3rd Trimester

Grooming Question

I just read in a 2nd tri post that grooming before giving birth vaginally is not a good idea because it really irritates the healing process as the hair grows in.  For those of you who are on your 2+ pregnancies, is this true?  I assumed the opposite - that it would be good to groom before birth in order to help with hygiene during the healing process.  What are your thoughts?  TIA

Re: Grooming Question

  • I heard that the risk of grooming during the last 4 weeks before giving birth is infection.  If you accidentally cut yourself during the grooming process then...  well, I don't really get the risk, actually, because much worse things (like tearing) can occur during the birthing process.  It seems that a little shaving cut isn't going to hurt anything!  Maybe ask your doc?
