I just went and got my regular service for my car. I'm pretty sure it only came with a two year free maintenance package (and it's been 2.5 now), but they didn't charge me. I wanted to ask what the real deal was, but I was too worried they'd somehow then decide they needed to charge me, so I just rolled with it.
At least the next maintenance interval is super cheap relative to what this one would have been, so I don't mind paying for it.
Oh, and none of the other kids at LO's school have/had HFM. So I have no earthly idea where he got it from. Maybe from the grocery store's cart? He looks 70% better in terms of his red spots this morning, but since the ladies at his school hadn't seen him at all, they think he looks absolutely a mess. Poor dude.
Last weekend DH ran full strength into a wall while playing squash and banged up his knees and elbow really bad. Then he got DD's cold/cough and has been sick for 5 days. Now it looks like he has pink eye. I'm really hoping I don't get it and thank G-d so far DD looks clear. Poor guy can't catch a break.
@42butterflies My mom had that car and I hated the automatic deciding how to run the temp thing. There is a little up down buttons that you can use to change which "zone" is on. On her car I think it was the to the right of the little display, it looks like a sitting man with up arrow and down arrows, beside the +/- for the passenger temp control.
Got a text from the babysitter at 10:30 that Nora successfully drank 2 ounces from a bottle- YAY!.
And then a follow up text at 10:32 - she threw up everywhere. It was described as "Pouring out". She says she is acting fine now... but I do not feel good about my first day back at work..
please tell me that you just forgot to plug it in, not that your canadian bought car did not come with a block heater.... You guys need block heaters in Ontario too don't you?
@42Butterflies I don't have an Acadia, but we do drive all GM vehicles. I think @momofcatan explained it best where you'll find the controls. When you say top vents do you mean the ones that blow on your upper body or the ones on the dash meant to defrost the windshield? My truck has all kinds of weird controls (I still can't adjust temperature while driving because I get too distracted) but there is still a front and rear defrost button.
@subliminalrabbit M self-weaned in the middle of September. It was really hard on me, but didn't phase her at all. Once I got past the surge of hormonal imbalance it was really good for us. It's hard in the moment, but I really believe that the kids know what they need in cases like this. If E isn't asking to nurse it means he's growing up and ready to take the next step (scary I know, but fun too!).
@megaroo64 N was always a big spitter upper. It often looked like a ton, but everything I read and drs told me, is that it's a lot less than it looks. If she took down 2 oz, she probably got it down a little too fast, and some came back up. I'd put money that what she spit up wasn't nearly all of it! And trust me, N multiple times a day spit up what seemed to be an enormous amount, but it was always fine and she kept growing!
Give it time, and she will hopefully get used to the bottle and hopefully will spit up less!

