Dh just went to leave and pick up our takeout, said there was a big suv parked outside with two guys in it. As soon as he went out, he said they looked up at him and then immediately drove off. That's only slightly alarming...

Yikes, that would be unsettling :-/

  • Visit with lactation consultant yesterday:

LC: what do you think is the problem?

Me: well I have blisters and cracking and it seems as if she doesn't want to open her mouth wide and get a deep end latch. And it feels as if she's chewing on my nipples.

LC: Seems as if she doesn't want to open her mouth (then checks suck with gloved finger). Yup and she gums when she sucks.

Me: so what can we do to try to resolve this.

LC: wait for her to open her mouth

...begin explosives on head...no shit sherlock don't you think I've been trying that!

    Me: I've been doing that.

LC: maybe try a chiropractor to loosen her up.

WTF! $95 and two hours later you didn't help me with the latch and suggest a chiropractor! Aaaah! Plus you didn't show me anything just watched me in pain feeding her! What a waste. Quack!

On a positive note i did leaen she are a little over 3 Oz during her feed at 5pm.

  • C is wanting to eat constantly but is the whimpering and crying while eating. Any ideas what this could be? 6 week growth spurt? She's miserable and I feel so bad. She also has reflux but it had been better the last few Ldays.

  • @Leysin97‌ 3oz is a great feed, so that's good news! At least you know that even with a shallow latch, she's transferring the milk she needs.

Did the LC recommend positioning techniques to help her get a deeper latch? Did she offer any tips for HOW to encourage LO to open wide? Sounds like she was not particularly helpful...I'm so sorry.

A chiropractor may help quite a bit. Many insurance policies will cover a certain number of chiro visits per year with a copay. Maybe you could explore that option for LO...but in the meantime, to get some tips for what I mentioned above, could you call a La Leche League Leader for help? They help moms for free, and most will do home visits, so you don't even have to change out of your jammies. ;)

That's how it was when I met with an LC. Only difference was mine was $80 for 1 hour. I feel your frustration.

@keelyd There's lint at LO's circ site every diaper change. I think it's the diapers we use. I just wipe it away every change.

ETA: I also worry about the toes. I check for hairs or lint at every diaper change (logical time because feet are outside sleeper).

I got taco bell when I went to put gas in the car.

I know this is cheddar, so not helpful for pizza, but this may make you feel better:

I need a normal check ... does anyone else's LO cry (almost a scream, but not as shrill, generally a short one) when they poop?  He poops every three days or so and it's usually one "pile" that has a soft clay like consistency.  We're working with the Ped and trying a few things to see if he is constipated or if something else is going on.  Just curious if my kid is the only one with a "warning sound".

    @MRSclarke08‌

This is very similar to S - he grunts really loud the entire time, makes fists, and takes 15min or so to finish. The consistency is exactly like how you explained it, but he does have a bowel movement every 36 hours. Longer than that I give him a bit of prune juice. Interestingly, I switched him to an organic formula and he had really soft stool, but not diarrhea, and he still did all the grunting. We have switched him back to similac sensitive.

There's no way of missing his poop since it's a loud production.

  • Thanks @Emerald27 definitely going to try that cheese. This no dairy is hard. Went out to eat today and everything had dairy.

Sometimes I feel like my post baby belly is bigger. I want to lose this flabby skin! Perhaps I'm just frustrated because none of my clothes fit decent or look good right now. I just want to wear yoga pants and sweats all the time.

Solidarity. I can't wear any of my real clothes and I'm so over my maternity clothes.
I don't like complaining about it because my body did an amazing thing and grew my daughter but I do not like the way anything I own fits. My maternity jeans are too big and slide down and my pre-pregnancy jeans give me extreme muffin top. Most of my tops won't button around my chest now. Guess it's time to go shopping.
We are so excited to grow our family!

Treat yourself! I have bought so many new tops and a few pairs of jeans. So much better!
  • We had pizza! And C has been crying pretty much nonstop since like 6. Thanksgiving eve isn't what it used to be. I need a drink.

Just popping in. I had a super busy day with contractors doing stuff on our house so we can get ready to sell it. My backyard is looking so much better and they aren't even close to being done!

Also I made myself a drink and I am really feeling it. Wooooooo!

At first I thought you said contractions...ohh sleep deprivation the struggle is real
I saw contractions too and had to read it twice
  • We made it to New Jersey.

Welcome! Where in NJ are you, anyway?
    Thanks! We're in South Orange.

  • So the past 3 days, DS is crying and nothing makes him happy for longer than 5 minutes, from about 6pm until midnight. Is this the witching hour you all speak of? He's like a different baby at night lately. Ugh.

In case you were wondering, amaretto doesn't take away the pain of DTD.
    Couldn't go through with it.
Resulted in tears of pain and an ugly cry about what if it never gets better.
    ...happy birthday, dh...

sorry to hear that. Hopefully it gets better sooner than later.
