@chickenhawke so I don't know who else watches The Newsroom but I know you do and I watched it last night.... So freaking good! As always! And so much in the last 10 minutes!! Here's so hoping Sorkin doesn't crawl into a big hole and leave us without another amazing, witty, thought provoking show for too long...
I love The Newsroom and didn't realize it was back on. I think it's totally underrated. Can't wait to watch.
My baby is breech, but my doctor said not to worry until 36 weeks. The fact that some of you are already worrying makes me worried. Is it time to worry?
So DS1 is having a growth spurt AND teething. ~X( spent an hour in the middle of night trying to figure out how to comfort him. This is one tired mama.
I've been working a lot on my Etsy shop for a possible Christmas market next month, so I probably won't be on here as much.
You guys, I think I might cry. I just broke the scale. Literally. I stepped on it and it cracked. I called my husband crying and made him promise to never bring it up again, but the big fat pregnant chick just broke the fucking scale. FWIW, it was 8 years old and didn't have the accurate weight on it anyway, I just use it to see if I'm staying consistent. I feel like such an ass.
Now to go drown my sorrows in a bowl of ice cream, because I'm not already enough of a cliche today.
I'm sorry, you will probably laugh about it later. Enjoy your ice cream.
@PaleoMama hope all is well! Glad they are taking a closer look at it.
@CatLadyTX oh no!! Don't be sad, I am sure it is not your actual weight that did it in. I have to admit I giggled a bit, hopefully you'll look back at this and chuckle soon. ((Hugs))
So..... I had my MW appt and they didn't give me the GD test. They said new office policy is to not give it until after 28 weeks! Boo.
But baby girl is sounding great, measuring on track, and my BP is still good, so I am happy! And I got the TDap and flu vaccines. I was super brave in front of Ella and I was very proud of myself. Hopefully I can remind her how Mommy wasn't scared when she gets her flu shot in a couple weeks.
@MapleMamma - I too am HR and doing Open Enrollment right now. SIX huge group insurance meetings this week and six more next week. We have to switch from our nice blue cross plan to an ACA plan too so its just nonstop "whyyyyyy?" "I liked the old plan why are you making us change?" all week long. So much for modified bed rest. Open enrollment waits for no man.
@catladytx - Funny only because there is literally SO no way you actually broke the scale and happened to be the person who stepped on it the day it was gonna die no matter what. I'm sure you look beautiful!
@psychobutthead I agree with everyone else, if I could leave I would. Sometimes after sucky things like that it's time to throw in the towel on the day
It seems like half of us are getting the GD test today. I just drank the orange drink and didn't think it was bad at all. Baby loved it, kicking up a storm.
@Paleomama - keep us posted, hope everything turns out ok!
@psychobutthead - falling sucks. I'm glad you landed so the baby didn't get hit, though.
I called my ob to ask about my knee and they want me to come in. Apparently any kind of fall has to be reported because the motion and impact can rupture your placenta or cause it to tear even if the fall isn't on your stomach.
I'm hoping everything is fine with LO and I just have a scraped to hell knee. But I have to be honest I didn't know that was possible even if you don't fall on your stomach so now I'm worrying.

@psychobutthead, Oh no! Hopefully the OB will give you some peace of mind!
I went through a giant box of baby stuff last night labeled NB and Size 1 diapers...THE WHOLE DANG 40lb tub was FULL of diapers. I felt like I won the lottery.
@catladytx - awww, it was a piece of sh!t scale on its way out. I hope the icecream did the trick in lifting your mood.
Speaking of all these GD test and the cocktail - I have 3 options, orange, fruit punch or something that's supposed to be like a sprite, which one is less nasty?
I gorged on a PJ&J sandwich right after gym... so much for my 'eating better' plan this week.
Friday is my b-day. I turn 35.. so not that big of a deal. I even already purchased and have been using my present, a new kindle fire. I got it before our vacation per DH's suggestion.
He has yet to ask what I would like to do friday night. Then his dad just sent out the group text of What's the plan for SIL's b-day, which is tomorrow. DH replied.. not sure. It took SIL to say.. It's Nicole's b-day too.
Kind of want to smack DH right now...
The worst part is we do a crawfish boil for his b-day EVERY YEAR.. and if we didn't have some sort of acknowledgment of it he would have a fit.
@pikopiko get the fruit punch if you can! The orange is horrible, fruit punch is a little more bearable. I don't know anything about the sprite (lemon lime?) one.
Apparently my parents are getting me Reid's crib as my Christmas present. It's supposed to be delivered on Friday! This is actually stressing me out even more because I have no where to put it! Reid's room is currently being used as Hailey's play room. In order to move her toys out of there we have to finish the basement. I told Brett that the goal is to get the drywall taped and mudded this week so that he can sand on Saturday - since he will be gone all next week for work. If he can at least get it sanded, I should be able to work on paint while he is gone. I don't want to be involved in the sanding though because of the dust.
@kefttsc Holy nursery size, our's is tiny like we can barely fit everything in it.
@ckimberley14 Question for a twin mom (sorry to pick your brain), Target is having a baby walker on sale for black friday, I was planning to stop in and see if they had some, If they do, should I get 1 or 2? I know a lot of people say they can share but if it is easier to just have 2 should I just grab another?
My random is I think I am going to look for some fabric to make crib skirts and curtains today.
Definitely get 2. MIL got the girls one walker, and I ended up getting a second one. Why make one wait their turn when it's easy to have a walker for each kid? I'm not asking you personally, just those who assume twins share things like that easily. Granted I don't have 2 of every toy for my girls, but the walker is such a popular developmental toy it's kinda silly to only have one when it's easy to get 2...I hope that makes sense.

