I have a history of eczema (yup, on the ladies) so I was very prepared to handle the discomfort of cracking and itching... I've used coconut oil daily after showering (also on my belly/hips/butt as I'm prone to stretch marks) and have very little drying/cracking or stretch marks. Still some itching and some pains and aches, but mostly the problem is my neck/back/shoulders. I think they're not responding well to all of the added weight. I've always been uneven (D on one side and B/C on the other normally), but now that I'm almost half-way through the pregnancy I feel like my bigger one is still getting bigger and my smaller one has stopped and doesn't really bother me anymore. It's really annoying. I mean, I'm talking up to an E (and almost out of that bra) on one side and maybe a D on the other... Ugh! And everyone keeps saying they'll just keep getting bigger.. I'm not sure I can take much more at 4'11.
And I definitely look like someone from NatGeo... These nipples are HUGE. I'm hoping it's all worth it and breastfeeding is as amazing as I've been dreaming.
My nips are hard all the time and add my to the huge nipple group. Also, they have gotten a lot darker. Anyone else experiencing this? For the itchy moms, coconut oil works really well and my mom bought me Mustela boob cream for pregnant women and it has been helping.
YES they itch like CRAZY! where canI get this blessing called coconut oil?!? I need it lke YESTERDAY! I have to life size globes growing on my boobs and it seems like tey get bigger and bigger EVERY day!
I have to put on a nursing pad WITH my padded bra to keep my nipps from showing the world how happy I am!

oh and @jmccoy18 my toes curled when you mentioned the beginning stages of breastfeeding! I remeber that like it was yesterday! But YES it did go away and I loved having that bond with my DS and my twins.
My nipples hurt and my boobs itch. I've discovered that my nipples hurt when I'm cold and they're hard, so I have some heat packs set aside to pop in the microwave to warm them/me up. I'm lotion-aholic, so I just keep slathering up the boobs, but it only helps a little.
Ya my breast hurt. My nipples are always hard....They can even be seen with a padded bra.
Exactly!!! DH keeps calling them sausage nipples.
Mine have been doing this and I started putting a bandaid over them and it kinda hurts for a minute but then the soften up and feel a lot better...
For me at least it is from not fitting in my bra's properly right now I am very in between sizes. In the 34C they bulge out and over fill it causing pressure that causes pain... In the 34D they have two much room and slide around and the 36C isn't helping either...
They itch. They hurt. They are ginormous. I must use coconut oil, I used to moisturize with it and I don't know why I ever stopped but I will try that again! It's odd to me because my boobs have always gotten bigger before I even had a BFP, but this is the first pregnancy that my nipples have gotten larger....like small pancakes *gag* I usually toss my bra the second I get home lol, no better feeling!
I've been diagnosed with Raynaud's phenomenon of the nipples. Which causes then to burn, literally burn whenever I'm cold. I have to keep my core warm at all times and other than that there's nothing they can do. It sucks!
Add me to the "nipples as big as small countries". It's crazy and so not cute, DH thinks its just hilarious. He's also asked why I didn't get pregnant along time ago if my boobs we're going to grow (went from a 34A to a 34C). Also, taking off my bra at night makes me want to cry it hurts so bad
You know what. All this has me confused , some say it's ok some say it's not , I mean I'm also on meds which were apparently a no no when pregnant but I've been told risks are minimum these days just the warnings haven't changed , because it's better for me to be well than have a flare up of my auto immune disease ... so sensitive and sore!! I scratched my nipple with my wedding ring when I was getting dressed yesterday morning. I never knew it was possible to literally take skin off your nipple.
They're harder than diamonds 24/7 and the itching drives me crazy. They don't hurt though, unless hubby wants to touch them then it's like "I'm dying get your hands away from there"

But I have to say I'm a bit discouraged, as I have one nipple that's been basically Unresponsive through my life. The other one is erect all the time through pregnancy so far, and I was really hoping this one would start to be more active so I can put my hopes towards breast feeding.
Have any experienced moms had this issue and still been able to breast feed? When will it correct itself?
Besides looking like orangutan nipples, they itch and hurt too!! I am using this Aveeno shower oil stuff that works wonders!! In the cold I can feel them shribble up and hurt sooooo bad!!

I don't have one that is unresponsive per say, it does respond although it takes it longer than the other one. My nips didn't get hard during my entire pregnancy with my first like they are with this one. When DS started nursing we had to train him to to latch on the side that was less responsive (that side is also a little "tied" at the bottom so it doesn't poke out as well as the other anyway). It took several weeks for him to latch on properly by himself. Engorgement did help the unresponsive-ness and so has my second pregnancy. I hope this helps. @smeliemelie3

Me! (and the DH) I've never disliked any boob action but now I love it!
They hurt, they itch, and they leak! Ugh.... Only 20 weeks and dealing with boobs that are the size of melons... They already were huge, but now I have super giant tits. And nipples. They are so heavy it hurts to carry them around..

I am only 17 weeks today. Last week, I had to break out the Lanolin 'Nipple Cream' for breast feeding already. It works for me.
Also, this weekend I had to warn my husband 'yeah so during happy fun time, you might want to be careful with the girls....they are in full working order'
So yay. Not even to the 1/2 way point yet and I am already leaking a bit
So I'll likely need to bust out the bra pads and such soon too
I use coconut oil in the shower (just pat dry) and bio oil after and just slather it all over my breasts and belly. Seems to help with my already dry skin. Also, coconut oil is great for removing makeup also!
At 14 wks, the tenderness & soreness turned into feeling like I was being MUTILATED, like somebody was taking a knife and coring my boobs from the inside out. The torture lasted about an hour each time it came throughout the day. When it's happening, my nipples turn white, like the blood was being sucked out of them before my very eyes. Then, as I feel the pain getting a little better, you can actually see a purplish-brown color take over little by little. I'm 18 wks now and it hasn't came as often as it used to; I am hoping and praying it stays that way. Until I read this, I thought that I was the odd man out.
They were super sore the first trimester (thank goodness that's gone) and grew two cup sizes. Now I have to clean out what I assume is dried colostrum every few days. Oh, and of course there's the itchy, flaky skin. Yay!
