Amen. If it isn't caf, it isn't worth it.
I fully support the love for full caf! More power to you ladies.

I'm a little sensitive to it though, and since I was grabbing myself a noon pick me up, decided decaf was a safer bet for me to still be able to sleep tonight. :)

I can't do the caffeinated either, I get the shakes.

@BrainCellSup‌ What did she freak out about?! We had 3 hours last weekend and 4 hours tomorrow for our birthing class. It was pretty tame.

After my class I had the same thought! I think hers was very directed toward natural birth options and I got the sense the instructor was perhaps a little judgy of those who planned on opting for the epidural.

I had my childbirth class today. I was the only woman due in December (the rest were January and February). ...
I feel a whole lot better about this labor and delivery thing. I can do this!! And really, a positive attitude is all I need , right?

@pooky08 I feel the same way!! I'm looking forward to round two today. I got to satisfy the student in me and took copious notes. I also had the earliest due date except for one other person--I'm glad DH and I are taking it now though because with my pregnancy brain I'd have needed a refresher if we had taken it any earlier.

One thing I realized is I'm already impatient with DH 'doing it wrong' in terms of the support positions we practiced. I'm grumpy from not sleeping well. I need to work on this (communication) or it's going to be a long labor.

We have our hospital tour Wednesday afternoon, then the next week we're taking a newborn care/breastfeeding class. Shit's getting real! I'm excited.

I should really upload a pic of my living room. My kid doesn't have a bedroom yet. Clothes are still in totes. Nothing is washed. My house is still in reno mode. Hoping by thanksgiving I can start actually preparing for this baby. Crunch time.
Yeah same here. Any new clothes still have not been washed, the hand me downs are still in boxes and all the sizes are jumbled together, and this kid has no where to sleep. DH is talking about putting in built in bookshelves which means our house will also be in reno mode, again. ::sigh:: This kid might have a room by the time he's a year at this rate.
    Me three!

We have to re-arrange things in the spare bedrooms and DS's room to get Baby Girl's room ready. It's a work in progress but she'll be in our room the first 6 months anyway, so I'm not in a rush.

For now, we did finally get her co-sleeper set up in our room. We'll get car seat bases installed and some clothes washed up this week. Then hospital bag. One thing at a time!

I'm impressed with all you've done, I have lists of lists I need to make. I'm sitting down now to actually make one, at least, and to organize what else I need from my registries now that I can see what my amazon discount applies to. I'm glad I get Tuesday off and, since we have contractors working at our place right now, less of an ability to sit at home and be lazy.

  • DH left left Diva Dog out of her crate and unattended this afternoon. We came home to find my leather moccasin slippers eaten. Not just chewed...like only the sole is left.

I only had my slippers and my slip on shoes that I can wear...now I am just down to the shoes. :(

    Things I've accomplished:
Finished all my Christmas shopping today.  Have a couple gift cards to get, but they are all from places within 5 minutes from me.
All presents are organized and ready to be wrapped.
Plans for Thanksgiving are pretty much made.
Big and Little sister presents ready to go

    Things left to do:
    Finish nursery
Find, wash, and organize baby clothes
    Pre register at hospital
Pick out a name for baby
    Pack hospital bag
Make plans for DD1 for when I go into labor
Get sub plans ready for maternity leave.

Whelp I guess my priorities are holiday celebrations.  These D14 babies need to keep cooking, I'm so not ready.

omg this makes me so tired just looking at it. oof. I need to  go to bed now.

  • So, vanity has taken over. I have my OB appt today and I ATTEMPTED to trim the hedge so she can find all of my necessary parts. It was shave by braille, and I think there are some big chunks that I missed. I know they don't care, but I'm sure they will appreciate the effort.

  • still haven't packed my bag but then almost everything I'll need I use on a daily basis so there's no point just yet.  going to vaccum my car this weekend and install the baby seat base then toss the dilapitated carboard bus I've taken away from DD and hidden in the nursery.  done all 3 of my thank you crads for my registry since I've gotten nothing and wrapped all the presents.

so now my priorities are decorating for Christmas and getting the house and squared away before baby arrives.

Yep! Yay! Can't wait to begin decorating. We still have things to organize and set up, which will be this coming Sunday. We usually reserve Sundays for cleaning/organizing. I've been getting more frequent prodromal labor contractions, so I better get things going on the off chance she decides to arrive within the next couple weeks.

  • @CandEChicago I am sorry about your slipper! I am sure that made for an interesting poop this morning too. Ick.

Not yet...I would rather the interesting poop than the alternative.

  • Speaking of poop -- I had to go at work the other day, and a group of girls walked in as I was finishing up and started commenting and laughing about the odor. I said, "Sorry girls!" and the one who sat next to me (whyyyy do people sit in a stall next to someone when there is an option NOT to?) said "Oh you're adorable. Everybody poops!" I was still mega embarrassed. I hate pooping at work, but these days, I take my poops when and where I can. Please tell me I'm not alone? Anyone have an embarrassing poop story?

  • Forgot to mention I attempted to go shopping for a pair of replacement slippers (and new pair of shoes since DH and the dog owe me).

Drove from PT to the store, parked in their garage, and then saw the sign that the elevator was out. Decided slippers would be nice but I will wait 2 days for zappos to deliver them versus climbing 4+ flights of parking garage stairs just to get back to my car.

    I feel so lazy.

I would have done the same thing.

    I wouldn't have even apologized.

Screw that. No apology necessary. I would have hoped I'd have a huge fart on deck to rip to put the cherry on top of that situation.

If anyone feels the need to be sappy and have some tears flowing this evening, go listen to Garth Brooks "mom". *Cue ugly cry* Edit cause words.
Or go see the movie "Big Hero 6" and watch the horribly manipulatively emotional animated short film before the beginning of the movie. Hint: there is an orphaned puppy, a baby, and a boy-loses-girl-gets-girl-back story.

Try more soup, tea, and water dense fruit & veg as well. Since the temperature is dropping I found drinking the same amount of water as I had in 2nd tri increasing difficult.

  • Are any of you ladies doing a pregnancy tea? I got reminded yesterday of it, and I'm going to pick up some at the store this afternoon. It may or may not do anything to help "tone the uterus for labor", but it's also another way to get in 2-3 servings of liquids.

I also like the mother's milk tea for after baby when nursing. Again, not sure how actually effective it is for keeping the milk supply toned, but it's another way to ensure that you're getting enough fluids.

  • I find if I put water in a water bottle, I drink it much more quickly than when it's in a glass.  I also like to add a little lemon juice or lemonade to make it taste better.  Before I was pregnant, I used to drink almost no water, so it's been a big change trying to drink so much.

  • I keep a water bottle by my bed, in my car, in my school bag.. pretty much anywhere so I always have something to sip if I remember. I definitely love zesting it up, but have been too lazy to add anything to it lately. Usually I add cucumber, mint, lemon, and ginger-it's called "sassy water".

@bowlwoman, I've been drinking pregnancy tea! Not sure how toned my uterus is, but it definitely helps me get extra water in every morning and night. I also feel like my acne has gotten better since drinking it? And I have noticed my cheeks get rosey red after a cup, so I think there's definitely some circulation work being done.

Sassy water sounds yummy! I may have to try this. Do you have a specific ratio? Do you put the veggies/herbs in and let it steep for a certain amount of time? I need more details. :D
