Dh just went to leave and pick up our takeout, said there was a big suv parked outside with two guys in it. As soon as he went out, he said they looked up at him and then immediately drove off. That's only slightly alarming...
Me: well I have blisters and cracking and it seems as if she doesn't want to open her mouth wide and get a deep end latch. And it feels as if she's chewing on my nipples.
LC: Seems as if she doesn't want to open her mouth (then checks suck with gloved finger). Yup and she gums when she sucks.
Me: so what can we do to try to resolve this.
LC: wait for her to open her mouth
...begin explosives on head...no shit sherlock don't you think I've been trying that!
Me: I've been doing that.
LC: maybe try a chiropractor to loosen her up.
WTF! $95 and two hours later you didn't help me with the latch and suggest a chiropractor! Aaaah! Plus you didn't show me anything just watched me in pain feeding her! What a waste. Quack!
On a positive note i did leaen she are a little over 3 Oz during her feed at 5pm.
C is wanting to eat constantly but is the whimpering and crying while eating. Any ideas what this could be? 6 week growth spurt? She's miserable and I feel so bad. She also has reflux but it had been better the last few Ldays.
So I was at best buy in this ridiculously long line with an infant and this ass hat tries to cut me! I go "I don't think so dude. I have a baby! My time is way more important than yours!" The holidays brings out the best in people!
@Leysin97 3oz is a great feed, so that's good news! At least you know that even with a shallow latch, she's transferring the milk she needs.
Did the LC recommend positioning techniques to help her get a deeper latch? Did she offer any tips for HOW to encourage LO to open wide? Sounds like she was not particularly helpful...I'm so sorry.
A chiropractor may help quite a bit. Many insurance policies will cover a certain number of chiro visits per year with a copay. Maybe you could explore that option for LO...but in the meantime, to get some tips for what I mentioned above, could you call a La Leche League Leader for help? They help moms for free, and most will do home visits, so you don't even have to change out of your jammies.

That's how it was when I met with an LC. Only difference was mine was $80 for 1 hour. I feel your frustration.
DS just fell asleep after a meltdown -- thought H was pouting bc he couldnt calm him and DS calmed instantly with me. Nope, he's pouting bc he has so much "sexual frustration." Sorry bud -- considering I get maybe 1 hr of totally baby or pump free time per day when I can actually keep my eyes open, I'm not really in the mood.
Oh good ... Now H fell asleep, too. Guess he'll be a lot of help tonight. Ass hat.
The last 2 days have been busy with Thanksgiving prep since we found out rather late that we are hosting. Yesterday I took S to WF to pick up our order, only to discover that I had scheduled pick-up for Wednesday. Thankfully it was a small order and they were able to get it together for me on the spot, but at that point S was late for a feeding and bordering on meltdown. I normally would have gone back today, but we were expecting a ton of snow (which didn't come in tons), and I didn't want to drag S out, and even though DH was working from home I didn't know if he would be able to watch him.
I'm really behind on the randoms thread Hope everyone (LOs included!) is doing well and that the holiday isn't causing too much stress!

How many of us are eating pizza for dinner tonight?
*raises hand*
Unexpectedly. DH and his brother were supposed to go to some event this evening, but then decided to just stay home and hang out. I didn't want to order in because I figured it would take forever, so we had homemade pizza and a pepperoni roll. Thankfully once I saw the forecast for snow I picked up pizza essentials with the turkey.

I need a normal check ... does anyone else's LO cry (almost a scream, but not as shrill, generally a short one) when they poop? He poops every three days or so and it's usually one "pile" that has a soft clay like consistency. We're working with the Ped and trying a few things to see if he is constipated or if something else is going on. Just curious if my kid is the only one with a "warning sound".
This is very similar to S - he grunts really loud the entire time, makes fists, and takes 15min or so to finish. The consistency is exactly like how you explained it, but he does have a bowel movement every 36 hours. Longer than that I give him a bit of prune juice. Interestingly, I switched him to an organic formula and he had really soft stool, but not diarrhea, and he still did all the grunting. We have switched him back to similac sensitive.
There's no way of missing his poop since it's a loud production.

Man I wish we ate pizza tonight! We had a big late lunch, so we didn't really eat dinner.. we also had family pics taken tonight- we wore ugly sweaters and made funny faces.. then took serious pics too it was fun.. got some shopping done today and ready to just be lazy tomorrow!
Just popping in. I had a super busy day with contractors doing stuff on our house so we can get ready to sell it. My backyard is looking so much better and they aren't even close to being done!
Also I made myself a drink and I am really feeling it. Wooooooo!
No pizza here. My parents first date was the day before thanksgiving...49 years ago! So they always have steak and lobster to celebrate. We always eat here on Wed while dh plays tennis, so me and the kids got to join them. Except the toddler called it "monster" rather than lobster...and wanted it all on her plate but ate none.
My DS calls lobsters "bugs" and always loudly asks if we can go say hi to the bugs while we're grocery shopping. We've received some interesting looks for that. He loves the bugs.
Sometimes I feel like my post baby belly is bigger. I want to lose this flabby skin! Perhaps I'm just frustrated because none of my clothes fit decent or look good right now. I just want to wear yoga pants and sweats all the time.

Solidarity. I can't wear any of my real clothes and I'm so over my maternity clothes.
I don't like complaining about it because my body did an amazing thing and grew my daughter but I do not like the way anything I own fits. My maternity jeans are too big and slide down and my pre-pregnancy jeans give me extreme muffin top. Most of my tops won't button around my chest now. Guess it's time to go shopping.
DS had some severe dry skin on his face, head, neck etc so I bought him some aquaphor last night. Today I notice the dryness is gone but it's red and hot...an allergic reaction. So I look at the ingredients... I didn't realize it's mineral oil... DD#1 is allergic to mineral oil (it's in butt paste and baby oil...she's reacted to both) so apparently DS is as well.
I wanted laid tonight but now DS is a whiny mess while he works on sweating it back out of his system and I'm sad.
On a better note I made two pies from scratch and dinner with my own four kids and one of my nieces today.... Mommy achievement unlocked? At least it balances out? ;-)

Treat yourself! I have bought so many new tops and a few pairs of jeans. So much better!

I think shirts fit worse on the post baby belly than the pregnant belly.

So the past 3 days, DS is crying and nothing makes him happy for longer than 5 minutes, from about 6pm until midnight. Is this the witching hour you all speak of? He's like a different baby at night lately. Ugh.
In case you were wondering, amaretto doesn't take away the pain of DTD. Couldn't go through with it. Resulted in tears of pain and an ugly cry about what if it never gets better. ...happy birthday, dh...
sorry to hear that. Hopefully it gets better sooner than later.

LC: what do you think is the problem?

ETA: I also worry about the toes. I check for hairs or lint at every diaper change (logical time because feet are outside sleeper).
