I was at work yesterday and baby was really active. I made the comment to a co worker that it felt as if she was going to kick her way out today. Obviously I know this won't happen but we got on the topic of what would happen if my water broke at work. I have a retail job so It would be a little awkward if that was to happen.
Anyway, my question is has anyone had their water break in a public place or know someone that has? This is my third pregnancy and my water broke at home with my first and in the hospital with my second. I'm not asking out of concern; just curious.
Re: Has anyone's water broken in a public place?
I hope it wont break at Target or something. I really feel sorry for anyone that has to clean up my amniotic fluid :-& I left a full on river trail from the car, through the parking lot, and all down the hallways at L&D

This amused me no end because the meeting was within the Canadian government. I've always suspected that the majority of government meetings show few tangible results!!
My water broke at home with both of my girls and I'd like for it to break in the hospital this time. You know, since I can plan it and everything

I'm hoping it happens the same way again!

@NerdyNurse is labor really less painful? Never heard that before.

Ditto!
I've never really given much thought or stressed too much about when/where my water will break. The way I see it is that it's a natural part of labour and it just means that it's go time!
Mine never broke though. The midwife broke it about 1 hours into labor and DD was born an hour later.
Thanks! The OB broke mine after a couple hours of pushing then DD was crowning soon after. The burning overshadowed any pain from contractions.
My water broke and I was still having no contractions. They got a teeny tiny bit worse a few hours later, but nothing unbearable. I was started on Pitocin once I arrived at the hospital because even 3 hours later I was still not really contracting. And I had Niagra Falls coming out of me. It was a lot of water.

Clean up!
My Dr broke my water after my epidural with #2.
Curious how this time will go. For some reason I keep having the feeling that it will happen at work. But I work in L&D so that wouldn't be terribly inconvenient for me. ;-)
