@jlbaker08‌ I never said anything about my bump I don't have a bump and I will be 11 weeks on tuesday my problem is the rude and ignorance Yes maybe the first few comments weren't rude but the when you get into calling people names and trashing people for stating an opinion which is what everything that's has been said is because No one here that has been commenting is a doctor. On both sides through fighting is ridiculous and uncalled for your supposed to be adults that are getting ready for motherhood not acting like your in high school and I know what it is like to have a miscarriage I have been there and went through hell but I also go my information even information that the hospital I was dealing with didn't tell me when they more then once told me that my baby was fine even tho it had stopped growing three week before that kept sending me home saying I was fine over 900 dollars later and three visits to the er I lost my baby. I turned to an amazing book called what to expect when you are expecting it will give you way better input and support then any of these threads. Now I'm expecting again and so far everything is going great so don't judge and grow up maybe.

For christ sake some of you are absolutely pathetic. The poor girl asked a question..maybe she's clueless (LIKE THE MAJORITY OF US), maybe she's not familiar with how to use the threads, maybe she just doesn't care to look for another common thread. Who cares? If you don't like her question, don't open it..let alone take the time to comment on it to purely make her feel like shit. Do you really not have anything better to fucking do with your lives than put others down? If so, I truly feel sorry for you. @barishore‌ props to you for asking a question in a supposedly welcoming community. Laughable.

But do you feel sorry for our husbands?

Sorry for all the bad answers on here. To answer the original question. Yes. I'm almost 10 weeks and showing quite well. I used to have a flat fit stomach because I am a runner. So if your showing... no worries its normal! Maybe twins or one big baby! Good luck with your pregnancy! Don't read all of the negative comments....its not good for your baby or you!

10 weeks and starting to show as well. Midwife said my uterus is already well on its way out of the pelvic area. Normal for a third pregnancy too.

Am gonna be 9 weeks and am showing they say the second one shows faster but I think it has a lot to do once we eat and we bloatiness I think it's nothing to worrie about

Hi barishore, so sorry for all the negative responses you received. For first time moms or even never experiencing a bump like that with any prior pregnancies it's a really good question. Every woman's body is different and many factors go in to if you are showing or not. If it's your first it is most likely bloat from your uterus expanding, some days I look like I'm 4 months pregnant other days flat stomach as if I wasn't. Eating salt or being "backed up" can do that to you as well. I'm 8 weeks so far and definitely have my days were I feel like I giant hippo :) keep a dairy and log what foods you eat and when it's worse or try taking fiber! You should start showing for real in 2-3 weeks! Good luck!! :) and don't get down by the negativity and rudeness of others. Congrats!!

@amc2511 honestly I was just reading through my bullets for week 10 and this was the first post of the July posts I don't use this site for the threads because of women like you. Like I've said before nothing but a bunch of immature high school drama type people all of you It's sad that you all trash someone for asking a simple question you guys call it telling them the truth but there are better ways of going at it then being rude just by the way you word your responses or bitch because more then one person asks the same question It's not like It's the same person asking the same question over and over again. If you are getting tired of answering the same questions then simply don't respond to the thread. It's really that easy you guys act like you run this site but really non of you have any more say then another seeing we are all here as moms to be.

Dude. Nobody is saying it's stupid for a first time mom to "wonder" these things.  It's totally legit and I did the same when I was a first time mom.  What we are saying is READ THE POSTS at the top of the page and STOP CLOGGING UP this first page with post after post of the same crap (like "am I showing" for example.. there was a time where there were FIVE posts at a time on the first page alone).  When people clog up the first page, people who have legitimate questions and need legitimate help cannot get it because these stupid redundant threads are taking over instead.

I definitely agree with this, but the more people comment, the longer it's going to stay on the first page. No this thread shouldn't have been started in the first place, yes she should have read the PSA, just wish everyone would stop arguing over why or why not it should have been posted and let it fall down the pages so more serious threads will get the attention they need.

Meh, the embryo/fetus is pretty darn small but the bloat everyone is talking about is quite directly related your gigantically growing uterus clogging up your whole tummy area. Normally golf-ball sized now closer to a grapefruit size.  That's a big difference!  So I think most bloaty women, who are bloated due to their pregnancy are "showing." It's really semantics and not worth so much fuss. Every woman's body is different, but I'd think showing early is quite possible, especially if you are slim with weak abdominal muscles.

