So glad you got a diagnosis and that y'all are home @megsw85 sorry it's pneumonia but glad they caught it. Hope he has a speedy easy recovery at that the meds help him big time.
@megsw85 sounds like we need to get a vaca home at the halfway point. Then everytime our hubby's are away we just meet up there and live the awesome life! 2 mommies and 5 kids, we would rock at that shit!
@megsw85 glad you guys got a diagnosis and good meds, but shitty that T has pneumonia. Hopefully he has a speedy recovery and you have lots of indoor games to play this week. As far as Peter Pan, I'm taping the later broadcast because I forgot about it at 6. But some of the other girls already have a thread going if you are watching now.
Ugh @ColieAnn31 I think you passed on your cooties! I was throwing up and sick all morning. Not as bad as a sick baby, but not awesome when you are at work.
NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! I hope you aren't sick as long as I was
@kames12 if you enlarge the pic the recipe is right at the bottom of the page. Looks super simple and any flavour you want! I'll be trying with the box of Speculaas my Oma sends me this year
Tonight was the first night that I wasn't around to put LO to bed. I felt terrible explaining our bedtime routine to the ILs, because it was basically, I cheat and still nurse him.
He made himself cry so hard he vomited a little.
DH and I had a lovely night out though. Well, half a lovely night out. Our dinner plans did not work out (took fooooooooorever and eventually just had to cancel our food order and leave), but the comedian we saw was pretty wonderful. :-)
I just read a thread on Jan15 where a newb asked about stretch mark prevention. It turned into a typical first timer roast bc she got nasty with them when they corrected her grammar. I think it is so weird that almost all first timers go to such generic retorts... You guys are mothers? I feel bad for your children... I don't have time to fix grammar, I have a life... Blah blah blah. Just noticing how they always have the same pattern. That's all... I'm sleepy.
Poor T! Seems like you guys can't catch a break, @megsw85.
I've made it to Friday without having this baby. It remains to be seen if I'll make it through Friday. The French teacher is betting on today. Last night I said, "Tomorrow is Friday? Oh, thank god!" And DH said he was surprised that I made it this far without having the baby. I've been really latched on to the idea that I can't have the baby if I haven't packed a hospital bag, and it seems to be working. DH thinks this is not a good strategy.
Hugs to all the moms dealing with sick babies. I hope the weeknd will bring some relief.
I'm in a really crappy mood today. I'm not sure why. Could be just rainy day blues or all the stress I'm feeling this week. Sometimes when I'm like this it means I'm coming down with a cold. Hopefully I have some airborne in my office so I can take it and avoid getting sick. I am glad it's Friday.
LO is cutting bottom molars and wants to nurse all the time. I'm nursing and listening to pandora. Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairied comes on. LO makes eye contact, rolls so both arms are free, and starts dancing, all while still attached to the boob. Ah, the joys of extended bfing.
@hellooldfriend, I was roasted as a newb so I understand that perspective. It took me awhile to realize the tone of this forum, and to realize that these boards are actually groups of friends with a strong sense of community. I kind of thought it was just random people asking questions or girls who enjoyed being mean anonymously. I had never posted on a forum before this one. I didn't understand snark, and felt very unwelcome for a long time. I think sometimes people take it too far when ganging up on newbs. I think it's only natural for them to get defensive and fire back. They don't realize that they are setting themselves up to be entertainment for the entire bump. Then once they see that it's a tight knit group of women, they WANT to stick around and be a part of it, but have a very hard time redeeming themselves. (I haven't read the thread you are referring to yet)
I guess the above paragraph is making me look like a huge WK, but whatever. I'm glad I stuck around through all the cattiness.
@Michelin82 those are great pics, I'd say go for it. We live somewhere cold and snowy too but I know plenty of families that use summer or fall pictures for their Christmas card. I see it most with my mom's friends because they like to have a whole family pic and now that the kids are all grown they don't necessarily get together as often as before. So whenever they do (summer vacation or thanksgiving) they do their pic. I've seen lots of beach photo Christmas cards the last few years. Some of the younger families have also done the same, so I don't think its weird at any age. People just want a picture to hang on their fridge
@mcbush thanks for sharing that awesome Christmas song! I giggled so much listening to it, Jameson enjoyed it too because he was dancing and clapping as it played .
@Michelin82 I say use them. My family is known for using family pics from the summer time as their Christmas card photos. It's nice to see warm sunshine pics when the weather outside is far from that.
@sctiger I can't relate with the IF and the RE but I understand the control to an extent. I planned for when I wanted a baby to happen and avoided fertile times and used condoms to avoid getting pregnant and being due certain months.
I can imagine being thrown this little loop is probably messing with you're head a bit. I hope you're able to make a choice you're comfortable with.
this exactly. I'm pretty anal about controlling most situations, and my pregnancies were no different. If I was in your position, having had such success going the RE route I think this would throw me off too. Like @mcbush said, I hope you're able to find an option you are comfortable with.
Nora got to meet her future best friend today!! The other girl is the daughter of our really good friends who was born a month after N. I'll dd this pic later- but I think they really hit it off! Oh and we did not pose them this way (aside from laying them next to one another).
@subliminalrabbit I would be soooo mad! I read your edit and am happy to see you aren't pretending to be cool anymore. I am the first one to offer assistance when someone needs it, but when it comes to offering our house we have an agreement to always check with the other person first. With it being someone you don't even know, and you being home with E all day everyday I would not be cool with that either.
So my child is apparently against wearing clothes when she naps. Yesterday I went to get her after her nap and she had no pants on. Today she has yet to fall asleep but I can see on the monitor that she has removed her shirt. I didn't even know that she knew how to take a shirt off over her head...
Don't blame you. Especially since you would be the one at the house with this person the whole time, not your DH. He basically out you in the position where his offer inconvenienced only you, since he isn't even there. Sometimes men just don't think. I'm sure he didn't mean to be as inconsiderate as he ended up being (mine usually does it innocently) but they need to learn to think before they speak!
I'm glad T is getting better @megsw85 . Sorry the ER doc didn't take the right precautions and keep him overnight though. Hopefully it's smooth sailing going forward.
I got great news from the hospital today. Baby Nixon is out of the ICU and moved into a ward room. He is doing awesome despite the initial blood pressure scares he gave us all. FX for no more complications and he will be going home really soon!
Grayson is driving me crazy...throwing toys over every single gate...spitting his milk out...I need him to go to bed soon. I am not feeling like a great mommy tonight.
I'm sorry @WorkinIt . I know you've had a few posts lately about her getting under your skin. I hope she gets her act together soon and gets back to her old sweet self, otherwise it will be a long 18+ years dealing with the likes of her. What's your husband's take on her new attitude?

Feel better!!
