@smpeachy I've been nesting all week! Last weekend and into the week I rearranged Rians room, Jameson's room, and my front room. While rearranging I wiped baseboards and washed windows, the whole 9 yards.
ETA: as ready as I am to meet this little guy I really really really need him to stay put until after Rians competition next Sunday afternoon. Once we get through that he can come whenever he wants!
I never nested as well. I had the urge for a clean house, but no desire to do it myself, so we hired cleaners the week of my due date and I sat on my fat butt eating ice cream while they cleaned.
I never really nested with DD, but I am already feeling all nesty now. I just keep finding things to deep clean. Today I was on such a roll (M was at my mom's so I thought I'd really get at it), but my sciatica kept acting up and slowing me down. I didn't accomplish nearly as much as I'd hoped to being kid-free.
@NaChelleBeck been there. My DH doesn't think at all about the circumstances when he starts complaining about my level of affection towards him. The last time my response was honestly, "sorry that you haven't been the centre of attention lately babe. Maybe if you feed, bathe, clothe and snuggle the sick baby and keep up with the housework and laundry I'll be able to focus all my energy on you again." That shut him up real quick and he hasn't bitched since.
We had a great day planned. Cookie exchange this morning, MH was gonna study all afternoon while N and I hung out and maybe gone to see Christmas lights, then babysitter was coming at 5:30 so we could get a pre dinner drink, go out for pizza, then meet up with friends at the alumni event to watch GT beat FSU. Then come home and exchange presents. That was the plan.
What happened: I woke up sick, managed to go to the cookie exchange that hardly anyone disappointingly showed up to, didn't stay long, collapsed as soon as I got home and stayed in bed since. MH watched N a good so I could rest so he didn't get much studying done. The times I did watch N she wasn't in a good mood and even bit me (although she thought she was biting the pillow cover). Cancelled the babysitter so MH fed N leftovers and ordered takeout for himself. I ate nothing all day lon until I started eating some saltines and drinking sprite tonight since I felt really weak. Watched the game in bed and Tech lost .
However, MH was such a huge help even though his day was ruined as well. And we still exchanged (most) of our presents. I loved what he got me! And I still have 2 more coming for later
All in all, not how I wanted to have a day. But grateful for great family to make the best of it with.
Speaking of sock shopping, has anyone found any slightly thicker/warmer toddler socks that they like? We don't need super warm smart wool, but I feel like his toes are getting cold in his thin cotton socks.
@subliminalrabbit Much better! I think today will be more normal. I have a lot to do to make up for yesterday since the house is a gigantic mess (MH was great in helping watch N but somehow can't keep the house not looking like a toddler tornado went through and says he can't pick things up while watching her). So I'm hoping I can be productive today too.
My mom and I shopped all day yesterday. It wore me out! I was asleep by 9 and slept until G woke me up at 7:30. But I managed to get a lot of stuff for work!!!!
SH just told me I wasn't any fun anymore bc I wasn't amused by his stupid (to him funny) comments and him taking his sweet ass time to get in the shower so we aren't late for pictures. Thanks Asshole for starting the day like this....uuggghhh! Now I can't wait to finish pictures, drop him back off at home and go somewhere with A.
Last night I had a really good time with my friend. She is the one who's wedding I was in three months ago. She brought her honeymoon photos of their trip to South Africa. It was awesome! She even introduced me to a red wine that I actually like. It's by brand named Cupcake and it's called Red Velvet.
Yesterday I cooked two baked spaghetti casserole's. One for me and one for a friend/sorority sister who just had surgery. KJ and I are about to leave to visit with her and bring her the casserole.

Are you guys not sleeping well? My husband says the same about me when our sleep is bad, I apparently need 8 solid in order to find him funny.
He's not getting good sleep but that's bc his snoring is bad. And snoring is bad bc he's gained a lot of weight and won't do anything about it. He's just being an ass today period.
I wrote Holiday Sprinkles and cookie decorations on the grocery list for DH. He came home with blue and white icing and sprinkles. Silly Jews. He said they were all out of red and green and it wasn't his fault that "the Christians are sparkle hogs." I found the term sparkle hogs hilarious.
@mcbush my EDD is the 16th. My sisters dr told her if she doesn't have her baby by the 14th she will be induced on the 15th. I def have a chance to beat her to the finish line. The satisfaction I will have if that happens will be amazing lol.
