Hi, I am a mom and a BA student at the
University of Amsterdam doing an anonymous, non-commercial linguistic study on
maternal language. May I share my academic link with your community? The guidelines
say no surveys with monetary gain but this is purely academic research questionnaire
with no monetary gain is that ok? Thanks 😊

Re: The SleepEasy Thread
But anyways, DH mentioned to me last night that since LO will be 5 months next week, we will need to cut out the dream feed soon. How did you do that with BFing? Do you treat it the same as a MOTN feed and decrease your time feeding? Or just drop it cold turkey?

We've been doing 1pm, but then technically they're awake for 3 hours instead of 2.5 hours.
Does that make sense?
ETA: I think this is another use your best judgement situation. If the girls are dying to sleep, they need to sleep.
We're starting tonight. I've got a few questions though: my DD is currently using a zipadeezip. Should I go ahead and stop using this? It seems like this would fit into the "sleep associations" in appendix A that I should stop using. Thoughts?
And earlier in the book, I believe it said that a dream feed is not necessary for babies over 5 months and 15 pounds- did you read that the same? If that's the case, then I should only be doing nighttime feed weans.
I have noticed a drop in supply, but I do a midnight dream feed and I don't pump, so I couldn't tell you numbers. In short, yes.
As far as the zipadeezip goes, I would stop using it as I assume you don't plan on using it for the foreseeable future (6 mo+). I think it's important to help LO sleep learn in the exact environment you plan on having them sleep up until they start to climb out of the crib. We use a Halo sleepsack. I just think that's one more transition you would have to make.
So tomorrow for nap time, (we're starting tonight), I'll put her down at her designated time. She is to be in her crib for one full hour. Regardless of whether she sleeps. Do checkins as necessary. If she's still awake after an hour, I get her up. If she falls asleep after 55 minutes, I let her sleep for one hour.
So far so good?
So then if she doesn't sleep at all, would the second nap begin at the original designated time or would this be adjusted?
And so far so good for night 1- took her 43 minutes to knock out. We're also going cold turkey from her zipadeezip so I'm anxious to see how all of this plays out!
Thank you all again!!
And yes she does keep rolling over onto her belly which makes it worse for her but darn it she's gotta either figure out how to fix it or be okay with it! We'll see!
We are now starting nap training. She follows the schedule well. But now she's CIO. She's great when she goes to bed at 7 pm. But still struggling when she wakes up in the middle if the night. So I figure MOTN and MOTD are the same problem no sense in delaying one. Omg I'm so sleep deprived I need coffee....
Love yalls. I know it's worth it.
Happy mom dance here!
