  • I'm totally side eyeing the chick who started a thread asking if anyone else is having marriage troubles.  It's her very first discussion, ever, on TB and that's what she opens with?  I feel for any person in a difficult relationship, but her comments seem troll worthy (she wants to ask her therapist for a "happy pill" so she can be "numb", wtf).

There are plenty of women who are having difficult times, some of which have been open about it and we've supported them in whatever ways we can (I'm looking at you @bullybutt, you have done an amazing job with a really crappy situation), but something about that poster is just rubbing me the wrong way.
Now I want to delete my thoughtful reply, because you are right there are some troll flags there.  Some days my troll radar is on, and other days, I am so gullible, I eat it up.
I blame the late day holiday lunch and the 1-2:30 am baby screaming last night for making me too tired to detect trollishness.
  • @Danipg‌ I am so sorry- more thoughts and prayers your way
  • I chopped off all my hair! Going to aw and post a pic when I'm not mobile too!

I got something out of your reply, even if I wasn't the intended audience.

  • Random #1) sitting in my co-worker's office this morning, I rubbed the side of my neck and found a crust of snot and boogers. Thanks son

Random #2) I got new contacts 3 mo post-partum, having waited for the pregnancy hormones to settle down. Well, now I'm five months PP, and had to go back in because my contacts had gotten blurry. Turns out my contacts were too strong. Had to get new, weaker ones.
    My pregnant eyes were bad!

  • I am sick again. This is bullshit. I have taken only a handful of sick days in the last 6 years for communicable illness.

Since I had this kid, I've had strep, a horrible stomach virus causing terrible explosions and now I am getting strep again. I'm guessing he's bringin home stuff from daycare+I'm just run down. I didn't even catch a cold when I was PG.

SuperTinkerham but I giggle each time I reread this. I'm a teacher and I have never been sicker than the first year I started teaching.  :-)  I thought I was dying every month when a new yuck got passed around.

ETA- I hope you feel better soon!

DS dropped mine a few months ago.  Iphone screens are fucking worthless.  I'm going to leave it like that until it's time to upgrade.  I'm going back to Android as soon as I can.

  • I have dd at work with me and she has not been napping. Well she fell asleep while nursing and is now asleep on my nursing pillow and I don't want her to wake up. So I guess I will be bumping and not working.

Is this in the Trolling Trolling thread?
Calling ADs "happy pills" makes me ranty :(

Also, hi y'all, I'm in Europe til new year's (New Year's? Years?)!
  • Awhile ago some ladies posted about transcribing jobs. Hopefully those ladies are still on this thread. I was wondering what company you transcribe for? Thanks!

  • MIL was supposed to arrive tomorrow for a visit until the 17th when she flies to New Orleans to go on a cruise with our niece (her grand-daughter).  She'll also visit for a few days after the cruise before heading home too. Guess who came in today?  And apparently she told DH she was leaving a day early because of the snow storm hitting NY/PA, but he didn't bother to share that information with me.

At least she isn't staying with us.  One bonus for DH convincing me we didn't need a 4th bedroom.  No place for MIL to stay in our home when she comes for a visit.

My mom has had a complication from her brain surgery-she has brain swelling which is causing her to have lost movement on her right side (still has feeling, she just has to really concentrate on it to make her fingers or toes move.) I am irrationally upset that her and and my dad will most likely miss Arlo's baptism. We had to postpone the baptism so DH's brother can be there (he's godfather) and DH didn't want to do it by proxy so it basically came down to having to pick between my parents and the brother and I'm upset that my parents are the ones who can't make it. I am focusing on this so I don't dwell on worst case scenarios. Thanks for letting me vent.
    I'm so sorry :(

  • :awesome:  so cool!!
  • :yum: I'm excited about making baby food all over again. I really enjoyed making fun combos for DS 1 and I just hope DS 2 enjoys eating as much as he did

  • @stellabunny
I felt the same way last year with DD. Don't worry, it will all come together.

    We have our "Irish Twins"

    DD born 8/7/2013

    DS born 7/28/14

  • These 10-15 min power naps that DS has been doing lately need to go far far away, and never come back. :sob:

  • I don't understand people contemplating finding new a home for their dogs when they nip at their kids.  I get it if you've attempted training your dog and they are still doing it, but if it's the first time, why is that the first place you go to as a solution?  It's not like you've had a kid in your home before to know how your dog will react, so why is that the first idea on how to handle the solution?  Yes, one of my dogs has nipped at my son, but no, it has never crossed my mind to find her a new home.  We treat it like any other bad behavior and we also work with DS to be gentle around her because as we've learned she gets nervous around him not being sure what this wild little person is doing and how he may move around her.
  • Hi. Ive turned into a lurker lately. Just wanted to post something to prove Im still around...

Anyone else's LO now prefer to be by themselves on the floor? He will get fussy and I will lay him on the floor, and he rolls on his tummy, does a baby push up, and then will just sit there talking to himself. It is great because I can fold laundry or sort mail or whatever, but I'm so not ready for 6 month old independence.

I wish! When I put dd on the floor she starts to cry. So much for 'you can't spoil a baby this young' lol.

She is also currently sleeping halfway on her stomach and on her face. I don't want to move her but I don't think I will sleep well knowing the position she is in.

  • Too much to read on the newbie/lurker question thing on Parenting so I totally scrolled through and only read other j14'er answers.
  • My husband washed a load of our clothes with a blank ink pen in his jeans pocket.

I guess this is when I'm grateful my SAHM wardrobe consists of Target jeans and sweats but RIP to my most comfy hoodie. :(
  • @babybell22
Usually I am very team-don't-rehome but if it comes to  a place where you feel your babies are not safe or the mental well being of your pet is at stake, I can't judge anyone for that.

Baby boy "F" was born on 7/11/14!!

Hairspray or shaving cream get ink out.
Will it still work if everything went through the dryer?

I get that point of view as well. However my dog has already bit my 4 year old nephew and yes we have worked with him on how to be more gentle and to leave the dog alone. However I can't teach a five month old not to grab. We have been working with our dog extensively and there has been no improvement. The only way to fix it is to prohibit the dog from doing everything he loves to do. That is no way for him to live. It is only a matter of time until he bites her so if I wait until then I will feel terrible for both dog and baby. I'm trying to find him a new home so he doesn't have to be an anxious mess around LO. I want him to be happy which he just isn't until LO goes to bed. Again I understand where you are coming from and I wish I could modify the behavior but for the last two years we have not been able to. This hasn't been a rash or flippant decision.
I definitely get the thought process and finding a new home for your dog with the additional info and fact that you've had negative experiences with your dog and kids.  That has to be a hard decision after trying to correct it.

Yours isn't the first (and certainly not the last) from someone finding a new home for their dog after it tried to nip at their kid, so while my comment was brought on by your initial one, it was by no means the only reason I posted my thoughts on it.
  • Thanks @LolaSimonLove! I will have to try it. Or else DH will just have to pony up the cash for me to replace some clothes. ;)
  • @bullybutt  So exciting.  Fingers crossed the offer gets accepted!

For the DCP, would she enjoy a massage/manicure/pedicure (not necessarily all three)?  Something to treat her with?

That's what I'm thinking.  She is always doing her nails while the kids play.  Maybe that and a gift card to a local restaurant.  That would be lazy easy for me.
