for our main floor because it's a huge open space, it's better for small spaces. I'm sure it's fine on tile.

@rox825-thanks. I saw the roomba had great reviews, but its a little out of our price range. I just ordered the Infunovio (sp?) from walmart. It was ranked 8/10 on cnet, so hopefully its good. Looks like just not as many bells and whistles, but for my parent's purposes it should work.
Now I just hope my mom isn't offended we got her a vacuum cleaner for Christmas!
So... I know I should probably just use the service to reach the on call midwife, but I hate disturbing them for what is probably nothing. This past week I had stopped bleeding and switched to the yellowish discharge then to almost no discharge at 3 weeks postpartum. Late last night I noticed some light bleeding and still have some this morning. Is it possible this is from a stitch coming out/dissolving? Or that I'm having my first period already even with EBF?
I didn't think I'd be bleeding again so soon after it stopped and it's not like I was doing much of anything yesterday with Jackson's growth spurt.
So I left Beckham with my mom while my sister and I went to my aunts and then to get our nails done. I wasn't even sad I left him... I kind of felt relieved. Now I feel guilty for not feeling sad:(
@Carebella I am 6 weeks pp and still have light bleeding and have had a few stops and starts. My OB said that was normal and wasn't concerned at my appointment this week
@smboswell1 my LO has already had an overnight visit with my mom due to me being sick and my dad always takes him for a few hours once a week. I always feel relieved as I can get a nap and recharge. There is no reason to feel guilty! We all need a break every once in a while!
MIL (god bless her) treated me to a massage this afternoon. Now that IS black magic!!! I am a brand new woman. My back feels better then it has in a very very very long time and did I mention LO slept 4.5 hours last night? I'm all sorts of revitalized today.
I'd say I feel like I could run a marathon but then I'd be delusional.
@carafern & @sweetbabyrahe Thank you! Glad to know it's probably normal but talk about a cruel tease! You think you're done then, bam, bleeding again. Bleh.
I'm asking Brooke's Pediatrician for something for her reflux next week. She's miserable all day. I can hear the milk coming up in her throat and then she screams and screams. Poor baby.

Mine does this too, only at night! Is it because it's dark or they're tired? She will be starving but has the hardest time latching at night.
