DH took the day off from his regular job to work at his freelance job. He has assured me he'll be home early afternoon to spend time with us/help out. We'll see.
Small successes: he no longer nurses to sleep, and we now wait until 12ish for his first MOTN feeding.
But he screams his head off between bedtime and that first feeding, and then again after he eats. We're really at our wits' end. We're exhausted, irritated, and very quickly losing patience.
I wish I had some words of advice for you. But all I can offer is (((hugs)))
So I mentioned in the random thread last week that the afternoon dc teacher said she was concerned about A's headbanging and it seemed to be getting worse. So I spent all weekend anxious about it. I mentioned to the head teacher this morning that I thought it was due to teething since he didn't do it over the weekend and I had given him Tylenol. She told me that she didn't even notice him doing it last week. Seems odd that one teacher brought it up to me and the other didn't even see it.
Good morning ladies. I have a sinus infection but it got really bad over the weekend. My doctor's office is open already, but they don't start answering the phone until 9 ~X( I just want to get an appointment and some antibiotics already so I can start feeling better! I've been sick for a month already!
What I was afraid of happening has happened...I'm at work today, but not scheduled to work tomorrow, Wednesday, or Thursday. The census dropped and therefore they need less staff, and because I'm the newest I'm cut first.
I keep telling myself this is temporary. My boss assured me the census will go back up...and I know they like me, so I just have to remain positive and hopeful. But we neeeeeed the money. I hate not having a definite schedule and income! Definitely the biggest downside to my job.
But this made me happy this morning...my stylish little babboo!
I'm sorry, @codypup. Census ALWAYS goes down right before the holidays in any kind of residential setting... but it'll bounce back up right after, unfortunately!

I am going to LOSE.MY.SHIT. about our parking situation here at work. We share a lot with a few other businesses, including a restaurant. The restaurant is being super douchey about where we park, to the point where they now have a security guard/cop out there in the mornings to tell us if we're in "their" spaces. Except once the restaurant opens, no one from there gives a shit if their customers park in OUR spaces. I have to leave my office multiple times a day generally, so it annoys the crap out of me that we're being policed but I can never find a place to put my car when I get back from being offsite.
I'm irrationally annoyed because it's actually a good restaurant but I feel like I can't patronize a business that can't share an effing parking lot nicely.