I remember when I was little my dad would plug in his car at night, but he doesn't do it anymore and no one I know does. I think he only did it so that the heat would come on right away, not because he was worried the car wouldn't start. I don't really know how these things work.
@daffy2k I bought all the stuff to make the Baileys!!
I'm so jealous of everyone drinking it. I'm told its delicious, but I don't even want to try a little sip because then I know I'll want it even more... I'll just have to wait until next season.
@momofcatan what I've learned is that it's just really hard on the vehicle to start it in the cold weather. The block heater keeps the important stuff from getting too cold and therefore causes less long term damage (according to my dad and H). Also, if you use regular engine oil it gets really thick at cold temperatures and makes it more difficult to start. We always use synthetic oil mostly for this reason. It doesn't thicken up like regular oil making it easier to circulate through the engine at cold temps. Friday night my H played men's league hockey and stayed out with the boys. His truck stayed in town, not plugged in, and the temperature dropped to -35 C overnight. When he picked it up the next day he said it was a pretty hard start and had he used regular oil during his last oil change it wouldn't have started at all.
Today is one of those days I want to sell 3/4 of everything I own and quit my job and see what happens. My grandma really needs to go into assisted living and our HVAC unit is broken and being replaced. I lost my dietbet because of my hangover and sometimes I look at my husband and wonder if we'll stay together forever and basically I just want to cry and eat.
Hugs to everyone else in a glass case of emotion today.
@megsw85 block heaters are a must in AB. I don't think they are expensive either (it's an extra $100 when you build and price a vehicle online) so you might be able to get one added pretty inexpensively.
I was so encouraged when I got my PP period back ~2 weeks after some serious fertile O-ish signs. I was all hopefully this meant my body had regulated its weird hormonal PCOSiness and was going to give me some regular cycles.
I had some more fertile signs (EWCM, nipple tenderness) a week and a half ago, but no sign of a temperature shift. Now I'm on stupid CD34 with no idea what's going on *kicks rocks*.
I know a lot of ladies have had to deal with the RE, and I'd pursued that route right up to getting my clomid script when we got a lucky break and got pregnant, and I was so hoping we'd get lucky again. Cooperate stupid body! You have 3 months to get your act together!
Madeline just followed me into the bathroom, pulled some toilet paper off the roll and tried to wipe my butt while I was peeing... I'm really not sure what to think.
Thanks guys, it made me feel better just to vent. @babygsmommy I'll be seeing her later tonight or tomorrow, my dad is driving up to assess the situation. She fights any help tooth and nail so I'm hoping this goes well.
Hi everyone, I've missed everything. I didn't read last week's spam thread at all so hugs, congratulations, condolences, and whatever other sentiment I should have sent.
@lioness13, @mcbush@numbersgirl08 and @stargazer763 - thanks for the support. I know that Nora will get the hang of eating from a bottle eventually - it is just frustrating to know she is struggling and to not be able to really help right now.
And @mcbush - tell me more about this paced feeding? I had no issues with B whatsoever, so now I feel like a big ol dummy with N.
The sitter tried to feed her again around noon- no crazy spit up this time, but she didn't really eat either. I think I am going to pick up a starving child. The sitter is super patient though. I called her at lunch and she was like "Don't worry - we will just keep working at it."
The soda stream I ordered through groupon came today. I'm so glad Alex wasn't home when it got here because it said on the side of the box what it was. That was a close call!
Wow, there might be a callout for that one. "Shameless" is right.
I just posted a comment. I couldn't take it.
Who is that gal? Like @mcbush said, does she post here? I've been way over the fb group for awhile...there's one girl who really posts like she's the "leader" of discussions over there, and I'm pretty sure she's not over here.
I left the facebook group awhile ago. I started realizing it wasn't the same people who I know and post here, and then realized I didn't want everyone I don't know at all to know my name and everything. So I left.
I've been curious how much crossover is left. How many people that post there regularly also post here regularly?
N's Christmas presents are all bought thanks to Cyber Monday sales! And the play kitchen I was wanting went down to the lowest I've seen in awhile just a few minutes ago so I bought it!
I know there were some posts last week about having problems "liking" your child (but obviously always loving them) and I didn't have a chance to type this out then.
I wanted to say I've been there, and for the moment am on the other side of it. I know how tough it can be, the whole "baby" stage of 4-12 months was awful for me and DD. Every day I was questioning if I was going to survive being a mother. I made it through, and DD is a great toddler (you know, for a toddler). I just wanted to say to all the moms out there having a tough time, you can do it! It all comes in waves and stages and you will get through this one and see the light at the other end.
That post looks just like a bunch of beachbody posts I see on facebook all the time. I have a few friends that are coaches and are always posting things like that. It's annoying and frustrates me even more because I don't dislike the concept of having fitness groups encouraging each other when going through the programs and I like the beachbody programs. I just wish it wasn't done so obnoxiously.
Well all my blood work came back fine. They said I'm at an increased risk for kidney stones so I need to drink more water and cut back on salt. And the pregnancy test they did came back negative. But still no reason as to why I've been so nauseous, dizzy, and have headaches
I have zero friends that are selling Beach body on FB and I had never heard of it until you guys started posting about how annoying the posts are.
But Isagenix and Lev-el are quite popular in my feed. It's all very annoying.
And don't get me started on Jamberry.
Oh Isagenix...my ex's mom and sister were on that bandwagon a few years ago. They are now on the Plexus bandwagon and trying to get me to get on with them 8-|
Prayers for all of the moms and babies who need them!
I hate beachbody "coaches". It's a total pyramid scheme. My facebook is loaded with sellers. I had to block them on my facbeook feed as I was getting tired of seeing their posts. Some of these coaches were skinny skinny to begin with and then they post before pictures of themselves looking as skinny as they do now and they say how much they have losts and how they feel wonderful. I always want to tell them to get back to reality because they were skinny then and skinny now. Then others are really overweight and are saying how they want to coach others to get healthy.... Ummmmm, why would I want to take diet and exercise advice from somebody who is extremely obsese (I'm overweight myself so I'm not putting down overwight people).

Sometimes I hate when results come back fine. You don't want anything to be seriously wrong, but you just want answers! I hope they figure it out!
Thanks...I am just so over this. I've been randomly crying because of how crappy I feel. I have an appointment Wednesday but I'm going to see if she can see me tomorrow. And now my hip is throbbing on the side they gave me the shots in. I give up.

Wanted to drop in really quick though to say OMG!!!! I'm going to have another baby THIS month! Eeeeeek!
