Tuesday Randoms!

Re: Tuesday Randoms!

  • I feel like a bad mommy. I am counting the days until she's born because she's beating me up, more than because I want to meet her. :-( I'm sure I'll be a good mom, but I feel awful when I think, "Gtfo, kid!" :-( Maybe this is more of a Friday confessional.

Just to be clear, I'm not actually wishing for her to be born too early. I know that is a real struggle that people on this board fight every single day, and I don't mean to downplay that at all. I know I'm being a big, whiny baby and that there are women here who have much bigger problems than I do. You are much stronger than I. :((

You're not alone on that. I feel the same way at times when she wants to practice her boxing skills at 2am waking me up but at the same time I am just happy she is staying put where she needs to be right now.

  • Pretty sure my little guy is still breech or transverse sometimes. Wishing he would flip already so I can stop worrying about it. I'll welcome kicks to the ribs. Right now his head is taking over my breathing space.
@wahooMOM13--  My daughter is transverse right now.  The OB assured me yesterday that they don't worry until we hit about 36/37 weeks, but I also know women who have had babies flip while in labor, so there's hope yet!  I hope somehow this helps you worry less.

  • I'm waiting on a call back from a spa place.  I haven't been there in a few years, but I found a gift card that's close to starting to lose value and wanted to schedule a prenatal massage...  I asked about Dec 6th (so just under 2 weeks away) and apparently they have no masseuse on schedule right now.   :-/

I'm waiting on a call back because the woman who answered the phone said she had to check if there was "good reason" before she could just book my appointment.  So the waxer I want is in, the nail person for manis and pedis is in, but no masseuse schedule?  I'm so confused.  haha.

I know what you mean!  People tell me all the time "OMG I miss the kicks" are you crazy lady!  I hate them!  (But if she has a less active day I freak out)

It will be January before you know it and you can get your neck all fixed up!  Not too much longer, but it feels like an eternity!

@Britt1406 I watched Grey's over the weekend too and seriously? Can't anyone on that show have a normal pregnancy? I mean Callie was in a car accident and had a micro preemie, Meredith ended up with a csection during a power outage and now it looks like the April/Jackson baby is going to need some kind of miracle surgery. And yeah the patient with placenta acreta was some seriously scary shit!! I keep trying to break up with that show but yet I keep watching. So it's my own fault!

@Maebb I'm so jealous of your view, it looks AMAZING!!

Sorry for those not feeling well and ready for it to be January so we can evict or sweet little ones! Here's to hoping the next two months or less fly by!

    Edit: Posted before finished...

In neither of my first two pregnancies did I get kicked in the ribs and they were both head down exactly where they were supposed to be. Maybe you just have an extra kind LO! :)

Man, the one thread on here reminded me of something FMIL wanted to do for our wedding. She decided we should invite her entire extended family so she could have a family reunion at the same time. Nope, sorry. We're paying for this ourselves. Anymore than 70 people at the wedding, I'm calling it off, and we're eloping-- FI has agreed that this works for him as neither of us want a huge wedding and 70 is the agreement we have with the venue.
If she wants a family reunion, she can throw a damn reunion. What is so hard to understand?
That's what I said! She'll get over it. Our guest list is 1/3 my family and friends, 2/3 his family and friends. Other than adding in any S/Os, our list has been finalized for about a year now. She threw this on us back in July as we were getting ready to send save the dates, and I put my foot down about it, much to her dismay.

My father decided he wanted to invite his 23 cousins to our wedding.  We ended up saying yes - it felt like a really big deal that my dad wanted his whole family at our same-sex wedding.  BUT - he paid for his guests, and our wedding already had 150 people coming, so a few more didn't make a big difference.  That said, he definitely wanted a family reunion, and in retrospect should have just had one.

@MusicFanatic - I have the blueberry coffee, and I'm not 100% sure on it.  Maybe I should have gotten sugar in it?  I don't usually put sugar in my coffee though.
Wouldn't get sugar in it if you typically don't- probably not your thing then :)  Not everyone loves it- my H thinks it's yucky. You guys just have a few broken taste buds. That's ok, though. Sort of.

  • I had my US yesterday, and baby girl is head down and growing on track, yay! She kicked the ultrasound wand thing a few times - feisty.

I don't love iced coffee, but I DO love iced lattes (ice, milk, and espresso) - so good. I get mine with a flavour shot (hazelnut or almond or caramel)

  • @wahooMOM13 I had my 30 week appointment and baby is still breech for me too. The midwife said not to worry, especially not before 35 weeks.

She said to do lots of hands/knees(or cat/cow) at night becasue it gives baby room to move. She also said to try to to an ice pack on top of belly and a heating pad set to low on the bottom of the belly for 5-10 min a few times a week. I guess it encourages baby to turn head down.

Good morning! I just read the whole "am I on the right board thread" and now I need an iced coffee and a donut. I will not admit how many boston creme donuts I've had over the last two weeks. Can anyone else only tolerate iced coffee now? I've always loved all coffee but hot has made me feel sick all pregnancy. It's weird and sad.
Kind of in this boat, too.  I used to only drink coffee black, or maybe with a little cream.  Now, the taste is so off/dirty water tasting to me (still LOVE the smell of coffee tho), I can't drink it anymore.  I can handle lattes and cappuccinos - and iced coffee, though.  Apparently I need it really doctored up to drink it these days, otherwise it just tastes like shit.  :((
Myles was so pumped about the baby . . . until he figured out he'd have to share all his toys!!!

