I was born in Michigan, and brought up in the snow. This weather is bizarre to me. My 6.5 year old keeps asking when fall is coming? This is his first Christmas without snow.
Do you live close enough that you could take him up into the mountains?
There's usually snow there by this time of year.

I've lived in Ohio most of my life, but was lucky enough to live near Los Angeles for a couple years as kid.  I miss California, and never (not once) missed Ohio.
    I love Ohio.  :x

We have a lady at my office that never washes her hands in the bathroom. She's also the lady that coughs as she walks and doesn't cover her mouth. So.gross.

I wish there was an eeeewwwww, yuck button.
  • I'm on the Elf hating wagon. However, I just really dislike Will Farrel. I find him so obnoxious.

  • I don't understand why anyone ever wants to have a crowd in their L&D room. I honestly try hard not to judge it, but I really can't help it sometimes. I just think it's bizarre having anyone besides mom, dad, and the medical team. You aren't the queen of France, no one needs to watch you shoot a baby out of your bat cave.
As someone who had a whole crowd in her L&D room with Rosie I can completely agree! I didn't really say anything and I had my mom, my ex, my siblings, aunts, step dad, and grandparents in her L&D room. I think 12 people were in there talking, eating, ect while I was being induced. I was so out of it I didn't care too much at the time. They all stayed until Rosie was out via my section, of which I had my mother with me during the section. Not my ex. I told everyone with Cade that other than SO and my doula nobody was to be there until 2 hours afterwards. There was still 6 people there by the time they were rolling me to recovery.

  • Do you ever look at pictures of kids on facebook and just want to write in the comments "Gee, it's too bad your kid looks so much like your husband?"  I do.

My daughter looks just like her daddy and she's super cute! Here's a pic to prove my point :)
  • Oh @ElleBeeDub, she is just the cutest!!

I thought that was the Queen of England (Victoria I think)?

It was all of them. Marie Antoinette supposedly fainted from how hot the room got because so many people crammed in to watch her vagina birth a human.

  • I love Elf- the belching scene never stops being funny. I have the sense of humor of a 12 year old boy.

And I have a little crush on Will Farrell.

omg.  I would have been giving birth and being arrested for homicide if there were this many people in the L&D room.  NO WAY

and my family was not allowed to visit until AT LEAST the next day.

I am the queen of bitches.  Get the hell out.  This is my birth and baby…not yours

It was terrible. I wanted to punch my ex when he complained he was hungry and brought hot yummy food in while I was in labor. I was shaking from my sugar being low and hungry and there he was standing next to me eating fries. Buttonhole.

I've got a huge crush on Luke from Gilmore Girls.  A TV crush.  A rerun crush?  A TVrecrush?

DH actually likes Gilmore Girls so we randomly watch it. The other night I may have told DH I love Luke. Funny thing was he wasn't mad or even surprised.
My husband reminds me of Luke :) he doesn't like the show, but I've made him watch enough that even he admits he is like Luke.

Truth. Dude, this time around I was even rude to J and my MW (who I absolutely love). If anyone else tried to bust their way in I can't even imagine how I would have reacted, but it probably would have been bloody.

Fun fact: The first words R ever heard me say after she was born were me screaming at the top of my lungs 'Jesus fucking Christ!' Mother of the year right here.

    --------------
For real. I wanted as few present for the birth as possible. I didn't even call the midwife to come over until I absolutely had to.

I don't get the whole Elf on a Shelf thing.

T-swift is annoying, but some of her songs are so catchy! (E was dancing to Shake it Off earlier and it was friggin adorable)

I wanted only medical people and DH in my delivery room. Nobody was there during delivery thankfully. But my placenta got stuck, so the doctor had to manually get it out (i.e. rip it out of me). I had no epidural or pain medication, and he was elbow deep in me for like a half an hour trying to get it out, and it was awful. Then, some random members of DH's family were in the room almost immediately after that was said and done. I was pissed. Nobody even asked me if I was ready for visitors, and I was not. I was in pain and exhausted and just wanted to have some quiet time with my new baby girl.

  • ITK I feel like I need to hear more details about Rs birth story.

If you want, I'll share it after I write it up. It was intense.

Also, no joke, she was born to Miley Cyrus's Wrecking Ball.
OMG did you make a cd? I need someone to make me a labor cd. Bc I can't do mix CDs myself.

Nope, I Heart Radio on my iPad.

  • My UO is that I don't think it's a big deal if a woman doesn't wear a bra. I don't really get why it's so taboo. Do what makes you comfortable, it isn't like you're walking around naked.
Me:41, DH:41 Positive for MTHFR mutations- one copy C677T, one copy A1298C. One daughter born on Thanksgiving in 2013. Six losses.
