My daughter was hospitalized for over a week for a vaccine reaction. Doctor recommend us no to vaccinate further because they give her seizures and caused her to stop breathing and my younger two were advised against them as well bc of egg allergies. So stick that in your self righteous juice box and suck it. (: k thanks

You're a peach. I'm sorry your children had adverse effects from vaccines and now they are vulnerable to every disease out there. That is not something you should be boasting about IMO. You have a very unfortunate situation on your hands, my dear.

You are terrible Fucking Human, she wasn't boasting about anything she was explaining her reasoning as to why she doesn't vaccinate and there really shouldn't be a whole hell lot of anything to say back to that. Maybe if you had to see a loved one let alone a child in the hospital from something YOU chose to do you wouldn't be so high on your horse. The sad thing is those reactions are not uncommon.

  • Nope no preexisting conditions. All her files state it was a vaccine reaction and it was reported by my doctor to all required fields. And then he and the hospital went over her case together and decided it was too risky to give her vaccines.
My boys have grown out of their egg allergy by still have horrible vaccine allergy reactions so again we were advised in their case the vaccines are not ideal for them.
They are incredibly healthy, lots of hippie mama stuff going on with herbs and elderberry and whatnot lol which was all recommended by their awesome pedi. He has been awesome in helping us keep them happy and healthy. Vaccines are medicine and one size doesn't fit all.

I can't have vaccines for the same reason as my boys, egg allergy as a child followed by unexplained reactions to vaccines.

That's a perfectly reasonable reason to not vaccinate your daughter. Is there a reason why you and YH do not get vaccinated? Do you also have egg allergies? Have you also had a bad reaction to the flu vaccine?

I don't think I am unfortunate at all. They are here. They are healthy. They have loving caring parents and family. They have awesome doctors looking out for them. I think I am pretty god damn blessed(:

Watch the damn name-calling, kitten. And, NO, the reactions are not that common. Because if they were, I'd know one single person who was affected. Or they'd stop giving them out. Or there would be a public outcry. But there's not. But feel free to show me your statistics. Go ahead. Dazzle me.

What do you call all the people refusing to vaccinate? Seems like a bit of a public outcry to me people are trying to spread the awareness on this but it falls on deaf ears. Like I said not going to waste my energy talking to you all about your "hot button" issues. Good luck to you, really.

Thankfully we're all entitled to our own opinions.
With ya here..haven't had a flu shot in years or last pregnancy and won't this time. The reactions on here are pretty entertaining. You'd think we are saying we are going to cut off our heads and hope we don't die.

Still reading this thread but between this and the anti-vax thread all I can gather is that you're hella ignorant.

Meh, nevermind, guess she was banned since I started reading this thread.

First of all, how do you know I've never seen a loved one or a child in the hospital? Thanks for assuming that, though. How very insensitive of you.

Secondly, way to jump in there and white-knight. By saying "stick that in your juice box", blah, blah, blah she does sound awfully boisterous about having a reason to avoid vaccinations. I don't know. If I had a kid who couldn't be vaccinated (and if you can read you will read that I said I'm sorry her children can't be vaccinated) I would definitely regret the extra care he'd need and advocate for others to get their vaccinations. I wouldn't be telling people to suck juice boxes because my son can't have vaccinations.

Thirdly, no. Reactions aren't common. Especially serious reactions. How about you read up, get educated and come back and have a mature, smart discussion?

THAT is a legitimate reason to not vaccinate your kids and I would imagine you would be more upset than anyone else on this board at the people that don't have a legitimate excuse to not vaccinate because they put your kids at risk. Out of curiosity how DO you feel about anti-vaxers?
  • I used to be kinda anti-FLU vac. I guess I was just skeptical but DD got it every year anyway. When I got pregnant, I asked my husband how he felt about me not getting it because the baby was his too and I felt he should have a say. I was worried about how the vaccine would affect the baby since I had never gotten one pregnant before. He convinced me that doctors know what they're talking about and the benefits outweighed the risks. I did a lot of research and now these posts get me so mad. I'm so glad I'm on this side of the fence now!

These are completely different and valid reasons. You and your kids, and kids who cannot get the vaccines due to allergies and are immunosupressed, are the reason everyone else should get vaccinated. Imagine your kid getting a completely preventable illness because someone else felt the vaccines violated their morals. Your kid could die because of unfounded lies and opinion.

No self-righteousness here. Just science-based FACTS.

And im not sue which side you're arguing fir or against because you would have if you're kids hadn't been allergic. Evidenced by the fact that you tried.

I'm sorry that you had to go through that as a family. I can't imagine how horrifying that was, but those are rarities compared to how many lives are saved by the vaccines.