I'm in the mall parking lot where LO is finally sleeping. My "play date" is at 11, so I figure he can sleep 5 more minutes. I tried to put him down at home drowsy but awake....hahahahaha. Cue 40 mins of crib playtime. I'll be rocking for pm nap so we actually nap. (Some yell at me for inconsistency. I know. We need to be consistent...but I also need my child to sleep.)
@codypup those boots! So cute. I hope you get more hours. Will you ever have a definitive schedule there?
And no, he didn't really do it at home at all this weekend. At least, not that I noticed. I think it has to do with teething. We gave him infant tylenol a few times. He's unmedicated at daycare.
@Penguin173 We haven't done Santa yet either (though we do have a tree). I'm starting to get anxiety over all the things I need to do, and that's one of them.
@penguin173 we haven't done a christmas tree either. We've actually never had one because I'm Jewish and DH didn't seem to care one way or another but now we want one for LO. But we've been lazy about it.
@armfruit hope everyone feels better soon. The family sickness is not fun.
@Penguin173 We haven't done Santa pics yet either. If you lived by me I'd help you out with your tree. I went a little nuts at Target's Christmas clearance the first year we had a tree. I have a huge ornament tote filled that I haven't touched the past couple of years but hey they were 70% off...
I just realized that I haven't received the Carter's order I placed on Black Friday. Tracked it and it says it's delayed, I call UPS the guy says something isn't right with it, it hasn't been scanned since the 4th and transfers me to a different department that researches problem shipments. I give her my tracking number and she instantly says it will be delivered tomorrow. How can one person have no idea and the other be so definitive?
I'm sorry, @codypup. Census ALWAYS goes down right before the holidays in any kind of residential setting... but it'll bounce back up right after, unfortunately!
PROMISE?! ;-)
@djtippietoes, if I ever get hired full time I think I'll have a more definitive schedule. My boss had a meeting with the CEO last week in which the CEO said to count on spots filling up...and I know they just launched a big huge new marketing campaign in an effort to expand. I just need to be patient and have faith. And I'm terribly impatient, so it's a challenge for me.
Plus, starting Monday my H is off (and unpaid) for 3 weeks when the college kids go home for break. I hate money stress. It's the pits. @tyrannosauslex, how'd that lotto ticket do? Care to share your winnings? Hehe.
squirm said:@Codypup +1 to census filling up after the holidays. When I worked inpatient, everyone was getting cut even full timers as the holidays approached. After new years, they'll be begging you to work overtime. Also +1 to your cute daughter! I love that sweater dress and boots!
Thanks @squirm. I'm choosing to believe you guys for the sake of my sanity. I also talked to my mom, who instructed me to open my Christmas stocking when I get home tonight.....I'm thinking there might be some $$ wrapped up in ribbons!
So I got LO and myself washed, dressed, and ready to walk out the door....but MH has our only car seat ~X( It's not his fault but it's so frustrating how often this happens! I hate being caged.
We have this problem with a set of car keys. We only have one key fob for our Subaru. Oh, I should also explain that we have 2 cars, but neither one is mine or hers. We switch off. But it's happened more than once that one of us has taken the other car and accidentally had the Subaru key with us. Oops.
This is interesting @Mamosey Is there a reason you each don't just stick with one car?
@mosaicmoscato I do graham cracker gingerbread houses with my class every year. We use white cake frosting instead of making icing. World Market has had theirs for $5 as a deal of the day type thing the past two years but i don't know when/if that will happen this year.
@KatyBriggs I am familiar with that batting stuff. I was kinda thinking you'd be seeing glitter in A's first day of school pics....
I just got home from my mall play date. We walked three miles around the mall -- and then had Mexican food. LO fell asleep on the way home (of course), but I think I got him transferred to his crib!!! DH is on his way home, so I'm curling up with my book to enjoy the peace!
@broccolisgirl that's the plan for this afternoon! Hopefully they both take a good nap, and then it's whatever gets us through to bedtime (which will of course be our favorite!)
Got antibiotics and one kid down for nap, one to go.
LO has decided biting is funny. Not just the nips during feeding time, but he'll put his head down on my leg, and then bite. This is really starting to drive me nuts. It's like I'm getting nervous to feed or cuddle him.
Tell me it's just a phase. It's the second time I've considered giving up BF, but I want to wait until we're back home in April, at least.
@Penguin173 I second what @DisneyPeanut said... Go with bare minimum-stock up on Dec 26. That's how I get all my wrapping paper, tags, and ribbons, usually 50% or more off. The earlier you go after Christmas, the bigger selection you will have, but if you wait a few days, the discount gets bigger--but less of a selection. I still usually can find okay stuff a few days after.

I'm working Wednesday!! And possibly Thursday, definitely Friday. And my boss let me know she will need me for SURE a lot during the week of New Year's. Phew!
In other (sad) news, I just picked W up from daycare and she wasn't wearing her stylish new boots. Apparently they get in the way of her walking so her teacher took them off. SAD.
I agree when @armfruit. My family never had a lot for Christmas, especially as we got older, but I still loved christmas for all the tradition. We got small gifts, and I loved them!
Re: Monday Randoms
@CiaoMama I've resorted to cardboard a few times. Until I couldn't find part of the tissue box.
@squirm You definitely won't break LO if you try again. She won't remember any of this.
@Mamosey You guys haven't made any progress?
@mosaicmoscato I agree with letting him see you play with it. He'll probably come around again.
Does he eventually sleep after crying?
LO and I have a play date today. At the mall. Lol. I'm dressing him up. #lame

We had such a busy weekend, I'm actually glad it's Monday and lo and I can relax at home! I hope there are some good Christmas movies on tv

She always naps for 30 minutes...always has. She'll randomly do 45-60 on the rare occasion.
It's now been over 2 hours...what is going on! I don't even know what to do with myself.