Have a good veterans' day ladies!
To you HR ladies, I have a question. My husband's company has open enrollment this week. I know we want to put the baby on his insurance, not mine. What do we do so that she is covered by his insurance immediately following birth? My insurance is so expensive , so we don't want to get stuck with a month's worth of coverage (it's my understanding VT hat the baby will automatically be covered by my insurance for up to 30 days while we figure it out and get baby covered).
Happy Veterans Day ladies...especially to those of you who served or who are wives of military men.
DH is home mapping out his restaurant tour for the day. He takes full advantage of the free meal given to Vets.
It would be even better if he plans it out by crawling through bushes like he was doing the other day. ) ... And mission impossible playing in the background.
@mrsthadababy HA!! I screen shot this to DH... his reply was "I like the way she thinks"

Teething freaking sucks! B had an awful time while teething. There were many sleepless nights. I am not looking forward to that again.
Woohoo! Got my start date for my new job! I'm down into the double digit days left in my pregnancy! I'm now a Jamberry consultant! AND my Etsy Store views are starting to pick back up! I'm sooooooooooo excited! Things are looking good for hubby and I now! ::Snoopy Dance:: \:D/ <:-P
@mahalo3 Having a baby is a qualifying event. Whenever you have a qualifying event you can make benefit changes at that time. Wait until the baby is born and then you can enroll her. You should have a 30-day window after she is born to get her added to his insurance. I don't think you would even be able to enroll her right now since she hasn't been born yet. You need a birthdate and social security number to enroll someone.
ETA: They will retro her benefits back to her birth date.

Yah, same here, but on Sunday I did NOTHING online (working on making stuff) and it was a big jump. Sometimes you just get those fluke days I guess. I need some SEO pixie dust. Lol
Our Vancouver Canucks are coming to Tampa toward the end of January and DH is thinking about taking Ella to the game. I will be too far along for the 2.5 hour drive each way but I think Ella would freaking love to see a live game. I've been hoping and hinting for DH to spend more quality time with her and I hope he takes this opportunity.
@psycobutthead -- FX everything is a-ok. You are now in the 'I-fell-and-I-don't-even-know-how' club with me and my bum ankle. Funny, I called and left a message on my OB nurse line after my fall and no one even called me back to follow up. It is good that your OB's office seems informed and is airing on the side of caution.
@Paleomama -- FX for you and baby girl...just keep on keepin' on!
@CatLadyTX -- you are WAY more brave than I--stepping willingly onto a scale not in the OB office. No worries momma....just keep you and the babe healthy!
Hi lovely ladies!!! Today is not too bad I facetimed my stepsister and to my surprise she was with my dad and her mom it was good to see him on his day( he's a vet) and just period because he lives 700 miles away so I have not seen him in 2 years. I imediately got a little jealous because he was going to a vet day surprise with my stepsister and stepmom and I wish I could have been there or known about it or even facetimed while they were there so I could share in the excitement . I'm the only child of my dads but it just makes me so sad that due to the distance my children will not know him like my stepsisters kids do. He is really happy to have a grandson and a grandson on the way but somehow I still get jealous of the girls my stepsister has not really sure what the moral of this story is right now but just wanted to share I guess

I am SO not caught up on the spam threads, but I wanted to share an awesome deal I found on the City Select Stroller at Buy Buy Baby since I know a lot of you mamas are looking at buying it.
Would y'all prefer I post it here or start a new thread so more people can see it? I can't even remember what our baby bargains thread was called or I'd just post it there.
ETA: OR have I been hiding under a rock, and you all already know about it???
