Okay, I admit it, this one is way happy-fun-sunshine-kumbaya, but it was on my mind while I was driving to work this morning.
We're all entering the last stretch (heh) of our pregnancies and dealing with those oh-so-fun symptoms that come along with it. When we need to escape, either physically or mentally, where do we go? Where is our happy place?
Mine is either a theater (where I currently am, so mission accomplished, I guess!) or a bookstore. Although my "mental happy place" is totally Hogwarts. Judge away, I am an unapologetic nerd :-)
Re: Positivity Post: Your happy place?
My real life happy place is in my tub, surrounded by bubbles and candles with some good music on! (pre pregnancy add a good glass of wine... now it's a sparkling cranberry juice)
My fantasy happy place is some resemblance of Willy Wonka's factory in the room with the chocolate waterfall and everything made of candy.
Okay, scratch that. I want to go to your fantasy happy place instead. Or maybe we can combine both and make it a super-epic fantastic road trip.
If Harry Potter met Willy Wonka the world would explode because there could not be anything nearly as awesome.
On the beach with a book...
In a pretty bed and breakfast, with a bathtub and a fire...
Reading magazines at a bookstore with girlfriends...
Ooo, good one. I'm all for happy-fun-sunshine-kumbaya
My happy place is either a looong walk with my dog in a beautiful place, or any coffee shop with a chai latte.
Mentally - NARNIA!
Oooh...chai latte...pregnancy craving ACTIVATED.
My positive happy place reality: Sitting on the couch with my feet on my husband, him rubbing them and watching a funny movie and making fun of it together.
We do that every night and I love it
My Fantasy happy place: Just the DH and I in some warm sunny tropical place, no one can contact us, no worries, just enjoying ourselves and completely relaxing!
My happy place right now is looking at my Christmas tree and thinking about baby's first Christmas next year. Normally I pop in a favorite movie or watch Sex and the City.
When I need to escape mentally, I plan a trip to Disney in my head. It's my happy place. I especially love thinking about taking baby to Disney for the first time.
Pre Pregnancy- Leaving DS with DH and going to the book store by myself.
During Pregnancy- Curling up in my recliner eating ice cream.
Real - My bed with my iPad, doing crossword puzzles, my puppy across my feet, and my husband doing the laundry.
Fantasy - Sitting in a chair next to my almost naked husband with my toes in water that doesn't belong to the United States.
Oh this sounds great....but with frozen margaritas!
This is totally lame, but laying on my couch in sweat pants eating some carb loaded (preferrably with cheese also) meal watching football. But it has to be on a good Sunday when there are about four games on cable so I can switch back and forth.
Oh and my house has to be clean too... But I didn't have to clean it.
Georgia 3/15/2012 Matilda 6/12/2014 TWINS!! Babies 3&4 EDD 11/22/2016
Mmmm...I fully intend to have a frozen margarita the moment I'm able to!
For realsies: Curled up in bed with my dog snuggling me reading a great book, hot drink at the ready.
Winter Fantasy: Whistler - before the Olympics came, or a Christmas market in Germany drinking Gluhwein.
Summer Fantasy: Lake Chelan. HOT, beautiful lake to jump into, boats, water slides, food, beer, BBQs and no sense of time whatsoever. I can't wait to take baby there for summer vacations.
LMAO - I need a bit of "happy-fun-sunshine-kumbaya" today. Its an ugly day outside and the idea of turning on the shower to hide my sobbing is WAY too appealing....
My most easily accessible happy place is being lost in a good book.
My mental happy place is Oahu. LOL we were able to go there last January (can't believe its been a year!!) and it was just so beautiful, fun and relaxing, I close my eyes and pretend I'm at the "pond" - it was a little kiddie beach perfect for the girls to play in the water.
How about both???
MrsMicnks, this may be your best one yet! Or maybe I just really needed this today...
IRL: Curled up on the couch with DH watching our favorite shows in a CLEAN house...where I didn't have to do any of the work
Mentally: (and sometimes physically) Our favorite beach in Laugna...
I want to go to there :-)
First, I love you for saying Hogwarts!!!
My happy place is anywhere with Lily Potter. No matter how awful I feel, she can make me feel better. She just knows when I'm sad and turns into the biggest sweetheart ever. Lily cuddles are my rainbows and kittens.
We're considering an English Bulldog for our next dog (a puppy even). Is yours pretty typical for the breed in terms of temperament? All the ones I've met at the dog park are awesome. How was potty training and basic command training?
Sorry for the mini-hijack!