Like most things in life, when people act super know-it-all-y and confident in their assertions, they are usually at least a little bit wrong.

my uterus isn't grapefruit sized, I can't feel it when I lay down and press on my stomach so it's still hiding.  my bloat is being caused by 1) an increase in progesterone that relaxes the smooth muscle in my body (digestive system) and slows everything down (that's why we're all constipated) and 2) the increase in blood volume/water retention.

According to the book my doctor gave me, it said you might start to see your tummy grow at 10 weeks, but it will only be noticeable to you and your SO. By approx 5 months, you should be showing to the rest of the world. Of course everyone is different.

Lol. Jbaker08 not everyone is constipated. I'm not. Haven't been at all this pregnancy. Wasn't last pregnancy. Everyone is different. Hence there is a thread with everyone talking about different symptoms.... Also I find these threads hilarious because every woman's body is different. Being tall vs short can change when you show. Being on 1st or 3rd pregnancy can change when you show. Your definition of "show" may not be what the other person is talking about. Maybe only you can tell you're showing or your spouse. But that doesn't change whether you are or not. Dr or midwife is who can tell you where your uterus is not some internet diagram lol. If you have a check up and your uterus is coming out from the pelvic area you may be showing. If not its bloat. It's pretty simple.

I don't know why it's SO important to people whether your bump is baby or pregnancy bloat. Either way it's a bump you probably wouldn't have if you weren't pregnant and if you have a blump at 9 weeks it can still lead to people calling you out as pregnant before you're ready to announce. I don't have a bump of any variety at 9 weeks but if I did I would have to hide it just the same regardless of the contents so the (very adamant) distinction people are making seems a bit fussy to me.

I wanted to see the answer to this question but there's so much vitriol here, it puts me off this site altogether. Even if her bump is gas related, it's still to do with how her body is adjusting to the pregnancy....which makes it a fine question to pose to this forum.

I just want to add that I'm 11 weeks along tomorrow. In the past two days I've had 3 people say they just thought I was gaining weight when they found out I was pregnant(ouch). Even if someone isn't showing a bump our bodies are doing something. Mine has me thicking out in my midsection xD. Its possible to be showing even if it isn't the baby yet. I felt my uterus the past two days too. Its just comming out from behind my pubic bonebone. Its a valid question and sometimes peoples first response isn't to use the search bar. I know I've posted a few times and thought about it after. XD anyways....at least people will see this board and be quite informed.

We honestly couldn't care less what people want to tell themselves it is.  It's the coming on these boards and preaching false information that we don't like.  We are a fan of facts here, not people anxious for things that aren't happening yet (showing, flutters, knowing the sex of their baby).
Well, you seem to care quite a lot actually. And the way that it comes off in the way people address it here sounds pretty much like this: "(Snicker, point) See her bump? That's not a REAL bump. Only the cool people have REAL bumps and she's not far enough along yet to be one of the cool people. HER bump is STOOPID." OP, I absolutly believe that your body is showing that you're pregnant. Your bump is probably not made of baby yet but a lot of people don't know that, and people who see your bump and ask if you're pregnant probably don't CARE that it's made of bloat/poop, they just care that you're pregnant and will probably think your little bump is cute even if it is made of poop. So if you LIKE your bump, enjoy it because not all of us are constipated enough to get one early ;)

Like PP said tell yourself what you want, but don't tell other people things unless you have stuff to back it up! Within a few weeks all of us will be real showing but probably only to ourselves. If you are that sensitive about people judging your poop belly than don't share it with others. We are all beginning to feel really gross and fat (maybe not all of us but I am) and it's not baby. It makes us sad we only look chunky, but in a few months it will be different. Now if you could let this thread die like we had already done then your panties wouldn't be in a bunch! We know people are close enough to 12 weeks that this thread has no real point any more (like the PSA) and the OP left, she isn't here to hear you fight for her, and she is probably much further along and is beginning to have a real bump! So let's chill out guys, leave the thread be and post other random things to argue over...
