***UPDATE***
I dropped the tissue off this morning and was surprised by an US and blood draw. The US tech said there is still "debris" in my ute so I'll continue to bleed for at least a few days, but they're pretty sure I've passed all the tissue. I actually looked at what I passed to see if I collected everything and I for sure did. The sac was completely in tact and I could see the full yolk sac, baby's bubble and the tiny cord connected to the sac.
The nurse said everything from here out would be period flow but said to call if I have excessive bleeding, get dizzy or spike a fever. They're planning to track my betas to 0, repeat the US next week and I should get the pathology report on the tissue sometime next week.
Thank you for all of your support! I don't know what I would do without this place.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, let me start by saying this thanksgiving was SHIT! Second, I now have a much deeper respect for any and every woman who had ever had a natural MC. After my MMC in March I had a D&C before any camping or spotting started so I had no idea what to expect this time around.
***warning: slightly graphic***
Let me just say that my RE greatly under explained this process and I was shockingly unprepared for what happened. She told me a natural miscarriage at this point would be like a heavy period with some clotting and a quarter to half dollar sized clot that needed to be collected for testing.
BULL FUCKING SHIT!!!
I had consistent 5-15 min apart cramps starting at 8am which, at 2 pm, progressed into time-able contractions for 3 straight hours before passing a palm sized mass. The 2- 500mg Tylenol to 'ease the pain' did nothing but make me nauseas (I eventually threw them up). When I thought everything was finished I got dressed, put on a super duty pad and laid on the couch for an hour. When I stood up the flood gates opened and I ended up showering with my clothes on, before scrubbing the 10ft dripped blood trail out of my white carpet.
I understand everyone is different, but I feel like Dr's and RE's should provide some sort of paper work of verbal explanation with what to expect.
Sorry for the graphic rant but I was seriously unprepared for the extreme physical and emotional pain I experienced today. Thanksgiving will never be the same.
I hope everyone else's thanksgivings were enjoyable. ((Hugs)) to each of you! Thank you for all the support! I'd offer goodies but I'm mobile!
Re: UPDATE: AW: MC Rant **Graphic**
The amount of bleeding you had sounds like a lot. That, combined with the size of the mass, makes me think you should call your RE. It's a holiday but someone should be on call. Watch the bleeding and if it continues to be very heavy (fill a pad in an hour), go to the ER.
I do want to add that with my natural m/c in Feb 2013, I passed a sac that was around the same size as what you described. My bleeding was not like what you described. My OB's NP also made sure I had a heavy painkiller on hand just in case. Maybe you could get your doctor to call something in to a 24 hour pharm if one is open? I know I had a lot of pain (mostly my back) afterwards because that was where my contractions were centered.
Keep us updated on how you are doing.
((((hugs)))))
The day the Bump died - Jasper is wise
I agree with @buggirl72 that you should watch the bleeding. My MC in April sounds very similar to yours but I was in the ER. My mass was a bit larger than palm size and I bled... A lot. I soaked my dress and the gown they had me put on two times. I soaked the oversized nighttime pads for a couple of days before the bleeding got to be less. They also gave me a script for percocet and although I hate taking medicine, I took it at night.
Watch your fatigue in the next could of days also. I was so exhausted and my OB told me to take extra doses of iron due to the amount of blood I lost.

With my fourth loss, I tried to pass everything with with cytotec and even the RE at the time didn't explain appropriately, but I knew better then.
Amazing that medical professionals don't know or don't inform us well enough

Oh Love... I'm so sorry you had to deal with this today. I agree... natural miscarriage is a difficult thing to go through, and I don't think anyone can be fully prepared for the toll it takes on our bodies and emotions.
Remember that you are strong and that you will get through this. Remember that you are loved by all of us here and don't be afraid to lean on us however you need to.

Luckily there was a thread on the loss board that prepared me for it. I was wearing depends. If a natural MC thread doesn't exist yet, I bet it would be really useful for other people down the road.
Hopefully you'll be feeling better soon. Myself, I spotted for weeks after, and 40 days later am just getting my first period since.
Hope that Dr calls something in for you!
I too had contraction like cramps with my MC but nothing as large as you passed.
