I'll be praying for you. My best friend had a trisomy 13 baby and decided to terminate. 5 years later and we are still greiving. Sometimes life really isn't very fair. I know that doesn't make anything better. I hope they are able to give you some diagnostic results quickly so you don't have to live in fear for long. I'm so sorry that you have to go through any of this, even if it's just a scary false positive.
I wanted to update you all. We followed the Verifi with an amnio, and, unfortunately, it confirmed trisomy 18. However, it is mosaic. This is so rare. Only happens in less than 5% of the trisomy 18 cases. The hard part is that we don't know which cells have the trisomy in the baby, so there's no way to know how she'll be affected. Mosaic kids seem to have a wide range of severity. Thank you all for the kind words and thoughts and prayers. Keep them coming. We could really use them over the next 20 weeks.
A family member of mine has a child who is now 21with the same condition they said that Organizations such as the Chromosome 18 Registry & Research Society and the Trisomy 18 Foundation can help. Stay strong love xo
Big hugs and prayers to you and your family. I've worked closely with two kiddos who have a Trisomy 18 diagnosis, one partial and one mosaic. They are the sweetest most beautiful little girls. Stay strong mama and lean on those around you. ((Hugs))
I am so sorry you're going through this. Sending lots of thoughts and prayers your way, and giant Internet hugs! I hope everything works out for you and your family.
I am so sorry. I have a friend whose son was born with Edwards, he died at birth though. I know she joined a support group to help her along the way and some of those children are living. I can try to get you the information should the amnio come back positive.
((Hugs))
@lbw1977 I am so sorry you have to go through this! FX it's just a false positive. Sending good vibes and good juju your way! Prayers to you and your LO to be. Wishing the best for you.
So sorry to hear this. Joining a support group seems like a great idea, it's always helpful to know others going through the same thing. Thoughts and prayers are with you.