@subliminalrabbit Glad you're starting to feel better! I got up with N and cleaned up the mess that was the kitchen, picked up boxes, got recycling all together and ready to go out, started laundery, went throught the mail piled up on our table, gave N a bath, and now she's down for a nap and I'm going back to sleep myself. Maybe I overdid it. But I was just so happy to not be feeling nauseous. And wanted to show MH how you can watch a toddler and still keep some semblance of order and cleanliness.
Time to make the hanaukka cookies. This is a new thing for me as I am generally a Christian sparkle hog. I'm also a terrible shiksa because everytime MIL brings over matzoball soup I panic and think I missed a high holiday. Even though DH isn't a practicing Jew, you'd think after 15 years of knowing his family I'd have my important holidays down.
I have leftover teriyaki sauce and duck sauce. If I do stir fry tonight can I just throw them both in together? Would that taste weird? I just kind of want to get rid of them both.
Sorry @megsw85. That sounds pretty awful. Glad you can at least see the light at the end of the tunnel. And don't call your parents. They are evil. LOL
@subliminalrabbit I had a little bit of dry cereal for bfast, 1/4 of a sunbutter sandwich for lunch, and saltines with a small amount of chicken noodle soup for dinner. And a sprite today. Not much but I felt like I was getting some calories in my body at least.
I had been hoping to lose a few lbs before leaving for Christmas but I definitely didn't want this kind of crash diet!!!
I've missed all the words today. The weather was amazing here, about -1 C, so we invited some friends and their LOs out to toboggan on our hill and have a fire. We roasted smokies and hot dogs, did a ton of runs down our baby hill with the little kids and a couple of the adults even attempted our giant hill on the super fast wooden toboggan. Hilarious wipeouts for some, and we all got a good workout hiking back up that hill. I made a crockpot of hot chocolate and a crockpot of hot cranberry spiced punch. Plugged them in on the deck and put out some homemade baileys for the hot chocolate and spiced whiskey for the punch. The whole day was a huge success! I can't wait to do it again the next warm weekend we get.
@daffy2k - when I first read that -1 I thought you were talking about Fahrenheit! I was thinking "what the hell are you doing playing outside when it's that cold!
@hellooldfriend you will do great! Tomorrow is going to be a good day!
We survived!!! The whole ordeal was less than an hour. On and off crying, I really hope he sleeps through the night, I want to just do this torture once a night.
@riansmommie and anyone else who wants to come, you guys are welcome any time! It was really so much fun. The weather was perfect, I just wore boots and snowpants, but no coat because it was too warm. We got so much snow last week so it made for great sledding. And it was such a low key way of entertaining, so no stress getting things ready and hardly any clean up. @musicalsilver I'll post both recipes in the recipe thread. Both were delicious and easy and I plan to have them simmering in the crockpot often over the holidays.
What was actually discussed today as people were tackling the big hill was how much fun it would be to play out there without little kids. Our plan is next year (when no one's pregnant) we are going to have a sleepover out here. The kids can play during the day, but after they go to bed we will spike the shit out of our cider and sled the hill by the light of the moon.
This weekend was the last weekend where there will only be 3 people in my house. Saturday my MIL arrives and Sunday my FIL and stepMIL arrive. It was such a bittersweet weekend. Did some nesting today but for the most part just hung out enjoying the weekend with just my kiddos. After Jameson went to bed Rian even help me make Brantleys no sew blanket . She is super excited to have another lil brother (we will see if she is still singing the same time when he actually arrives though).
Its hard to pack for both N and me for almost 3 weeks of travel. I'm spending forever just making lists - stuff coming with us on the airplane this week, stuff MH needs to bring when he comes down later, all the presents we have here that need to get there, trying to make my outfits as efficient as possible. I know I can do laundry while we're gone but that isn't really making it easier.
We're gonna be splitting time between my sister's, my parents', and my ILs' houses. It's gonna be a crazy December!!!
@riansmommie & @kames12 the nearest international airport is a couple hours east of here, in Edmonton. We've got a great spot, and lots of space for company, but I cannot guarantee nice days like we had today all winter. We do keep the fires burning (inside and out) so there's always someplace to warm up. Today when we were all crashed on the couches watching football still in our snowpants it sort of felt like being in the chalet après ski. It was great! I'm totally down for a giant bump meet up at my place! @megsw85 isn't too far away either, but the rest of y'all would have to fly in.