  • Good morning girls!

I'm so happy to finally be having some fall weather here- it's wonderful! BUT there is one thing I do not love about being pregnant in this weather- my nips feel like they are going to fall off every time there's a breeze/chill in the air. Ahhhh! It hurts so bad! I'm still trying to figure out how to discretely rub my boobs in public...

I had another weird sex dream last night in which I may or may not have been the man... :-O

Those are pretty commonplace for me.  Also, I have a lot of gay male sex dreams.  Usually involving Luke Evans or James McAvoy.

I have sex dreams where I have "given it" to my husband because in my dream I have the equipment to do so ;)

Anytime I get cold it feels like someone is stabbing my nipples with needles!  It hurts so bad.  I stopped caring about being discreet, I will rub my boobs if I need to haha.

  • I had a dream last night that I had 4 kids by DH and then he abandoned me :'( He looked like a total scrub, too, with super long hair and a stoner knit hat and basketball shorts with long socks/adidas flip flops. He was like "peace out, babe". And I had no idea how to care for the kids, either.

I woke up totally angry/sad at DH and didn't talk to him for the first five minutes I was awake, haha. He was being super sweet while he got ready for work, ironing his shirt, and was like "good morning! GOOD MORNING!! :) " and then I told him about my dream and he laughed a lot and was like "no way, I love you!" and gave me a few kisses.

I think I am starting to worry about knowing HOW to take care of this little munchkin once she's here. So overwhelming.

Also, just because it's freaking me out and I love to overshare, my company posted the position I've been waiting for this whole time (like almost a year of being trained for this one thing) BUT I don't think I'm really qualified for it, and I'm about to go on maternity leave, and it's a super responsibility-heavy position, and I feel sort of humiliated because I am going to apply for it and I might get an interview, but I don't think I'll actually be hired for the job, and then someone else will get it, and I'll be like the poor little employee with a baby getting thrown crumbs of pity from the higher-ups, and overall I just hate being put in this position. /rant

@Jellybean707 I would really like a ton of apple pies right now, too. Yum.
  • Oh another random...

I'm also in the "holy crap we had summer last week and now it's winter" category.

I don't know whether to be sad I can't line dry my diapers (they'd FREEZE!) or happy I can hang them up places inside and add some moisture to the air in my house after how much the stupid heat pump has had to run to attempt to keep the house at 65 F when it's 32 F outside...

  • @misslizzy82 but... it's... scaryyyy  :-<

Also it's really hard to act cocky and super confident when you're 8 months pregnant.

But I will try. Grumble grumble.
  • This little boy gets the hiccups at least twice a day, every day. Sometimes more than that. Anybody else? I think it bothers me way more than kicking for some reason, it's just so constant and low down there.

Oh- also, I watched last weeks Grey's on Sunday night- they should really put a warning for pregnant woman in the intro! Holy moly, I cried- DH said he wasn't going to watch anymore Grey's with me and I shouldn't watch it either. I will still watch anyway, but maybe be prepared with tissues!
YES! I spent the rest of the evening reading about placenta acreta (don't do this ladies) and crying. H looked on horrified.
I almost did this. DH was like- "It's just a show!" but I said "It's real... it could happen" in my crying mess. Then in the previews they showed that something could be wrong with April/Jax's baby during the next episode.

    --------

I totally texted my mom after the episode it should have had a pregnant women warning! balled...and next week's will prob be worst..I really hope their baby is okay. I'm a greys addict :)

Yup! Usually 1-2 times a day she gets hiccups and has for around a month. It can bother me, too, because they wake me and the kicks usually don't.

here too! She's been having them for months, it was actually the first thing I felt.  Last Friday she had them for a good 15-20 mins.  She's head down so they're super low and it's uncomfortable on my cervix.

Yes, me too. I don't mind it with this baby, they aren't as hard or frequent as with my first (ALL day right into my cervix/bladder).

  • It took me FOREVER to read this thread because I've been doing work in between.

I had two appointments so far this morning.  One was 15 minutes late and the other hasn't showered in 15 days.  Both were useless appointments and I will get no business out of them :(

I need to go eat some food before my next appointment at 2:30 PM EST.

It's so weird how low they are! I feel like I need to put my hand there when he gets them, like it's going to make them feel better or go away, and I'm sure that's gotten some strange looks.

  • It's a warm 11 degrees here! My darling 3 year old joins us in bed almost every night, around 2:00. It's exhausting because he's a super close sleeper so I have to pry him off of me all night! I love the snuggling but I need some sleep! Any STM know how to deal with keeping him in his own bed??
God this is me right now. DS1 is 19 months old. He literally wants to be forehead to forehead while sleeping and I can't breathe with him breathing in my face. I'm constantly prying him off of me all night. It's killing me!!

Mine gets them in the morning. It's funny to me. I wish we could have a camera in there to see these beans in action.
  • My MIL keeps referring to LO as "no-name baby girl", we've had a nickname for the baby for months and though we have a few names chosen we're waiting to meet the baby before we settle on anything so we haven't told anyone.
H and I both use the nickname when referring to the baby, but she insists on " no-name baby girl". It's really getting on my nerves, I asked H to mention it to her. Am I just being oversensitive?
  • I just scheduled an appointment to get my hair done. I am so over excited about this. It was been way too long. Bayalage highlights, I hope they turn out as good as the ones on Pinterest :))
  • I think my feet grew. Wtf. This didn't happen last time! My shoes all feel tight. Do they shrink back? (Please say yes)
