@subliminalrabbit & @numbersgirl08 I'm sorry to hear you guys are still under the weather. I hope you, and anyone else who's sick, is on the mend and feeling better soon!
So are the Duplos kind of the next step up from MegaBloks then @subliminalrabbit ? I'll confess I haven't see Duplo in person recently (we did have it as kids though) so I don't really know for sure. I sort of assumed they were all pretty much the same, but just that Duplo had the Lego quality backing it.
I have a really stupid question. When you say you make meals for the freezer, does that mean you prepare them in some sort of pan and then freeze them? Or cook them as directed and then freeze them? I feel stupid saying that, but I want to make some frozen meals over Christmas break for my maternity leave too.
@babygsmommy - I went Christmas shopping with my h last night and had the complete opposite experience. H wanted to get B EVERYTHING! Remote control helicopter? Sure! Play doh? Why not! Light saber? What could possibly go wrong? I have never had to say no so much in my life. It is going to be so much worse when B is older and I can't use the excuse that B isn't old enough for that stuff.

I always fully cooked things and then froze them so all I had to do was warm them. I also froze things in smaller portions (like 2 pieces of lasagna instead of the whole pan together) so that we had just enough. One of the things I found the most helpful was to cook a bunch of ground beef with onion and garlic and then a bunch of plain shredded chicken and freeze those. It made it really easy to quickly make a variety of meals that actually contained protein.
@hellooldfriend - you can do it both ways but I prefer to freeze things that are fully cooked. Casseroles, soups and chili are what I freeze most. I freeze them in individual servings (two servings at most) in quart size freezer bags and then when I am ready to eat them I take them out of the freezer and put them in the refrigerator the night before or the morning of to thaw for dinner that evening.
