Hi all - posting now, will catch up later. Had the 3hr GTT this morning, starting at 6:30am. Drank the red stuff (still terrible, but actually preferred it to the orange drink from the 1hr). Read for the 1st hour, slept for the 2nd hour, watched tv for the 3rd. Felt fine the whole time, got home around 9:45 and made myself some toast and very suddenly got REALLY overheated and sweaty, and now I'm feeling a bit odd - going to have some cool water and try to relax. Oof.
Your glucose might have crashed after all that sugar in your system. I know mine dropped pretty suddenly - down to 77. Hope you are feeling better!
@chickycig - Once you mail back the response, the IRS prob would just let go. Got nothing to hide anyway. You probably just got hit by a random audit. Both times I got audited were the only times in my life I actually filed for a refund. I suspect those jerks were just being sour about parting with MY money
Edit: typing isn't my forte
Good to know, we were just taken back at how random it was.
I'm seriously so frustrated right now I'm almost in tears. I asked HR when I first was announcing I was pregnant if I needed to do ANYTHING at all to prepare for leave or do anything with my short term disability. They gave me a packet and said everything would be taken care of closer to the time. The other day I noticed on the insurance website that they only have my form for when I initiated my policy, making MUCH less than I do now. My husband's insurance auto updates with increases so I didn't think much of it, but I figured I'd ask HR anyways. She tells me that I can't update it now because I'm already pregnant or they won't pay anything at all... So I'm getting 60% of pay when I was making 5 dollars LESS for my maternity leave. I could SCREAM. I don't know what we're going to do, it was going to be tight as it was... and now, I'm practically getting pennies.
I got some much needed long sleeve maternity shirts today. Now I feel warm enough until my coat gets here.
i can't believe the price on maternity shirts. It really makes me angry because we need these clothes and they jack the prices up to ridiculous amounts. Also since I went with MIL everyone kept thinking the twins where mine and then I'm walking around with a baby bump. I got some nice stares.

@wirtlehm I'm seriously almost there. I don't know what to do. If I update it, I get nothing. So SOMETHING is better than NOTHING but... that's a HUUUUUUGE difference.

How is that even a thing?! So basically it is just an HR paperwork thing and these assholes are just saying "sorry, doesn't work like that, that's the policy" ??? I just don't understand how that is possible. I am SO sorry

Yeah, basically NOBODY told me that I needed to update with the insurance company whenever I got an increase at work.. and I enrolled 2 years ago and I make significantly more now due to raises and 2 promotions since then. So if I update it, they drop me for this pregnancy and I get absolutely nothing or I just keep my mouth shut, get pennies on the dollar and seriously budget for the next several months. Agh idk what to do. I'm going through all of our bills trying to figure out what it would take to pay things off and seeing what we can do to eliminate some of our debt before the baby comes. I think it's really our only option at this point. Granted, probably something I should have looked into earlier (the insurance and consolidating debt) but still.. I'm just feeling so defeated right now.

Is your insurance through your work? Granted, I don't know much (anything) about the way insurance works in the US, but I feel like informing the insurance of a raise should have been your company's responsibility? I would honestly call HR and keep demanding their supervisor until you get far enough up the chain where someone can actually help you. The squeaky wheel gets the grease!
@lizzybean Yes, it's through my work. I work for a small family owned company with a HR staff of 2 at the moment, and the one I spoke with is due only weeks before me. I'm not sure if there's anything they can do, I think it falls into the insurance company's hands. She did offer to call them with me on Monday or Tuesday to figure everything out for sure.
Omg, we have been so busy at work. Everyone wants coffee when it's cold outside. Hope everyone has a great weekend. Maybe I will be able to bump more tomorrow. For now I am taking a well deserved nap.

