Where does your baby sit the most?!

Re: Where does your baby sit the most?!

  • @Duffgurl Yes I totally get that's swirly feeling. I'm not sure what on earth he's doing in there to cause it, but it feels soooooo weird! I've read some people say that it feels like that when they roll over? And I know that often when I feel it, the movements after that feel different, as if he's dramatically changed position in there.

Rolling feels suuuper weird. I haven't felt it with this one yet but I remember it from when I was pregnant (but farther along) with my first. Obviously he was much bigger, but still...it's an odd feeling.

  • She's breech, sometimes on the right, other times on the left.
  • He's hanging out pretty low but I feel most of the movement on the left.

  • Mine are laying heads in opposite direction like they're in bunk beds..

ETA- that I only say this because I'm pretty positive they don't have enough room to flip every where like they did a few weeks back.. so I would guess they're still in the same position.. and also this..

Hahaha. Mine always seem to be kicking eachother. Uh oh ...

Left side, and apparently I've got an anterior placenta that's sitting slightly off to the right.

Side note: the tech said an anterior placenta is normal, but when I got home and looked it up (I know, I know... get off google) it said there's a chance of it causing the baby to deliver sunny side up. Is that back labor? I know things can still shift around, so I'm guessing it's too early to even be concerned about that. Anyone have that before?
I did not have an anterior placenta, but my son was sunny side up, and I had back labor.

  • At my u/s they said it was head down laying on its left side but since then I have been feeling it all over. Was told we have a VERY active baby in there and I really feel it 24/7.
  • She's on my bladder and kicking like crazy!

Back labor is when the labor pains are in your back. https://americanpregnancy.org/labor-and-birth/back-labor/

I had it with my labor with DS (it was awful). He wasn't sunny side up and I didn't have an anterior placenta. He had a big head though.

So what I'm hearing is, do not fear back labor just because you have an anterior placenta. Fear back labor because it is back labor and it sucks and it could happen to anyone. I'm too sleepy to find a good gif for this, but know that it would be something with a hilariously overly dramatic ugly cry.
    Yep pretty much. Sorry!
  • @Lilzeezee DS was sunny side up, but I didn't have back labor. I did have a strong urge to be on my hands and knees and some back to back contractions, but both of those things were NBD. DD I had an anterior placenta and she ended up being positioned perfectly. No back labor. She came out 1hr. after I finally realized that I was in labor. She still has a "let's get this show on the road!" personality, and DS is still very sunny!

  • mostly on the right side, but the baby has change that lastnight. and is now on the right and middle of my stomach.

  • At the AS, baby was head down. She was also smashing her face into the placenta and licking it, making it a challenge to get a profile. Edit because auto correct likes to make me look bad.
@MOtownMama my LO was doing just about the same thing at our AS. Head down, face into the placenta. As the tech was trying to get a shot of the face and measure the head baby just kept burying their face more and more into the placenta, then brought their hand up to hide the bit of face we could see. At least we got all the necessary measurements

  • So. Back labor people. I have a tendency to block out things, like the less savory and more injurous sections of my labor.

I do recall that I could not effing move without getting a contraction that was off the charts, walking around was absolutely not an option (seriously. People MOVE AROUND while in labor!? HOW?), and it was an extremely concentrated and angry pain. I just chalked it up to "labor sucks," but did I perhaps experience back labor?

Um, I could move with back labor, I just REALLY didn't want to. In fact, my DH, mom and doula made me climb 3 flights of stairs - multiple times - walk around a mall - multiple times - move around my room, ect. (I still haven't forgiven them). But I was wearing TENS which helped a whole lot, so maybe that was why? I know I didn't want to move. The few times I had a contraction or two that was in the front was sweet relief. I felt like someone was wringing out my spine and all I wanted to do was lay down. It was the worst pain I have ever experienced and I cry when I think I may have to go through that again. I've even considered an epidural. You may have experienced back labor.
  • In my uterus
  • I'm not sure where baby is sitting, but they were facing my spine at our A/S ultrasound today. Baby didn't want to move, so she warned me before jabbing/jiggling my stomach with the transducer... I don't think she was that successful :D

  • My little girl has been breech since the first scan, (we've had 6 so far), and has pretty much stayed in that position. I only feel her kicks low down and right in the middle. Clinging to me like a little monkey. It made the anatomy scan a little challenging. I'm really hoping to feel the swirly turning feeling real soon!

It may have been back labor. It felt extremely concentrated and angry, like you describe. I had a feeling I was going to have back labor, when I felt pressure in my sacrum area, the moment I started contracting. It was painful, but manageable until I hit transition. That's when I lost it, I couldn't move and didn't want to move. I could only rock back and forth on all four on the bed. I think I will be better prepared this time, knowing what to expect. My son was sunny side up, and never turned during labor, so I pushed him out that way. It took almost 2 hours, but I did it.

  • This post made me dream that I was able to feel baby's outline and he was transverse.

But seriously, baby is so active that I have no idea where he is. I can feel and see movement all over, sometimes in different places simultaneously. I can't tell what is a head, a foot, a butt or a hand. However, the last three ultrasounds have shown him with his head on my bladder, from week 12-20. I'll see where he is again at 28 weeks (I'm 23 now).

  • @MOtownMama‌ licking the placenta? Babies do that??? Interesting, I had no idea.

I'm jealous of all you ladies feeling movement. In order for me to feel anything I have to get really still and almost to a zen state or something. I don't know if I have an anterior placenta or not, I guess I'll find out Monday during the a/s. I can't wait until I am able to feel more, and especially for DH to be able to feel!

I have the laziest baby ever. The last 3 ultrasounds I've had baby has been hanging out in the top right laying against its placenta...
