  • UO: I like our Elf on the Shelf.

R named him Frozen. He does things like fall into the chocolate chips because he's excited to make cookies for the neighbors. I think we'll find him in the dog toys soon wanting to donate to a local shelter :)

I get annoyed by Keira Knightley.

I hate the way she holds her mouth. Always. Her prognathic jaw irks me every time I see her.

  • Taylor didn't bother me until lately, but I hate Shake It Off. It didn't help that our last Bunco hostess thought it appropriate to turn on the album at high volume and sing the whole dang thing off-key while I was trying to get L to sleep.

  • *looks up the word "prognathic"*

I don't understand why Taylor Swift is so popular.
I don't understand why half of today's pop musicians are popular. Which makes me sound so old.
  • Meesh, I totally agree with the NB prints! They don't do much else but lay around, be held, and get their diapers changed, so why not have something cute on the bootie??

  • I have purchased cute prints in the nb size. Can't wait to use them. Then I'll sell them so another baby has a cute bottom while in nb.

  • Of course NBs need all the cute prints.  And Babylegs (or homemade ones) to match.

    Gasp! What a cutie patootie

UO: I'm glad it's been raining here in California (especially because I don't have to drive anywhere today). All the people who complain about the rain but want green lawns/swimming pools annoy me with their ignorance.
  • UO: I love Garth Brooks.  Have you heard his new song, "Mom"?  It makes me cry every time.  I'll be one of the "old" people at his concert, if he comes anywhere near where I live.

I'm annoyed with them saying the rain makes it feel like Christmas. California is never going to feel like Christmas to me.

  • @Nvywife, you would then hate Colbie Caillat's "Christmas in the Sand"! I was born and raised here so her song makes perfect sense to me LOL.

Ugh, this song annoys the crap out of me.

Suddenly my life doesn't seem such a waste,
    It all revolves around you.
  • I was born in Michigan, and brought up in the snow. This weather is bizarre to me. My 6.5 year old keeps asking when fall is coming? This is his first Christmas without snow.

Guess that's another UO for me that I love that song and watch the video on YouTube every few days! Might as well confess even though it's not Friday that I've watched Love Actually and Elf by choice during the summer.

ETA: I knew if I posted about the Sand song, it was going to be unpopular LOL

  • Do you ever look at pictures of kids on facebook and just want to write in the comments "Gee, it's too bad your kid looks so much like your husband?"  I do.

Yes! I'm a terrible person. Especially when it's a little girl and looks so much like daddy.

  • I have a friend that tells me how ugly her second child was as an infant. Then tells me she hopes mine is cute since I'm working on baking her now. This song is all I can think about when she is talking about ugly babies. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=d3zpT502CEs

Do you live close enough that you could take him up into the mountains?
There's usually snow there by this time of year.

I've lived in Ohio most of my life, but was lucky enough to live near Los Angeles for a couple years as kid.  I miss California, and never (not once) missed Ohio.

SAK and I will be there. (unfortunately not in the same place). I fully expect to be on the younger side of the crowd. Do kids today even listen to Garth? He is rarely played on my (urban) country station - but when I was in college ahem, 10+ years ago, we pretty much had him on 24/7.

Though I am a loser and haven't listened to the new stuff. Why isn't it on spotify? I"m cheap.

I bought the new album yesterday as a b-day preset to me & it was only $10.49. Target has it sale plus on Cartwheel. Garth took the last decade off to raise his girls, which I totally respect. @stringy813, I was in college 20+ yrs ago. I'm late to the baby game. ;)

  • My UO (apparently): It is DISGUSTING to not wash your hands after you go to the bathroom.  Whether it's a onesie, a twosie, or a false alarm.  Male or female.  Wash your damn hands.
Um, yes. Is this negotiable to some people?
MH's mom's side of the family apparently doesn't do this.  (I don't eat anything they cook.)  And I see it a lot at work.  Either not washing at all, or just rinsing with water.

I'm to the no travel point of pregnancy, and if we were any further south we would be in Mexico.

I send grown ass men back to the bathroom at our house to was their hands. One told me he didn't wash because my bathroom towels are to nice to wipe his hands on.

Gag!!! This is why I hate potluck dinners. Although most of MH's family work in the medical field, so hopefully they know better.

My UO is that I think it's gross to let hairy pets in the kitchen. I can't stand finding cat hair on a counter. Blech.