Damn I was hoping you worked for some big corporation and you could yell at 20 people before getting it all straightened out. I am so angry for you!
@PikoPiko I'm expecting a larger kid (again) so I only have a few NB items and a lot of 0-3 months. Like @lizzybean said, snug fitting clothes are safer for newborns. If you're expecting 8 lbs or bigger you should only need a handful of NB clothes but I would get more NB outfits if you're expecting a baby smaller than that. (I guessed off the average size of babies for the women in my family which was 7.5+ lbs even though I don't believe this holds true for everyone)
I am very thankful school is almost over today. I was outside my room doing hall duty and talking to one of my students while another was entering my room and a screaming fight took place spilling over from another class. I literally was in the middle of a fight breaking out and not by my own doing. I finally had to scream that I was pregnant and it had to end to snap sense into them and walk them down to the office. I am usually a pro at handling students at school but for the first time in my life I was scared for my baby and it is a feeling I have never experienced before. Luckily another teacher covered my class for a bit while I pulled myself together and took some deep breaths. I'm happy to be heading home soon.
@wirtlehm my heart breaks for the family and many thoughts and prayers out to you all

^ and then my mw was expecting a big baby and Ella was 6lbs nothing and dropped to 5lbs 8oz. Our mw was shocked, and DH actually said "where's the rest of her?!" when she was born. LOL MIL had to run out and buy preemie clothes because she was swimming in her NB clothes! You really just never know.
@lizzybean I wish I could too. Unfortunately I'm terrible at that lol and the HR girl you could tell felt really bad. I just wish someone had told me that was how it had worked...
So sorry about all the stress trying to figure out what's going on with W, @ChickenOnSunday! Hope you get answers and rest soon.
@miniwheat10 Glad LO is fine and so are you but geez that's a lawsuit waiting to happen if where you work didn't clear off the sidewalk at least. I'll ask MH (he's a personal injury lawyer) and see what the general law is about that. I hope the rest helps and that you don't have any more falls!
@PeaceofKia Yikes hope you can get relief for your CT--sounds absolutely miserable.
@willvilljill Hope you can take it easy for the rest of the day. The 3-hr GD test sounds really rough. I'm glad my doc told me I can eat/drink before I take my glucola; otherwise I would most likely lose it. GL to everyone else taking their tests!
@lizzybean Hope you can rest! I'm slowing down a lot, too, which is frustrating because some days I get hardly anything accomplished.
Hugs to the mamas who slept crappy and/or are feeling down today.
@racheltherose that is absolute crap! I'm an HR gal myself and am seriously side eyeing that. At my company we are responsible for those updates and it doesn't matter if they happen in the middle of your pregnancy. I call BS on that! I'm so sorry you're dealing with that.
@missystephens I would have been terrified! I'm glad you're ok.

Are they taking out your taxes and ins. premiums from your paycheck based on your current pay? if so, they must have your current earnings. If not, then you have been getting extra money for the same coverage the last two years.
Popping in to AW what I made to go over FI's DDs bed at the new house it's crazy and fun that I get to do both a little girl and little boy rooms! I still have to clean up some hot glue and add a sparkly broach to the middle of the flower but it's basically done!
@MapleMomma Do you think there's anything I can really do at this point? I mean I have NO idea how this stuff works so... idk
@MaddScientist She did mention that if I increased it I would be paying more, so I believe I've been paying for what I used to make. So... idk what that means (I'm not at all up to speed when it comes to insurance stuff)
So I just had one crazy dr appt today. I go in for my 28 week appt and I knew I was getting the Tdap shot. But they come in with a second shot also. I ask the nurse what it is and she explains it's the shot I need for having a negative blood type. I asked "like if you're RH negative?" She said yes. Ummm... This is my third pregnancy and I am NOT RH negative! My blood type is AB positive! I tell her that and she says "oh, well we'll check that" comes back in and says "you were right, I'm not sure why that was in your chart." No shit I was right! I think I know my own blood type. I'm just glad I asked what the hell it was before i let them stick me with it! I don't know much about it, but would that have caused any harm if they had given me that shot when I don't have a negative blood type?
Well, add me to the boob leakage group....I guess I've been leaking for a while. The past week or so I just thought it was underboob sweat because it would only happen in the morning right after I'd wake up. So now what?
Some days I can't stand my mom. I've been telling my mom that boneless wings are just like all white meat chicken nuggets for years now, have tried to take her out to Buffalo Wild Wing's and have brought her wings from a local restaurant before and she swears up and down she hates wings. My little sister mentions it once and now my mom is making my dad take her there for their anniversary. This happens all the time. My word is not good enough on something but my sister's is for some reason. I feel like I should get mad at my sister but I know better. She's not doing anything but discussing what she likes. So frudtrating.
Best client ever today and I'm treating myself to a footling tuna sub and a Diet Coke from Subway. Gonna get my nails done, possibly a hair cut and going shower shopping for my girlfriend's shower that's tomorrow.
It's nice and cloudy out, too
VERY nice change from yesterday!

