I shower, get ready, am playing with L in the living room. FIL comes and talks to me for a minute, then goes back into the next room with MIL.

This kid may not have a lot of bowel, but he has plenty of guts! DS born at 34 weeks with (surprise!) gastroschisis turned short bowel syndrome. 131 days in the NICU, 7 trips to the OR, G-button, daily TPN....
We are impatiently awaiting the day we can say goodbye to his girlfriend Ivy for good.
Pot roast is cooking, slaw is made, sprouts are ready to be roasted, chicken soup is ready. Place is clean, kid is asleep. DH isn't feeling well and has been in bed all day and may have a stomach bug so I have been battling a wonder weeked toddler and completing all tasks. I also took her on a walk and to the park. Now she's napping and I'm finally sitting down with my hot tea. Phew!
Need to leave for airport in 20 mins to get my parents. I'm so excited.
I found out my male BFF cheated on his gf (who I love!) and she doesn't know. Not cool. A mutual friend told me and she only knows bc she caught him with some lady at a wedding they went to (girlfriend couldn't make it so BFF and mutual friend shared a room to save $$). Boo. They are getting serious recently and it's so unfair to gf. :-q
We are doing absolutely nothing again today. DH is mountain biking, Oliver and I have been watching tv and now we're sharing Wendy's (terrible). After a week of being sick, I'm just drained and dreading school tomorrow.
We might go see Santa later and go to dinner. I need to get out a little bit before the work week.
Luckily DH is driving and I have already had quite a bit of Bailey's, and also DH's grandma just poured me a shot of whiskey.
In related good news, DH "accidentally" forgot to bring our gifts for the gift exchange that used to be a fun combo of nice gifts and gag gifts but has turned into a stupidfuckingthing that's entirely gag gifts. A couple years ago DH's POS cousin wrapped up his dirty underwear. I suspect that DH forgot our gifts because he knows if I touched a nasty douchebag's dirty underwear while holding Lucas I would LOSE MY FUCKING SHIT.

Mmm it seems unfair for @somerandomchick to get up with her kid and make breakfast and all that every single day alone. I can't imagine DH doing all that and getting ready for work, too. Stay at home parents obviously need a break sometimes - but maybe a more even split when she is home would be better. I would be upset. Seems like Omchick treats it like he's off the clock as soon as she gets home, when really it's both of their duties then. I am wondering what having two will be like?

Who does that? That's not even a gag... it's downright disgusting.
This boy has been driving me batty the past few days with his meltdowns, but when he comes into the kitchen when I'm making dinner and asks to help with this sweet face, the frustration doesn't matter anymore.
I'm seriously loving that I can use some of K's hand-me-downs for Iris now. I have a bunch of his long sleeved button up shirts that he just grew out of that are ADORABLE on her with some leggings and boots. And this is his Christmas shirt from two years ago. So stinkin cute.
@somerandomchick I'm sorry you've had a bad start to the day. I honestly think staying at home with kids is the hardest job. I'm 10x more tired after a day with LO than I am after a long day at work. But that may be bc staying at home is just not for me. I hope you and your H can come to an agreement on the division of labor prior to the second one arriving.

@somerandomchick Sorry for the frustration! My H is awesome about taking care of Addie's needs, but sometimes forgets about laundry & other household chores. I have found that if we divide up the list in the mornings, and he can do it on his time, it goes better.
For instance, this morning I told him we need to meal prep, do laundry, and hang some frames. He helped me prep meals (not so much with the laundry), and he knows he has to hang the frames at some point today. I definitely wouldn't be taking him his coffee every morning if he wasn't helping out.

@kikicohen I implented a law. He can eat all the heart he wants....as long as I am not home. So now he plans on it for those occasions. So gross.
@somerandomchick. I get what you are saying. I parent 98% of the time when i am home. The 2% is when I say you need to watch him so I can finish making dinner. I do think you need to talk about it. I've tried and mostly failed for mh to GET IT. It is frustrating but if you don't tell him to get off his ass and help you, I promise you, he will not figure it out on your own. Big hugs.
Dear sweet aunt tried to wrangle us into gift exchange, but happily it was time for us to go. DH is happily not pissed off at anybody, L is happily napping, I am happily tipsy.
L even ate meat that was not bacon for the first time in weeks. Ham. He ate ham! Several bites of ham.
I ate bourbon balls. Several bourbon balls. Apparently dear sweet aunt made them with Wild Turkey 101....

Dear sweet aunt also said before we left, "you two should be making another baby here soon" only I think she realized she was putting her foot in her mouth so she stopped before she said soon. Luckily DH swooped in and made a joke about making another baby HERE while I took my tears to the bathroom.

@econmama I'll take any curly instructions/advice you have. I had pin straight hair my entire life. Apparently pregnancy hormones turn my hair curly. After my first pregnancy the curly grew out, but it never went back to normal after DS.
Luckily now that Luke is all growed up he's beginning to expand his taste in music.
I mean, we still have to spend 95% of our driving time listening to Red Rwd Wine. But occasionally he lets us mix it up. Of the roughly 3000 songs we have on our car flash drive, he will currently accept: Red, Red Wine; Du Haust; and the D-Devils "Techno."

@biggunsbo Part of me wants to throw the crockpot away when he's done, claim that it broke, and ask for a new one for Christmas.
I'd designate that one for his organs and ask for a new one anyway. Hearts That's hardcore, dude.
Wrap the old one up and give it to him for christmas. Buy yourself a new fancy one. No heart or organs allowed. Mh bakes his...and stuffs it with stove top.
@KikiCohen I saw slow cooker liners at the store! Like a plastic bin bag but for a slow cooker. Dude should use that shizz next time he cooks something gross.
This got me through the day. Two large glasses! @casey78 I got the pat on the shoulder and an extra tall serving of wine the second time "there was only a little left in the bottle anyway " she said. I definitely needed it!
I just sat down with a glass of Cabernet, the potatoes are almost done in the oven, I prepped the salads, and DH just put steaks on the grill!
We did a lot of "honey dos" this weekend, finished our shopping, minus 2 items I need to buy online and over the phone tomorrow, and ordered our Christmas cards.
Andplusso, the Vols are headed to a bowl game. Good weekend all around in the atlvol house.