F15 January Siggy Challenge: What You're Looking Forward To After Baby's Born
Hi ladies! Sorry I haven't read through the whole thread do to not feeling good but I hope all who are having a rough go at the weekend may it get better and for those who are having a great weekend keep on keeping!! I'm a 100% sure I woke up to having a small case of food poisoning. I feel so bad for my lil dude cause I haven't been able to eat all day. (
OMG, only halfway through reading spam, but I have a nurse rant.
My OB, I love, but her nurse, who is a different one than she had the first time I was pregnant, just gets on my nerves, and I feel bad because it's for such little stuff that I end up second-guessing myself and thinking that maybe it's just me who's being oversensitive. Which, frankly, I AM... but I still get super annoyed.
About a month or so ago, we were in a ridiculous heat wave here (mid-90s every day), and she was making small talk while taking my blood pressure, and asked what I'm doing to deal with the heat. I grinned and said, "oh, lots of ice cream!" gesturing at my torso, meaning, like, "hey, no time like the present to indulge." She instantly started tsk-ing me, and said, "ohhhh, no. you have a glucose test coming up soon!" (in... four weeks.)
So I just took my one-hour glucose test yesterday. With my first daughter, I failed the one-hour, but passed the three-hour. I also know that, if it turns out that I have gestational diabetes, it is obviously going to suck to have to be so diligent, but for me, it's not the end of the world -- at the very least, it'll only be till Feb.
The nurse just called me with the news that I had failed the one-hour this time, and I shit you not, she sounded like she was trying to tell me that someone had died. I am SURE that I'm being over-irritable, but listen, this isn't really horrible news yet, no need to be so dramatic! I mentioned to her that I had to do the three-hour the first time around, so while I was taking down her specific instructions, I did remember in general how the whole process goes. And she was still all, "I'm really sorry to give you this bad news..."
I'm an insane person for ranting about a nurse who I'm sure is just trying to be nice, but COME ON, save your sympathy for people who are actually getting bad news!

Good for you for being your own advocate and always questioning. Please inform your OB and/or their office manager of this. This needs to be documented internally and corrected as it's a patient safety issue.
Per Dr. Google: (1) The RhoGAM shot given to someone who does not need it will most likely not cause harm to you or your child. The 1/2 life of the preparation is approximately 30 days, so after 60 days, it will be completely eliminated from your system.

I had a goat cheese and bacon panini today and am now am feeling terrible about it. Google + listeriosis = panic. Tell me I am being crazy. I know I am being crazy.
My poor fur baby woke up yesterday unable to walk. He is a 7 year old corgi. He had a scab on his neck a few weeks ago which we thought had to be from a tick. Well, we brought him in and he has Lyme disease. He just took his second antibiotic pill and still isn't walking. It makes me so sad to see him like this because he is normally so active.
@racheltherose - I want to scream for you! How frustrating! I'm not even sure I would know to check on that; it seems like something that would get updated every year when plans are renewed by employers. :-( I wish I had some amazing advice for you, but all I have are my sympathies. I also feel like if insurance policies are purchased by your work, it must be the responsibility of the work that is renewing it to update salary information.
ETA:
@Sammys1120 - You are being crazy. You're welcome.
